Tokyo had seen better days.

As of late, there had seemed to be an outbreak of some hitherto unknown illness that left its victims drained of their energy. However, no matter how many tests were done on the patients, there seemed to be nothing wrong with them aside from the obvious, and since whatever was afflicting them didn't seem to be contagious at all and seemed to strike almost at random doctors were left baffled as to what was actually the cause of this.

Not only that, but the city seemed to be hit by a sudden increase in jewellery thefts. Intial suspicions supposed that the criminal organization Panther Claw was making a comeback, but these suspicions were quickly brushed to the side after it became clear that the crimes didn't match their pattern at all. And wherever the thefts and the outbreaks of the energy draining illness appeared, there were rumours of monsters, inhuman things with powers exceeding those of mortal men. Some took the form of humans, whilst others were far less subtle about their true nature.

Even worse, several young girls had mysteriously gone missing as of late. Nothing was known of what happened to them, although there were some reports of a strange, cat-like creature being sighted accompanying the girls not long before their disappearances.

But, as bad as things were getting, there was still a ray of hope. Rumours had been spreading about several people dedicated to fighting back this tide of darkness, angels of mercy and bringers of hope to a world hurtling into despair. Just like characters from an anime, these "magical girls" appeared out of nowhere to save the day, before disappearing as suddenly as they arrived. Of course, there were some who seemed to stray from this pattern and embraced the limelight (there seemed to be an entire merchandising empire building on Sailor V's image in particular), but most seemed to exist only as urban legends.

???

Darkness filled the vast, cavernous chamber, a darkness only illuminated by the glow of the crystal ball placed in front of her throne. She ran her long, talon-like fingernails across its surface, almost basking in the light it let off.

"Have you found it yet?" she asked, her gaze not averting from the orb.

"My humblest apologies," a handsome man spoke, kneeling in front of his queen. "I will make sure that, in the very near future, I shall obtain the "Legendary Silver Crystal"."

Her face showed no emotion as she continued to stare at the ball. Only the fact that she replied indicated that she had even been listening to her servant. "Our Great Ruler desires power. We must gather energy... And we must locate the "Legendary Silver Crystal" immediately!"

"I understand," the man said, getting to his knees as he began to shimmer. "And I, Jadeite of the Dark Kingdom, take that responsibility, Queen Beryl."

With that, he was gone, leaving his queen alone in the darkness.

Usagi

Today had went just as well as any other, really. Usagi has slept in yet again, and had to stand out in the hall due to her tardiness. When she'd finally been let back in, she wasted no time in completely ignoring the lesson and trading gossip with her friend Naru (apparently Sailor V had foiled a bank robbery the previous night). The day passed by pretty quickly, and soon enough the bell signifying lessons were over for the day rang out. Picking up her bag, the dumpling-haired girl started on her way back home, although she'd planned to stop at the game center on the way. At her heels was a black cat, who would've looked like just an average, normal black cat were it not for the patch on her forehead shaped like a crescent moon.

Well, that and the fact that she was holding a rather animated conversation with Usagi.

"Usagi-chan, you have to hurry up and find your allies!" the cat said to her, "With their help, we can discover the location of the princess and protect her!"

"But Luna... Do we have to? Like, right now?" Usagi whined, still not too enthralled with the new role the cat had thrust upon her. Sure, being a warrior of justice sounded like fun, but it was hard work! She'd much rather be goofing off than fighting evil by moonlight. "Besides, it's obvious who my allies are!"

"Oh? And who might they be?" Luna asked, not exactly relishing the answer.

"Tuxedo Mask!" she replied, a dopey smile spreading across her face as she thought about her sharp dressed saviour. "He's gotta be my ally, right?"

"I am... Still not sure of his motives, Usagi-chan," the cat began, but she hurriedly quietened down as some others passed close by the two. Then again, it would be a fruitless exercise to try and argue this particular point. So with this, the two continued along their way to the game center in silence.

For that day, school had ended. It had went fairly well, no problems. Everything seemed fine, too! Fate had completely recovered by now... Nanoha was happy to learn that. Today seemed to go so well, it would've been easy to forget the crisis that was going on, and how serious things were. The Book of Darkness was gathering magic every day, and they still didn't know who its Master was. That meant that, now that Fate had recovered from her linker core being stolen, they would have to get back to work as soon as they possibly could in hopes to stop the Book's completion.

