This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/).
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread
in the Image Pickin' forum.

Requesting consideration for a shift in the bottom quote for RWBY V9 E8 "Tea Amidst Terrible Trouble". While spoilers are unmarked as a rule for the recap pages for that work, I'll encase the quotes and other material in spoiler tags below, partially due to the sensitive themes involved (suicide, ego death).
Context: In this episode, the main character, Ruby Rose (who the top and bottom quotes currently come from, is subjected to a Breaking Speech by an antagonist (whose power is to make lifelike clones of people), and as a result is driven to undergo "ascension" - a process which was (Watsonian) contested in meaning (Reincarnation, Cessation of Existence or both) but is known to involve ego death and (Doylist) visually coded as a suicide.
Her current top quote (not requested for change) is:
Her current bottom quote (change requested) is:
The proposed bottom quote, part of the antagonist's Breaking Speech, is:
Or are you ready to admit the truth... that the world would just be better off without you?"
Thank you.

Would you like to know more? Can't find a trace of Unacceptable Targets' quote on the internet. How sure are we that it exists? It was added in 2013.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Unsure if there's somewhere better to put this, but I came across Quotes.Wedgie and feel like it'll need keeping an eye on. I already sent a formatting notifier with an added attempt at explaining how to format quotes, but I'm not sure that'll change things. Most of these quotes are just web articles that discuss wedgies. Any thoughts on this, or is this outside the scope of this thread?

Oof, what a mess. Reads like it was edited by someone with a, ehm... fixation on the subject. I think we can go ahead and delete a few of those (in particular the Wikipedia quote that just describes what a wedgie is) and reformat anything worth keeping.
Reposting the following because they didn't get a response (or if they did I missed it):
The quote on Thong of Shielding seems to just be two people stammering over someone attractive wearing a thong. A quote that says something about a thong being close to nudity might be good, but short of that I'd be in favour of just getting rid of the current one, it just comes across as pervy.
The quote for I Will Only Slow You Down is almost word-for-word the same parody of the trope as appears in the page image. Propose this instead:
Matitya wrote most of the page. If I get a chance I'll see if they're making similar lewd edits on other pages (and report them to ATT if they are) — I know they got reported in ATT
a while back over unrelated political agenda-related concerns.
I cleaned up the Quotes page and reformmatted a couple that seemed like they legitimately belong there.
There's a whole bunch of edits on the same topic across different pages, though tbf the entries themselves don't seem particularly inappropriate; to be charitable it could just be a case of zealous crosswicking by a Single-Issue Wonk.
Proposal to add a quote to the top of the Jumping the Gender Barrier page:
Ryu: Like, like you, like you.
Ryu: It kinda clicked for me after I turned into a girl and stuff.
Ryu: And isn't like, "boyfriend" the next level of "best friend" if you think about it?
Ryu: No deeper bond than a guy friend turning into his other guy friend's girlfriend.
I'm currently formatting the quote this way to match the source material, in which it's five text messages in a row from a single account. Posting here because, one, I'm uncertain whether to include the whole quotation or just the final one/two lines, and two, the quote source
has an associated image that's stated to be SFW but still considered by the host site to contain themes not suitable to all viewers without an account, so I'm not 100% sure if this will even be eligible.
Kind of Blue has two quotes. Which to keep?
Any thoughts on Thong of Shielding or I Will Only Slow You Down?
I Fell for Hours has the page quote come from Super Mario World, which is also the Trope Namer. The quotes page has a few good replacements:
Juni: (looks at watch) I don't know. My watch doesn't tell time.
Carmen: Best guess.
Juni: I'd say about three hours.
Carmen: Feels like four.
A general policy question - when a work isn't episodic, does a quote on its own page still need to include the work name as well as the character name?
Administrivia's text formatting page suggests it does.
Just thinking of examples like NIMONA (2023) - the quote is from the title character, but should it be attributed to the work, or can we skip that bit if it seems self-evident?
BTS' quote changed as seen here
without discussion apparently.
- We can revert to the old one since it's more fitting to be a page quote:
Do your thang with me now
Do your thang
Do your thang with me now
What's my thang?
What's my thang, tell me now...
- Or use this Boastful Rap about the group:
Principles, got them
Good music, got them
Good team? Goddamn!
- Or RM's UN speech:
Which quote is more interesting to a non-fan?
Uncanny Valley Hot Babes in Your Area Are Looking To Know YOU! Click Here to Sign Up for FREE! | Not quite back tbh. Don't expect much. The Boastful Rap makes the most sense to me as a non-fan.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailOn a similar note to the Nimona query above - the quote on the Creator.Alan Moore page was attributed to Alan Moore, but a troper's just deleted the attribution
.
Should we restore it?

The current for Monstrous Cannibalism isn’t really indicative of the trope by itself and relies on the description to give context.
The only quote from the quote page I thought was short enough and works on its own was from Ahh Real monsters:
Oblina: True, but I never said we don't eat other monsters.
