"And now just as all days must end, so must this duel. Sun Dragon Inti attack his life points directly and finish this duel!" declared the tall silver haired duellist. Four rays of solar fury streamed towards the duellist's opponent who was knocked off his feet from the force of the attack. The single hologram on the field faded away and the duel was over. "Nice try. But not even the Armed Dragon can defeat my Celestial Cycle. Anyone else game?" He directed this question to the rest of the spacious cargo hold, which had been taken up by the students interested in duelling as, other than the deck, this was one of the only places with enough space for the holograms to be properly displayed.
Apollo had been one of the first in the hold, preferring to pass the time by duelling the other students and learning about their decks. He hadn't won all of them but he'd gotten a lot of wins under his belt. Unfortunately this was scaring away the more nervous students. 'Well, maybe my next opponent will be more of a challenge.'
Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon Index"Now, Lightpulsar Dragon...finish him."
The Light dragon unleashed a final attack on a student, knocking him down to the floor. Shou looked over and smiled, "Well, that was fun. Anyone else?"
He was quite glad there were not just faces from his earlier school there, mostly due to his reputation ruining any fun he might have had. This represented an opportunity to make a beautiful, new reputation here.
He greatly looked forward to it.
'That kid seems pretty good.' Apollo thought, seeing Shou finish his duel. "You there, I'll accept your challenge," Apollo declared, he then strode over to where the other duellist's former opponent was standing. "My name is Apollo, what's yours?"

Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon IndexLaura blinked and looked up from her frantic deck analysis, trying to find ways to make it work without the cards she'd sold to make tuition. The boy who'd nodded to her looked rather dangerous — all scowl and muscle.
"H-hey," she said nervously to him. Ah, Laura what's wrong with you? You're supposed to be making friends, not judging them. Her hand went out in an offering of a handshake. "Uh, sorry about that. Laura."
She'd chosen to stay back from the dueling for now, hoping to keep her win-loss ratio high. It was this year or never, and had she risked herself against the efficient duelists (like the one who manipulated the Sun-Moon loop so well, or the guy who was playing the latest cards like he'd had them his entire life) she'd seen thus far, her losses might have set her off to a bad start.
Storm and trouble won't make you make you lose your way. (Tits might, though.)"I'm from the northern pastures of England, same question to you, Shou, oh and you can go first if you want," Apollo replied somewhat impatiently. 'This kid seems a tad weird, but first impressions can be deceptive. He must be good to have gotten a place here.' he thought.

Tealove is best pony.Pony Fanon Index"Well, hello, Mikhail," Laura said back, smiling in relief when his scowl vanished. She clicked her deck back into her Duel Disk's holder. "So..."
She realised she had no idea what to say, and dug frantically in her pocket for a note she'd written down. "Uh, I'm in Adroit Stream, according to the letter I got. How about you?"
Need a GM?
Storm and trouble won't make you make you lose your way. (Tits might, though.)Laura shrugged. "I dunno; you look like the quiet, thoughtful type. But being called cunning or brave is nice, I guess. It's probably just them taking the naming too far. I mean, it's not like people at Duel Academy are literally coloured differently, right?", she said, immediately regretting the terrible joke. Get your act together, Laura! You're better than this.
"Say, do you have any idea what 'Adroit' actually means?", she said, squinting at her own handwriting to check the name.
Storm and trouble won't make you make you lose your way. (Tits might, though.)Caitlin sighed, she should've just let Michael go. Why did she try those entrance exams?! And why had her parents made her accept this offer?! Now she was getting shipped off to the frozen north.
The girl adjusted her glasses and looked around at the other students in the hold. Please don't challenge me, please don't challenge me...this is all that jerk big brother's fault!
Burn up, hurricane of justice!Daniel looked around the hold, trying to find somebody to duel.
Hey, that girl over there looks kind of nervous...
I bet a duel will take her mind off of whatever she's nervous about!
He practically sprinted over to her, equally eager both to help somebody and to alleviate his own crushing boredom at not having dueled anyone for a while.
"Hey, wanna duel?"

(◕ ヮ ◕)ノCaitlin stared for a moment, this guy was...enthusiastic. Well, maybe actually dueling would be a good way to get better with this deck. I should've just stuck with the one Michael built for me, stupid adorable cherries and marron! She took a deep breath and smiled at him.
"Sure. Do you want to go first or should I?"

Burn up, hurricane of justice!"Okay then," Caitlin replied, "I'll start."
She placed her deck in her duel disk and started it up before drawing her opening hand. "Oh! I'm Caitlin Lane by the way, nice to meet you."
So, anyone want to GM this?