For the moment, however, Nanoha was simply cheerfully leaving school with her friends. Smiling, she continued onward, away from the school building. Raising Heart was around her neck, tucked into her school uniform. She needed her device on her at most times, she had to be prepared! For the moment, though...

Nanoha turned towards Fate, who was behind her.

"How are you feeling, Fate-chan?" she asked. Considering that she had just recovered, Nanoha wanted to make sure her friend was alright.

A hunched over shape was sitting in a student's desk at one of the local high schools, the drapes near his window closed. A narrow slit of light peeked through, afternoon brightness being blocked by a text book placed upon someone's head full of pale grey hair. As the final bell rang and the others filed out of the class, the hibernating figure finally dragged himself from his napping spot and staggered up. Yawning , the teenage male sauntered outside of his class.

The moment he step foot out the building complex, the slightly muted glow of dying afternoon light hit him. Wincing and covering his eyes, Ayumu snapped open a parasol and held it above him to block the sun's rays. Having provided enough of a barrier between him and the ball in the sky, the student slowly walked home. Let's see... We do need some food...

With that in mind, the youth then headed toward the shopping district. Hopefully there were still some cheap beef left at the supermarket. Finances had to be kept in order to support the three girls at his house. "Maybe a hotpot tonight?" He muttered, scratching the back of his neck in idle contemplation as he went along his way.

"Ah, I'm fine! I was just hoping that we don't have to play dodgeball again," Fate answered, smiling at Nanoha and thinking about how that game had gone. Strangely was probably the right word but... so much was strange. In just a few months, she'd gone from her mother's tool to a criminal on trial to under Lindy-san's care. Everything was still taking some getting used to.

The Book of Darkness problem was actually easier, in comparison. It was... simple, for want of a better word. Fight, stop the book from being completed, and bring its Master to trial. Hurting innocent people like that... what sort of person could possibly condone that behaviour?

"That's great!" Nanoha replied, happily. It was wonderful to know her friend was doing well, now! But no more dodgeball? Oh, well, that was okay. Even if it was fun, that last game had gone pretty weird. In any case, Nanoha couldn't let herself be too distracted. She had to keep in mind that they might need to spring to action at any moment, and stop any more innocent people from getting hurt. She still felt like she might have a chance to talk to the Wolkenritter and find out why they were doing this, something felt strange about it all...

"I guess we don't have to play dodgeball again," Nanoha added. She didn't think talking about the Book of Darkness right now, in earshot of regular students, would be a good idea.

Progress was steady, but nowhere near as fast as Signum hoped.

Arms crossed, Signum leaned back in the couch, deep in thought. The Book of Darkness required many pages be filled, and they'd only managed to reach roughly six hundred and sixty... about a quarter of the progress done. Having to gather the linker cores in secret impeded their progress, but if they gave Hayate a reason to worry...

No, she shouldn't dwell on this. The mistress would definitely know something was wrong. The girl was pretty sharp. There was still plenty of time left to cure Hayate. For now, she should enjoy the time they have together with the others.

Smells wafting from the kitchen indicated that the dinner Shamal and Hayate were cooking was underway. Good. The Belkan knight glanced down at the blue, wolf-like creature dozing on the floor, next to Vita who watched the TV.

I wonder, how long will it take for us all to sit here together, in peace? Signum pondered briefly, before waving that thought away. Instead, she watched whatever Vita was watching. After dinner, they would have to search once again for more Linker Cores...

Mitakihara Town

"Mami-san... um..." Madoka spoke, trying to form the right words to speak to her new friend. New to witch hunts, new to the entire world of magic, she didn't know what to say and she didn't want to sound stupid.

"You can ask me anything you like, Kaname-san." Mami spoke with her usual calm demeanor. Sayaka looked to Madoka before sliding a glance back to the older blonde girl.

"Hey, Mami-san... how exactly are we going to find the witch?" Sayaka asked before sliding another glance at Kyubey who sat snugly in Madoka's arms.

"The Soul Gem." Mami replied, holding the strange, glowing egg up and into view.

