Well, looks like Verlander is still in Cy Young form this year, if his first start was anything to go by.

8 innings, 2 hits, no runs, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts...not someone to mess with. Real shame the closer blew the save, though.

Detroit over Boston 3-2, awright. And still tied in the ninth. Good game!

Not that fans of the Pirates feel any better, since they're the NL counterpart of the Royals in that sense. Those two teams have been the Butt-Monkey for so long...

Yeah. Being a royals fan is like being a Cubs fan. at best you can dream that one day something miraculous might happen. But you have no serious belief in it anymore.

Hey, at least the Cubs have made the playoffs in the past decade.

So the season has opened with the Yankees down 0-3 and the Mets up 3-0. In other news, a snowball was found in hell.

Jokes aside, I'm keeping an eye on the Rays and Diamondbacks, who are so far looking like the teams to beat in their respective leagues. Of course, this is still really early, so we'll see in a couple of weeks how things shake out.

I just got back from watching the Cubs lose to Milwaukee.

I'm surprised they lost 7-5. I mean I knew they'd lose, but when we left at the top of the 9th it was 7-3. The fact that they managed to get 2 more runs is amazing.

Cards and Cubs 1-1 for this year. They will lose. The cubs always lose.

They say that about the Mets too, but we had '69! and '86!

...though it's kinda sad that the banner I have that says that is from a decade ago...

Cards have the most series wins in the national league...we are the Yankee's of the national league.