Burn up, hurricane of justice!"From what I remember from French classes, 'droite' or something like that means right." She frowned, pronouncing the word (probably) wrong. "Or left. I think." Laura rubbed her temple with one hand. "Oh, who cares? I'll just look it up online when we get our PDA."
"'Adroit' is an old loanword, and means — in this context — cleverness, wisdom, or acuity of thought," Anita said mildly as she went past on her way to the middle of the ship. Laura yelped, before flushing in embarrassment. "Oh, don't make that face, Metz. Sometimes, being clever just means you know where to look," she added, a smirk playing around her expression.
"...Right," Laura coughed as the teacher went past. "Uh, there's my answer, I guess."
Having reached the middle of the below-deck area, Anita MacHearton clapped once to get the general attention of the passengers. "Listen up, ye wee daft bunch of grapes!", she hollered, slipping into her natural Scottish brogue. "We're going to reach the pier in the next quarter of an hour or so, and there'll be an address from the headmaster that you all need to listen to then. Be up on deck when the siren sounds. No, I don't care about your precious duels — be ready to cut them short and get up on deck when I come back down. Okay? Okay!"
With that, Anita went back in the direction of the stairs to the deck and the buzz of conversation resumed.
I'm already doing Badwolf-Nick, so does anyone want to GM this? I'll send you the decklists and explain how it works, if you want.
Storm and trouble won't make you make you lose your way. (Tits might, though.)You know you're not used to the environment when you're pulling a jacket that's twice the size of your torso arround you and you're still shivering like an idiot. Thankfully, busying yourself by watching duels was enough to forget about the fact that it would be so much worse in a short time.
This is why Rodrigo Diaz spent most of his time merely staring at the other duelists, trying his best to make an accurate imitation of jello and succeeding completely. This, of course, stopped the second he noticed another duel about to start.
He hadn't heard quite enough to distinguish the duelists' names, but he didn't particularly care. Even if it'd only last fifteen minutes and probably wouldn't reach conclusion. Duels tended to be overblown like that, even if they could, at times, be finished in a single turn.
I'd GM for it, but I've got a titanic headache and hafta work tomorrow, so I'm not gonna be here all day, that and I don't know how it works :/
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimari"Hm...okay."
He drew a hand, and his duel disk activated.
"To start, I play the Spell Gold Sarcophagus, which removes my Return from the Different Dimension from play."
The trap card appeared on the field before vanishing into the Gold Sarcophagus.
"And now, I summon Alexandrite Dragon to the field in attack mode!"
There was a flash of sparkling light, and a huge dragon appeared on the field. (2000/100).
"I set one card face down and end my turn."
Apollo drew his hand and activated his duel disk. 'Nice to see you, Supay'
"My move," Apollo said after drawing one card. "And I'll start by summoning Supay to the field."
A small brown mask (300/100) appeared on Apollo's side of the field, looking pitiful compared to Shou's dragon.
"And then I activate Instant Fusion" he activated the spell card "By paying a measly 1000 life points I get to Fusion Summon, my Musician King in Attack Mode!"
A man with a red electric guitar (1750/1500) formed on the field from a swirling vortex.
"Any objections so far?" Apollo asked, arching an eyebrow.

Among the waves of the icy North Sea, a boat edged its way along the coast. A moderate breeze kept the deck cold enough that it was sparsely packed, the inaugural student group of the Academia Scandinavia preferring to stay warm below-deck.
Up top, a trio of teachers huddled together for warmth on the side of the boat overlooking the snow-dotted fjords.
"You know," Matthias Bergen began in a grumbling tone. "I didn't think it was even possible to become bored of the majestic glory of nature."
"Now, now," Slado Towitka comforted him, patting him on the shoulder. "I'm pretty sure we're almost there. Remember that rock-face and treeline across it?"
Anita MacHearton squinted at the land for a few moments, before shrugging. "...Could be. I'll go and tell the kids we're almost there. Junas wanted to talk to them as a group, right?"
Matthias craned his head back around. "Don't break anything up while you're down there — kids can get crabby when they get blue-ballsed, and if I wanted to be on the same boat as fifty-odd cranky teenagers, I'd start a cross-bay cruise company in Venice. What?", he added as Slado shot him a filthy look. "Oh, like you weren't a hormonal mess at some point."
Anita only shook her head and went below deck.
Righto! Your characters can be in the middle of a duel or just beginning one, but be warned that it may have to get cut short for the entry to the Academy proper.