"W-wow! I-it's pretty Mami-san!" Madoka said, her eyes sparkling in admiration for the glowing yellow rock. This was what gave a magical girl strength? This is the source of their power? The same thoughts ressurected from before. Maybe she could make a difference if she...

Madoka wasn't paying attention and both Mami and Sayaka spoke back and forth to one another regarding the tracking property of the stone. "So... you walk around until it starts glowing?" Sayaka cocked a brow, tilting her head to the side.

"Exactly." the magical girl turned around as she continued on her walk.

"That's boring." Sayaka sighed, "I thought this would be more exciting... hey, Madoka, hey!"

"O-oh, Sayaka-chan! Hehe.. sorry."

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." she smiled, nodding to assure Sayaka she was fine but deep down, she had conflicting emotions. She wanted to fight and help Mami but on the other hand she remembered Homura's warning.

"Hurry you two, you'll get left behind!" Mami said, not turnign to face the girls.

"U-uh.. coming, Mami-san!" Sayaka ran after the girl with Madoka following shortly behind.

En Route to Mitakihara

Sakura Kinomoto itched for the chance to take to her own two feet, but the train was so crowded that she was lucky to be able to stand comfortably. As it stood, she was surrounded by tall and stoic businessmen, not at all an interesting sight for a ten year old bursting at the joints with unchecked energy. She simply had to keep herself still for now- difficult, since the train's velocity was bouncing her around- and hope she would soon arrive at her location.

Sakura had rarely visited places outside of Tomoeda, mostly because the idea had never really struck her as appealing. Her father, her brother, Yukito, they were all in Tomoeda, so that's where she wanted to stay. But when she had opened Kero's book and reluctantly become the Cardcaptor, she had shackled herself to the whims of the Clow Cards. At least that's what Kero had told her. At any rate, it turned out that almost none of the cards had landed anywhere nearby- the vast majority of them had flown far further than could be comfortably walked to. Thus, several things had occurred:

A long argument between Kero and herself wherein he had convinced her of the need to start traveling, primarily by baiting her with guilt. She had after all, more or less been at fault for the release of the Clow Cards, though to be fair Kero had been sleeping on the job.

A subsequent incredibly awkward conversation with her father where she had requested permission to apply for a world class gymnastics troupe. It had been a precedent, as while Sakura was most definitely capable enough, she also had none of that ambition and was happy to stay around with her family and go to school like an ordinary girl. But as Kero had said, she was no longer an ordinary girl and she had a job to do. Her father had been happy and proud that she had such aspirations, though some tears were shed by the daughter when she had made the team and some tears were shed by both father and daughter during their parting.

Now Sakura was here, having drifted away from her team and chaperon, all talking excitedly among themselves. She would have been pleased under any other circumstances to make their acquaintance, but right now she was simply too apprehensive. The first city the team would be stopping off in would be a Mitakihara, where the team would do a demonstration at the major high schools of the city. Sakura had heard that there were cool things in Mitakihara, where cutting edge technology was in more frequent use than her own hometown of Tomoeda. That only added to Sakura's apprehension, she had never seen such things as 'holoscreens' before.

But what especially worried her was what she was supposed to do when she got there. Kero, who was right now sleeping soundly in her backpack, would have no way to track a Card until it showed itself. Furthermore, the team had many practices scheduled, and a lot of hours were eaten up by either that or curfew. How was she supposed to seek out the Cards, and defeat them when she found some? Were the cards even going to be around? What if they were in small towns where the troupes wouldn't go? Her simple child's life had suddenly inflated into a complicated mess. Sakura exhaled heavily, then reassured herself with a smile. It would be alright.

"Mitakihara."

The doors opened and the troupe along with Sakura pushed and shoved it's way out. Everything was glass, chrome, shiny. Sakura's eyes widened, her troubles momentarily fell by the wayside. Mitakihara didn't disappoint.

Shopping District

Right at the entrance of the shopping district stood a strange, rather garish looking stall crewed by a beautiful green haired woman and a handsome blond man wearing sunglasses. It was rather difficult to ignore them, not least because of the steadily growing crowd around the stall, but because the woman was shouting rather loudly as she tried to pitch their product.

