Wes decided he might as well share, and he said, "...on my off time, I like to practice with my sword. I...also sometimes like reading poetry...sometimes..."

He smiled a little, a bit awkward, yes, but such was to be expected.

Since all of the others were chiming in, Valon figured he might as well join them.

"I also practice swordsmanship in my spare time, when i'm not practicing vocal technique or trying to compose something new..."

Ah, the stage where everyone makes smalltalk. His least favorite part of being reassigned.

"Swordsmanship. A worthy pursuit for a person of the law." There was a smirk half hidden by the brim low brim of the Blood Crow's hat. "For those of us who fight the monsters that besiege us, one should feel just as comfortable with the blade of law as with the knife of an assassin and the lance of the hunter. We must be able to slip into any role neccessary for our hunt." She noticed that there were stares coming her way.

"I enjoy neo-gothic poetry."

"Poetry is interesting, can't make one though." Shirley said. This time it was a genuine response. Ever since Marcus made those corny love poems for her, she occasionally took a peak at those literary arts, if only to see if they were as bad as his.

"I enjoy making my own equipment, mostly explosives. Sheaths take too much time and resources to create."

Wes nodded at all of this, agreeing with the assessment that warriors in this day and age needed to be able to switch to different styles as it were. His companions were quite skilled, and these together would definitely be a match for Kaiza.

Agi decided to contribute, saying, "I quite enjoy books on the history of spells and mana in general."

"We Knights share much the same way of living, then."

"Literary, and inflicting agony."

Faris continued. It almost looked completely natural to her, going with the flow of the conversation even amidst the people who, merely a day ago, were complete strangers to her. Complete, that might not be, but strangers they were. She moved her eyes around, observing each of the Knights as they revealed themselves a tad more.

"Now, for something not completely ridiculous, you should try reading 'The Ruin Principles.' It's a compilation of old myths of the five D'Ellund, the Vile Beings. Obscure and superstitious, but a good read."

"And, speaking of music, ser Tiyo, the composing part still gives me nightmares to this day. There was this old Knight in the Gargoyle. Corinth, his name, and he would always challenge us to drinking games in free evenings. Just an excuse for him to drown himself in ale, obviously, but the whole thing became intolerable because he had to sing freshly improvised nonsense everytime. And it was awful, truly, truly awful."

She laughed, with a look of contentment on her face, but that was if one did not look closer. The laugh, the trace of happiness, all hollow. Days like that were long gone for her, and it was probably for the best. Things change, and rarely for the better.

"That really does sound terrible. Music isn't something that should be wielded like an instrument of blunt trauama by drunkards." Valon winced at the thought, almost seeming slightly ill.

To combat the nausea induced by such a terrible, torturous story he returned to staring out the window.

"I quite liked the Ruin Principles, personally. When you've been an Exorcist for long enough, tales of the D'Ellund stop seeming so rediculous."

Granted, he had initially read the book as a child. The Guild's libraries had an surprising lack of youth friendly reading material, besides which he had only been allowed to read books deemed necessary for his training. Still, he admitted that it was probably the closest thing he had read to a fairy tale.

Wes nodded, he had heard some stories about those things, some stories said they were the ancestors of the present day Demon Lords, while others claimed they were something completely different than a regular demon.

Wes added, "Yeah, music at the whim of a drunk sounds like it'd be awful..."

Agi smiled a little and said, "Erm, I have read of these D'Ellunds, mostly from that tome you described." He seemed to recite a passage directly from the Tome, "On Wing of Black and Wing of Light, Lord of Quickest Terror soars 'cross the land, bringst death in one hand, and life in the other, Contempt for Man in its blackened heart."

He then looked around, "Quite a scary customer, eh? I personally wouldn't want to meet anything like that."

Wes could not help but feel a little excited by the information shared by Agi.

The part of him he did not like to acknowledge felt a thrill at the idea of fighting this "Lord of Quickest Terror."

"So...what do you guys think of this? Doesn't sound like any other demon we've fought before..."

"Sounds kinda corny." Shirley responded. "Though it seems popular to have a really corny nickname for demons." She wasn't particularly scared of them, no matter how powerful they were.

Faris laughed. Rather mildly, considering it's a laugh, but she tried to keep the politeness going as long as possible.

"I wouldn't disagree with you on that account, Miss Lystander. The D'Ellund are given many names. The Ruin Principles itself has at least a few dozens for Aphedia incarnations alone. The original names would do for me. Lord of the quickest terror, that'd be Chrodia."

"Myself, though, I don't find them too derserving of a slaughter. They seemed much more civilized than the contemporary demons, that is, if they're the precursors of demons at all. They represent things that are natural to all of us. Hate, desire, they're simply that. Us."

Agi related to this, "Indeed, these demons seem to, more and more, resemble some sort of being that is formed around basic human traits, lacking an ego for itself...hmm, what would you all do should you find one of these precursors?"

Wes nodded a little, "Fight it."

Agi chuckled a little at that, "That seems to be your recourse for everything...I know you quite well, friend."
