1 Tommy Gunn vs. Clubber Lang

I used to think Tommy Gun and Mason Dixon were the lowest of Rocky's main opponents.

Then I realized that Rocky III was Rocky at his absolute worst. He might have been older in V and Balboa but at least he had focus and determination. Rocky's whole character is based upon his heart and resolve. When Lang beat him Rocky was supremely under-trained and completely unfocused. Lang beat him because Rocky just wasn't really in the fight.

When you factor in also that Lang wears himself out in no time at all, it makes him look even worse.

So i think Tommy could take it. Thoughts?

2. We all know Drago killed Apollo but that was a Creed who had gone to sea. What are the odds of a Prime Creed vs. Drago?

1. Clubber Lang wins by TKO.

2. Drago would have won by decision. Creed had the strength but Drago was doped up like crazy and his punch could break bones and potentially damage your brain. Rocky suffered temporary brain damage after his bout with Drago.

With questions that include Apollo, you can sort of say "What would Muhammed Ali have done?" since he's a bit of an Ersatz for him. In fact, you might want to try that for each boxer.

Actually when a fan once ask Stallone what his opponents would be doing after their respective movies, he answered:

  • Clubber Lang would become a TV Fight Analyst and convert to Evangelicalism
  • Drago went home to Russia a disgrace, got divorced, became an alcoholic and died a lonely man
and
  • Tommy Gun moved to the Midwest and became a third-rate wrestler

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

I am going to be controversial here and say that Clubber Lang was the most dangerous opponent to face Rocky. Remember, he was the first guy to crush the Rock, hell, he forced Mickey into a heart attack.