"Come one, come all!" she yelled, as the blond man exchanged cash for bottles of some strange green beverage. "Be the first on your block to try Energade, our brand new, thirst quenching ENERGY drink! Refresh your ENERGY like never before! One taste of this and we'll... Um, I mean, you'll get so much ENERGY! Hahahah!"

Mitakihara

Well, Artemis had told her to be more... What was that word? Pro-something... Productive? Pro-choice? Pro-wrestling?

Proactive, that was it. That was why she was here, after all. After hearing about all of those children going missing... It had to be the work of the Dark Kingdom, right? Only they would do something so underhanded, after all. As soon as she heard the rumours she had to go check this place out.

She'd been rather overwhelmed to begin with, to say the least. Sure, it was supposed to be a super-modern place, but she'd really not been prepared for how modern it was. It went way past modern, really. Futuristic, even. But soon she'd gotten the hang of the place. She wasn't a dumb blonde, after all.

...Well, she liked to think she wasn't. She'd been doing a good job so far, even thwarted a bank robbery the other night, so she must be pretty smart, right? Only a smart person would think of tailing that suspicious blonde with the curls, after all. She seemed nice enough, but something about her just... She didn't seem quite right. Could she be an agent of the Dark Kingdom? She was luring the blue haired and pink haired girls somewhere unknown, so it was always a possibility. But she had to be sure before she made herself known. For now, Sailor V, Warrior of Love and Beauty, followed the girls from the rooftops. The moment she did anything suspicious (the jewel thing didn't count; she knew that girls loved showing off their jewellery) she would leap down and save the two potential victims. Because she was a superhero, and that's what superheroes do.

...But it was so boring! And they were taking so long...

I guess it's like what they say... A washed kennel never soils. She thought for a moment. Wait, that's not right... Right?

As Ayumu made his way into the shopping district, the horde of people caught his eye. Curiosity overcoming the slightly bored teen, he ambled his way closer to the... rather strange stall. As the words "Energy" kept assaulting his ears, he merely dismissed it as some sort of sales pitch. Still, it was still rather bright... and he did kind of drift near the strange pair's stall. "Might as well get some after coming this far..." Ayumu stated to himself as he dug in his wallet to check if he had spare change.

Heatherfield

"Shootshootshootshoot," Will muttered as she hurried down the streets of her town, "I'm late, I am so late. Why didn't that stupid alarm clock wake me up?!"

"She tried, you wouldn't wake up," The phone in her hand answered, blinking blue as it spoke.

Will quickly put the bothersome phone in her pocket, "Nobody asked yo- aaaah!"

The red head tripped on something, landing knee first on the ground. The foul smell that intruded her nostrils could only mean one thing... "Blunk! Why is your garbage in the middle of the street?!"

"Not garbage, Blunk take to Meridian. Trade," The green, foul smelling goblin looking thing protested from it's spot in the alleyway.

"Ugh... I don't have time for this...." Will sighed, as she stood up and picked up the offending trash that tripped her. She walked into the alleyway and held it out to Blunk, "Here, take your gar-"

A flash of light and both Will and the passling was pulled into it. Next thing the red head knew, they were dumped off into some coast near a city that was way too big to be Heatherfield.

"-bage...? Okay, please tell me that just didn't happen..."

"Oooh, new city, Blunk find treasure for trade."

"No! No finding treasure, we're going home!" She protested, pulling out the Heart of Kandrakar and held it up. She willed it to open a fold in time and space that could send them home. She willed it and willed it but... nothing happen. "Wh-why isn't it working? Blunk, use your horn!"

"About that... Blunk left horn in Irma's garage. Safe keeping," The green creature said, backing away slowly from Will and her soon to be forthcoming wrath.

"..." She was stunned into silence for a good minute or so before the inevitable explosion, "This cannot be happening! Blunk, I am going to wring your little green neck!"

"It was fun, though," Fate said, continuing to walk along before some vile stench assaulted her nose. Just... what was that? What could possibly smell so vile? Had a sewer burst? Looking around carefully, the blonde saw... a green thing. Small. Green. Ugly. It was almost certainly the source of the stench, more so than the redhead it was with, but it probably wasn't a good idea to attack it straight away... but it was so tempting, just to see if it could get knocked into the sea and cleaned up a bit.

