[up] I mean, the entire quote is Bad "Bad Acting"; his tone is extremely dull as he speaks (he's pretending to be lost to demonstrate an idea to Mac). Exclamation points usually carry the more "active", "aggressive" tone to me so it'll feel like he's yelling which he isn't.

Perhaps I could add some of the dialogue right before that to help with the context:

Bloo: Hey, I just got an amazing idea.
Mac: You're going to eat socks?
Bloo: (sarcastically) Yes, I'm going to eat socks.
(Bloo walks away leaving laundry behind)
Bloo: (pretending) Oh no, I am lost. Where is Mac? Oh look, a trail of clothes. I will follow it.
(Bloo follows the trail of laundry)
Bloo: (still pretending) Oh, Mac. I have found you. This helpful trail of clothes has shown me where I have been, and where I have not. Thanks to them, I am safe from my lostedness. Oh thank you, helpful trail of clothes, I love you.

For Unwanted Gift Plot?

"When is a gift not a gift?"

[up] Not sure about that one. The trope is supposed to be about pretending to like a gift, but if Baron Harkonnen said that, it seems he isn't pretending to like his gift.

The page quote on Neon Genesis Evangelion was just changed from:

"This is a giant robot saga the same way Twin Peaks was a cop show."
Comic Buyer's Guide

to:

"Zankoku na tenshi no you ninote
Shōnen yo shinwa ni nare"note

My vote is to restore the old quote, mainly for brevity and the lampshade of the show's nature. Thoughts?

[up]It can go either way. The opening of Evangelion is easily one of the most memorable (and memetic) in history, and probably the first thing one hears when they start watching, so it's not unreasonable to have it introduce the page as well.

And it describes the show as well as the former one — which requires the reader to know what Twin Peaks is to be understood.

I'm more concerned by the unilaterality of the edit.

[up] That too; I thought about reverting it straightaway but decided it'd be better to get a decision that can be cited in a tag.

Film. The Fantastic Four First Steps had its quote changed from this:

Reed: Before we went up the first time, you couldn't turn invisible. Ben wasn't a rock. And Johnny never caught fire.
Sue: Ben has always been a rock. Johnny is... Johnny. And I am right here.

To this:

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world — indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
Margaret Mead

[up][up][up] [tup]

The current quote on 20 Minutes into the Future doesn't seem to be illustrating the trope.

"In the year 2015, they got everything wrong."
Caddicarus, on LEGO Drome Racers, which was released in 2002

The trope is about works that use some futuristic technology, but are otherwise recognizable to real life. That quote seems to be describing Zeerust or Failed Future Forecast instead. The quotes page quotes aren't any better, so can I leave it blank for now?

The Security Blanket page quote is overly long. May I shorten it to this:

"I need my blanket! I admit it! Look at all of you! Who among you doesn't have an insecurity? Who among you doesn't depend on someone, or something, to help you get through the day?"

"Your father was an average fighter, Kal-El, but he was a brilliant scientist!"

[up] I'm not sure. The longer quote helps to illustrate that a Security Blanket is not necessarily a blanket.

Maybe we could Take a Third Option and use the Fairy Tail quote from Quotes.Security Blanket.

I think the "someone or something" part already generalizes it, but yeah, the Fairy Tail quote works too.

The quote on Object Shows doesn't actually say anything about what the genre is about.

Welcome to our brand new society! (Society!)
We're all as happy as can be! (Can be!)
United are we in our cardinal values three,
Yes, welcome to the OSC!
OJ, Suitcase and Cabby, "Welcome to the OSC!", Inanimate Insanity IV, "The Future is Today!"

The quote within context is about the society that the characters created after the In-Universe version of the show ended and them separating themselves from the show and its host. The OSC being the same acronym as "The Object Show Community" is just a case of Fun with Acronyms. This actually stands for "Order, Saftey and Co-operation". Even separating the quote from the context, the quote really doesn't describe anything about the shows.

The page doesn't have a quotes page, so should it be left blank for now?

I don't like the quote for My Death Is Only The Beginning

Daisy Fitzroy: But... you mean I won't live to see the — no...
Robert Lutece: It's up to you what matters more.
Rosalind Lutece: Your part in the play...
Robert Lutece: Or the play itself.

This trope is about a person who is willing to die to spur a greater action, and while from what I read in the examples below, Daisy does die, this quote is more about her initial hesitancy on the matter. It's not the affirmation, "I will take the path of my death."

I would suggest as a replacement this line from One Piece 2023 when Garp talks to Rogers about his impending execution.

Garp: I warned you. You brought this upon yourself.
Roger: That I did Vice Admiral. Now I'm bringing it to one and all!

Or this line from Kierkegaard

"The tyrant dies and his rule is over; the martyr dies and his rule begins."
— Soeren Kierkegaard

[up] Because the other one, which was much shorter, was interpreted as sarcastic and they suggested the use of exclamation marks, which I didn't feel was a great idea because the line is delivered in a very dull tone and exclamation marks tend to imply yelling and other active tones.
