This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/).
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread
in the Image Pickin' forum.

Poetic Serial Killer is currently being discussed on IP because the image showed neither the "poetic" nor the "serial" aspect of the trope. I say the quote have the exact same issue, if not worse. It relies on the additional "caption" to show why it's "poetic" and it's not clear that person talking is actually a killer, much less a Serial Killer.
An editor named Decaf Grub 47393 is deleting multiple entries from SignatureLine.Live Action Film with the reason "Having too many quotes for Signature Lines means they don't stand out as much". In the ATT query
I raised, it was suggested bringing the editor to this thread to see if this is something that needs consensus.
Current for Engineered Heroics doesn't really capture the trope IMO, and seems more about a character causing destruction to reap the economic benefits of war, not being framed as a hero for stopping problems they intentionally caused to get good publicity. The quote does mention Frost solving their own problem but doesn't really frame them as being treated as a hero for it.
IMO, I think the quote from The Incredibles works better.
Mr. Incredible: You mean you killed off real heroes so that you could... PRETEND TO BE ONE?!
Syndrome: Oh, I'm real. Real enough to defeat you! And I did it all without your precious gifts; your "oh-so-special" powers! I’ll give them heroics. I’ll give them the most spectacular heroics anyone’s ever seen! And when I’m old and I’ve had my fun, I’ll sell my inventions so that everyone can be superheroes. Everyone can be super! And when everyone’s super... (laughs evilly) no one will be.

If all else fails, use fire. How about a truncated version?

If all else fails, use fire.A quote suggestion for Eyelash Fluttering I pulled from the examples folder, what do you think?
It's in!
A quote that I think could use a swap is for Casanova Wannabe, it's just a dumb pickup line with no context and doesn't really describe what the trope is about. For the sake of description, I much prefer the Big Bang Theory quote from the Quotes page, but tell me what you think
My favorite sci fi enemies are the giant sexy depressed women
I'd say either that or the Mulan quote are good replacements.
Potential page quote for Monster Brother, Cutie Sister, thoughts?
The quote on Angst Dissonance is unreasonably long.
"They complain most who suffer least."
Do we really need the huge first paragraph that retells the entire fable? I think the last line on its own would be suffient, since it's fairly illustrative and to-the-point
I agree that it feels redundant to the description, but I don't know if no quote at all would be better. (I don't have any strong feelings either way.)
Maybe we can replace it with a part of Tony Stark's message from the quotes page?
I have a question about the quote on
The quote itself is fine but my problem is all of the links as we aren't supposed to link quotes at the top of pages. Am I good to remove the links?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe "page quote" for Creator.Raul Julia is an in-jokey reference to a movie quote of his, as opposed to an actual quote.
Should it be formatted like a quote or just a regular line?

From Ultimate Spider-Man (2024):
So, only one issue of the series is out so far, and this version of Peter Parker isn't even Spider-Man until the last few pages.
The quote seems long, and the explanation of the basic premise just duplicates the article intro.
I'd like to cut it and wait until we've got something short and snappy that reflects the direction of the series. Views?