The truly awful scent that assaulted Nanoha's sense of smell caused the young girl to cover her nose with one sleeve. Wincing, she tried to locate the source of the odor, and her eyes came to rest on a little... green... thing? What was that? There was an older girl with it... Nanoha took a glance at Fate, who seemed just as confused as she did. Stepping slightly closer to he friend, she resolved not to attack the creature. Just because it looked and smelled so offensive didn't mean it was something evil.

"Hello?" she called, her voice muffled on account of her sleeve blocking her nose and mouth.

The blonde in the Sailor suit wasn't the only one keeping tabs on the trio. Not too far away, a girl with long black hair and slightly empty purple eyes was watching them as well. But it wasn't the blonde with the curls she was interested in. It was the pink-haired one. but at the same time she was keeping an eye out for something else. But there wasn't a pair of beady red eyes peeking from the shadows.

The red gem glowed in Kyouko's hand as she turned a corner. Almost there, she thought, raising a fish-shaped biscuit to her mouth with her other hand and greedily chomping down on the sweet pastry. The witch wasn't far now, and Kyouko had to make sure she got the Grief Seed before anyone else could.

At the sight of a blonde-haired girl she knew all too well, her anticipation at the thought of achieving her objective evaporated. The tell-tale golden glow of Mami's Soul Gem could only mean she was also on a witch hunt. Kyouko scowled. She should have known some other magical girl would show up and run off with what was meant to be her prize. At this rate, Mami was going to get to the witch first. She couldn't let that happen.

"Hey! That Grief Seed you're after's meant to be mine!" she shouted, running up to Mami. "And nobody takes what's mine if they know what's good for them."

Will was just about to make good on her threat and wring the little green neck of this passling when she heard a child-like voice greet her with a hello. She reacted quickly, grabbing Blunk and clasping her hand over his mouth, "O-oh, uhm.. hello. I was just out giving my.. er... very realistic looking goblin doll.. a very much needed bath in the ocean. So don't mind me!"

The passling managed to wiggle his mouth out of her grasp, "No! No bath for Blu- umphh."

"Shush you," Will hissed at him, lowly. Oh and if this wasn't bad enough, her phone decided to go back into nag mode.

"Will, you should really call your mother. You're lost and you don't know how you got here, and your mom is probably worried sick about you," It nagged from her pocket, making her pull it out.

"I'm not calling my mother," She muttered at the phone before realization hit her, "And I should probably stop talking to my phone like a lunatic in front of other people...."

Unbeknowst to Will, however, these girls weren't ordinary and could potentially hear the phone talking.

"Hey, young lady!" the green haired woman pointed at a girl with bushy brown hair who was still in her school uniform, and held out a cool, refreshing bottle of Energade. "Would you like to feel more ENERGEtic? Nothing fills you with more ENERGY than our new flavour, Atomic Cherry Bomb! Say, what's your name?"

"Um... Naru Osa-" the girl began, but was cut off when the woman opened the bottle and forced it into her mouth.

"Your name means nothing to the almighty ENERGY of Energade!" she screamed ecstatically, like a mad scientist celebrating her creation rising from the slab. "ENERGY! So much ENERGY! ENERGY running all the time! Like it's made of lightning! REAL LIGHTNING ENERGY! Abnormally high ENERGY! FOUR HUNDRED BABIES!"

"Um..." The handsome man seemed somewhat taken aback by how exuberant his companion was acting, and turned to Ayumu as a way to distract himself from her. Compared to the woman's rather garish dress, he was dressed somewhat conservatively, in a smart looking suit. The nametag pinned to his chest made it clear that his name was "J.DYTE". "So... How many cases of Energade can I interest you in, young man? You'll have to be quick though. Since they're so cheap they're selling out pretty fast. Soon we'll be getting energy from the whole prefecture!" He coughed awkwardly. "I mean, providing energy for the whole prefecture. Yes."

Game Center Crown

Usagi was greeted cheerfully by Motoki, the owner of Game Center Crown, as soon as she entered, which led to her practically swooning into the seat by her favourite game. She'd always had something of a crush on the young man, after all, even if he was slowly being replaced in her fantasies with Tuxedo Mask.

