'Its hot in here, must be Summer.'
Anyways Summer is a great actress out of what I've seen of her (a.k.a. Firefly, Serenity, her cameo in Sleepover and bit and pieces of Terminator and as seen above Big Bang Theory).
As long as we have her, the world will have someone who can kick their ass and have nice feet.
Perhaps.
Though, having starred in three cancelled shows means that she's got several black marks on her record. It's insane, but it's the way the industry works. Same thing happened to Damian Lewis when Life was cancelled.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.My roommate watched The Cape while it was on. I wasn't too thrilled by the first couple episodes, found that Summer Glau was a lead player, and said "well that won't be around for long..."

Fresh-eyed movie blog
She is in an episode of Alphas where she gets to do that. I mean, it's still a sci-fi show, but her role is different from what she usually does. Made me feel pretty old, too.
Meh. How hard can it be to get work in a non-scifi/fantasy show so we can some real acting chops.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong. She shot a pilot for TNT called "Scent of the Missing" which is supposed to be a crime drama series. I don't know if it's been picked up yet.

Well, it has an imdb page
at least.
Summer is only credited as the second lead, though. Which apparently means she'll be playing a Labrador retriever.
I liked her as a somewhat-manipulative high-school sweetheart in The Unit.
EDIT: This was in response to someone mentioning a role where she gets to emote (she doesn't emote much though). I like her just fine in most everything she's in, but not enough to gush. Morena Baccarin, though... I'll be in my bunk.

Did anyone go see her panel at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, Washington? If anyone did, do they have footage of the panel? The only footage I've found online is just bits and pieces.
EDIT: Nevermind. found it.

Like creepy stories? Check out my book!I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Dollhouse yet. Yes, it's yet another cancelled show (thank The Force she's done with FOX now, they get these high-concept, big-budget shows and then complain how much they cost and cancel them), but I thought her performance as Bennett was among the best work I've seen from her so far. I also really liked her as Cameron on the Terminator series.
Jesus saves. Gretzky steals, he scores!

Today marks the 10th anniversary in which the world was introduced to this remarkable actress (her guest appearance on Angel). The website Summer Glau Wiki is celebrating the occasion. I thought here at TV Tropes, I could start a Summer Glau thread. Where we could discuss what we love about her, our favorite Summer roles, or Summer moments in TV shows or films?
My favorite Firefly episodes are "Safe", "Ariel", and "Objects in Space". Of course I'm biased as they're River-based, but they're the three that showed what she could do. How she could emote. Also, be creepy while still be cute.
And she kicked ass (literally, and figuratively) in Serenity.
I didn't see too much of the terminator series. Maybe a few episodes. But, the one that sticks in my mind is when Cameron goes crazy, and Sarah has her pinned by a truck, and John is hesitating whether to pull her brain chip, and Cameron begins crying and pleading John not to. It's startling because Cameron was mostly stoic that entire time (except in the pilot).
Despite only having a 2-minute cameo in the chick flick "Sleepover", she still has the best moment. Though it;s still unfortunate the casting director felt Summer was appropriate for a Hollywood Homely role.
I hear so many nice things about Summer. I hear a lot of people saying they'll watch a show just for Summer. I hear stories about how nice she is. In fact, I'll meet her on April 1st at Emerald City Comic Con, which I'm excited for. She's definitely become one of my all-time favorite actresses.
I also like her feet.
