I am working on a tabletop RPG myself, based on the MMOG/animated show Wakfu. I could say I officially started it on January, but the truth is it's already in his third version since I started, almost two years ago.
First, I tried to severely alter the generic dK² (a French hack of the d20 system, but much more flexible), but it proved way too much work and retooling to make it work the way I wanted it. So, I decided to make it from scratch, inspired by varying games I liked. That second version proved itself too complex even in the early stages, and when I lost my works in a computer crash, I abandoned it for good.
So now, third version it is. I work hard to make the game as easy to understand as I can. In fact, it became a running joke that, every time I take my dog out for a walk, I come back with a new idea or have simplified a rule previously written! I realized recently how much work it is to think about everything when you make a game from scratch: just yesterday have I figured a way to handle natural healing in a universe where a whole race is dedicated to healing. I also try to put every cool thing I saw in the series, in the comic books... and almost everything possible in the MMOG. I want people to be able to create any character they want (or re-create anything they have seen in Canon) and not shoehorn them into classes and such. Needless to say, I have to simplify and cut corners if I don't want to create another Rolemaster!
The game is still in his early works, but it does roll well in my head. We need to test it more. It's also in French, so unless you guys are interested, no English translation is available. I'd be happy to talk more about it, though!
The game I'm working on is a LARP called Auteur Theory. The basic premise is that is a game taking place inside the head of a film auteur going through a Creator Breakdown. The GM plays the auteur and the players play characters in the script she is trying to write... But the characters also represent quirks of the creator's subconscious.
The main rules mechanic is that all rolls are basically contests over who has control of the scene. A character does whatever the player says until somebody challenges them, at which point the player has to make a check. But the check just determines who gets to tell the story at that point. The auteur has to play by these rules, too; except in exceptional circumstances (IE, the player is being a total dick and is about to be ejected from the game), the auteur has to win rolls to maintain control of the scene, too.
In practice, it should be a lot like a mixture of Charlie Kaufman's Adaptation and Whose Line Is It Anyway?

I'm working on building a setting for the Legend Game System. Full details are here
, but basically, it was put together by a bunch of dragons/gods who proceeded to go a little bit crazy. I'm trying to avert the idea that every race has exactly one culture or personality type, among other things. And yes, it's VERY inspired by The Elder Scrolls.
I've got a team (when I say "I've got a team" I mean "I started it;" everyone cooperates on an equal basis) building a massive campaign setting. The information isn't arranged very coherently yet- I'll be writing it into a book when finished- but can be found under Domhain Sceal and in the "TV Tropes builds a campaign setting" thread.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-I've done several homebrew systems. I worked on one for about five years before having to shitcan it (yay divorce), did a complete rebuild of the Mind's Eye Theater rules for World Of Darkness and have been working on my answer to the D20 system for a couple years now, to name a few.

Not a roleplaying game per se but I am working on creating my own board/card battle game. Well in part at least the board game part as been around for many years but it's all Public Domain.

Every once in a while someone posts a thread to announce their homebrew project. I think this is just swell, and decided to put up an official thread for the discussion of homebrew/indie systems and rules hacks.
What exactly is this thread for, you ask?
Here's some stuff I've been working on:
Let the rules-wrangling begin!

Need a tall, brawny fella to come by and inspect your pickle? Perhaps I may be this fella.