But what if... she thought, as she guided the pixelated form of Sailor V through a particularly difficult level, What if Motoki is Tuxedo Mask? They look about the same age... And they're both really cute... So they have to be the same guy!

Luna, meanwhile, had perched herself on the game machine next to the one Usagi was using, and as the building was half-full this afternoon, simply lazily sat watching the girl once again lose both the game and most of her pocket money. She wanted to ask her contact if he knew anything about the other Sailor Senshi, but she couldn't with all these people around. It would be too easy for one of them to notice what she was doing, after all. So for now, she would wait.

Mitakihara

"...Another one?" Sailor V was surprised when the redhead showed up, but she quickly composed herself. The new girl seemed to feel just as off as the blonde, and what was worse was that she seemed a little too confrontational for her liking. But she needed to get a closer look. If this was all a misunderstanding she'd end up looking really stupid, after all. She lept across gracefully and, although she now had a better view of the four girls, she was surprised to find yet another girl, this time one with long black hair, standing near where she landed.

"So you think they're suspicious too, huh?" she asked the dark-clad girl, before realising that she was also getting that weird feeling from her too. "Um... You're... Not with the Dark Kingdom, are you? Because that would kinda, um, suck, since I'd kinda have to fight you and all, ahah!"

Frowning a bit as he heard the man slip up, the zombie paused. Narrowing his eyes, he looked the supposed salesperson in the face. "...That depends. Heatherfield, in the basement of the Silver Dragon

"I'm taking the last box down now, Grandma!" Hay Lin yelled from the top of the basement stairs. Today her and the other girls were supposed to be helping cleaning the restaurant for the health inspector's visit tomorrow. Apparently there had been one too many calls about the smell that would pop up sometimes. More than likely coming from one little passling smuggler who always found time to drop in.

Irma should be already down in the basement straightening things out, while Taranee and a reluctant Cornelia had decided to go on kitchen duty. The only one missing was Will who should have been here an hour ago. Hay Lin was starting to get worried about her friend's absence and it seemed none of her calls were getting through.

"Irma have you gotten any word from Will yet?" She asked the brunette as she placed the box down on the ground.

She didn't have time to get an answer however, as a flash of light appeared and sucked them in as it had Will. They ended up in the alley of a nearby shopping district, Hay Lin landing with a thud on top Irma.

Hay Lin blinked, taking in the scenery and the over enthusiastic yells of ENERGY, "I don't think we're in Heatherfield anymore..."

Mami stopped her walk. The familiar voice of Kyouko Sakura. She closed her eyes half-way, turning to look at the red-head. Long ago she was a friend, an ally, but times change and so do people. "Ah, Sakura-san, it's been a while. How have you been?" she smiled, trying to hold a level-head in front of her juniors.

"Um..." Madoka looked to Mami and then to Kyouko. "Mami-san is she a magical girl too?"

The blonde nodded, glancing back at Kyouko. "You know I'd be more than willing to share the Grief Seed with you, Sakura-san." Mami, in vain, attempted to reach some sort of compromise. If things went the way they thought they would, they'd end up fighting. She had to try though, for the sake of her former friend.

"Mami-san? Uh..." Sayaka stepped forward. One glance at Kyouko and then another at her senior. "If she's a magical girl, shouldn't you guys be fighting together?"

"That would be nice but... things don't always work out like that, Miki-san."

"Huh...?"

"It's because they want to get paid." Kyubey spoke up, trying to ease Sayaka's misunderstanding.

"Get paid...?"

"Grief Seeds are a magical girls compensation for once they defeat a witch." his tail swished from side to side, even though he was still in Madoka's arms.

Madoka didn't say anything after that. Those conflicting thoughts rose up from the darkness of her mind and begin to gnaw at her heart. She wanted to help Mami, but she still didn't know what to wish for.. and Homura's warning...

Honey Kisaragi sighed as she was killed yet again in the Sailor V game. She couldn't figure out for the life of her why the game was giving her so much trouble. It couldn't be as difficult as fighting actual villains; yet she hadn't even gotten past the first level.

