I have to note that Xanatos Gambit and Narm aren't really particularly clear on what they mean.

Well one does have some misuse, which also was due to a bad description and lack of sister tropes, but I still stand by that it's better to go for clarity and witty if we want terms to catch on, and catch on correctly.
The problem is the attempt by fans to try and get their favorite work or quote to become a title as a way to pimp the work, as opposed to the trope.
Fight smart, not fair.^By Rule of Cool, it would be witty, especially if you add Xtremely Kool Letterz.

Is it a new system or a bug?

No, it's definitely TRS. Check Princess Curls.

Question for you folks...
I recently came across the trope Gayngster, which sounds like it's related to the trope Gayngst but it's really not. Do people think it is a good idea if tropes have similar names like these?
And another question, what about pages like The Trope Formerly Known as X? Is "trope as a placeholder" still deprecated?

You might want to start a Trope Talk thread for Gayngster instead of discussing it here. I'd say the name is fine.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. The Trope Formerly Known as X was given a free pass during the mass clean-up of the trope as placeholder tropes. Whether that pass is still in effect, I don't know.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Bumping, because I noticed something: There are 20 or so crowners in TRS that are call-able, but don't get called. What is to do with them?
And before anybody says to holler them, I'd like to have some staff opinion before hollering 20 crowners, especially since I'm not very creative at writing crowner call request hollers.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHoller them. Just don't holler them all in one big clump. Give us five or so at a time, please, and you dont have to be wildly creative, just including the page name would be enough. Something like "Crowner on <foo> appears stable. can it be called?" will do.

Thanks, especially the number part. Should not be too hard to wait until one 5 batch has been replied to before sending another.

I agree 100%, though I'd prefer a cap of 300 by way of 400.
Just deleting threads doesn't get rid of the problems they were opened to address. Threads get ignored because there are simply too many threads to pay attention to them all at once. Being ignored doesn't automatically mean that a thread isn't necessary, it just means that too few people have their attention spread too thin over too many things.
Focus will make the individual threads resolve faster, and focus will help get the work done that needs doing, that often clogs TRS threads at the end.
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.

Of course. I meant going for witty alone, and hoping it catches on despite the lack of clarity. A name that does all three is awesome because then it's both catchy and indicates the trope.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