She sighed in frustration. She'd come to this town after hearing rumors that Panther Claw was returning; but so far she hadn't seen any sign of them. This wasn't the first time she'd chased down a lead that turned out to be a dud. Nowadays, she was starting to wonder if Panther Zora simply died of old age. Or maybe gotten hit by a truck.

Irma was confused. One moment she was in the basement of the silver dragon; and suddenly she was standing in the middle of a strange alley. She briefly wondered if they were in Meridian; but decided that that was unlikely. For one thing, she was pretty sure Meridian didn't have energy drinks.

Before she could further explore her new surroundings; however, another girl fell from the sky and landed on her. As soon as the girl spoke, she recognized her as Hay Lin.

"Yeah, I gathered that," she said. "Mind sitting on somewhere else?"

Kyouko glared at her former friend. The offer of the Grief Seed sounded tempting, and knowing Mami, she would most likely stay true to her word. It was obvious what would end up happening, though. If she fought alongside her former ally, then Mami might get the idea that they'd put aside their differences, and expect her to fight familiars. Then they'd have to go through the same mess as before by parting ways again. That would be a headache Kyouko could do without.

"Oh yeah?" she said. "Nice try, but that isn't gonna work on me. I know what this is about. You want things to go back to how they were before, don't you?" She ate the rest of the biscuit before continuing. "If you really think I'm gonna start helping you out again with your pointless battles for justice and happiness and all that crap, then you've just gotten even dumber."

What's the point in giving up when you know you'll never stop anyway?

"Given that I've never heard of this "Dark Kingdom" you're talking about, that would be a reasonable assumption."

The bushy haired girl who had identified herself as Naru finally finished the bottle that had been practically forced down her throat, and fell to her backside, looking rather a lot paler than she did before.

"Hah! Look at all the ENERGY! Uncomfortably ENERGEtic! ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY! Drink Energade and you'll win at everything ever! You'll have as much ENERGY as Sailor V on crack! WARNING: Energade may contain VAST AMOUNTS of ENERGY, phenylalanines, evil, electrolytes and ENERGY! EEEEENEEEEERGYYYYY!"

"Ah, um, ignore Energia, she's... Just a little too into her job." J.Dyte ran a hand through his quite frankly gorgeous hair as the other one reached below the stall and produced a green bottle of cool, refreshing Energade, which he handed to Ayumu. "Here, have one on the house. Be sure to drink it up nice and quick. You too could gain a nice, healthy, deathly pallour like that girl! There's now so much energy!"

"ENERGY!"

"...Quiet, you."

"Wah, stupid game!" Usagi gave the machine a good whack as it used up the last of her pocket money. "I swear it's cheating me somehow..." She noticed that the person sitting next to her, a slightly older looking and far more developed girl, wasn't having any better luck at it. "Um, hey... You have to duck under those buzzsaws. You can't jump high enough to go over them." Feeling like her luck had suddenly gotten better, she held out her hand to the busty girl. "As thanks for the tip, you could always give me enough yen for another game, ahah~"

Usagi wasn't the only one to notice the strikingly statuesque girl sitting beside her. Aside from the lustful gazes she was getting from several boys (and even some girls), Luna had became transfixed with her. The hair... The physique... And that great power I sense from her... Could it be? No, she couldn't be... Could she really be Sailor Venus?

Mitakihara

The sailor suited blonde stared at the black haired girl for a few moments, clasping her chin in an inquisitive pose, before breaking into a giggle. "Ahah, I guess not. You're not dressed like them, for one thing. There wear these, like... These tacky suits that went out of fashion in the eighties or something. Weirdoes."

Her gaze momentarily switched back to the girls she had been trailing. She was relieved to find that they hadn't went and disappeared on her, probably thanks to the argument the redhead was having with them.

"So, no point asking you if the blonde's with the Dark Kingdom if you don't even know who they are in the first place," she said as she turned back to girl beside her. "Unless her name's the same as a gem or a jewel or a mineral, that's kind of a tell-tale sign, ahah! Um... Say..." She took a moment to awkwardly adjust her mask, before winking at the other girl and flashing a big smile and a V-sign. "You don't look like a bad guy, so how about helping me? I mean, you're obviously trailing the same girls I am right now, and it'd be much easier with two of us. Whaddya say, wanna be Sailor V's sidekick for the day?"
