The quote for Bookshelf Dominoes doesn't demonstrate the trope w/o knowing the context

Dr. Bey: [stutters in disbelief] Oh, look at this! Sons of the pharaohs! Give me frogs, flies, locusts! Anything but you! Compared to you the other plagues were a joy!
Evelyn: I am so very sorry. It was an accident!
Dr. Bey: My darling girl, when Ramses destroyed Syria, that was an accident. You are a catastrophe!

The page pic which provides some context (and even then the quote is still not particularly compatible), but that then violates the informal rule against having the pic and quote come from the same source.

Vote to pull?

Quotes need to be able to stand alone, so if it doesn't demonstrate without context, it can be pulled for that alone.

The quote on Music.Super Ghostbusters appears to have been unilaterally changed by Tropedarmatitanic from this:

"THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO RAY PARKER JR., THE ULTIMATE DEATH METAL MASTER!!!."
— "Ghost Boston"

To this:

"Busting makes me feel good."
— "Ghostbusters (Busting Makes Me Feel Good)"

TBH I like the first one better, unless we want something even more descriptive. Revert, change, or keep?

It's All About Me got changed. I'm assuming it was unilateral? Thoughts?

Original:

Fry: Bender, this has nothing to do with you!
Bender: That's impossible!

New:

"It's all about me.
It's all about me, me, me
All about me.
Not sure why this happened.
Why there's music in the air.
Could be that machine.
Kicked in.
But I don't really care
I'm sure to win.
That contract
Now that I can stay on key.
Did I mention
It's all about me, me, me?"

[up][up] Revert.

Didn't get much feedback, but I did get one revert so I'm going to revert the Super Ghostbusters quote.

EDIT: And done, though something happened with the formatting.

Any feedback for this query? This trope might need TRS, but in the mean time, I think we shouldn't be using a misleading quote.

[up] Agree on both points—that the quote should be changed but that we might need a TRS. B/c honestly, until you pointed it out, I thought the trope meant the latter. And based on the name, I think that's what it should be. The current trope meaning sounds more like an Informed Attribute, while Hollywood Style tropes are usually about how Hollywood has ridiculous standards for what is considered normal (i.e., Hollywood Homely).

[up] But that's precisely it. The Hollywood part of Hollywood Dateless is there for a reason. Otherwise it would just be Dateless which I think it be Chairs.

[up] The alternative would be something like Informed Dateless, not just Dateless. Hollywood Dateless sounds like Hollywood Homely, Hollywood Thin, Hollywood Old, etc, in all of which "Hollywood" means "the character is supposed to be [adjective] even though the actor is hot". Informed Attribute is "the character is supposed to be [adjective] even though the narrative shows them not acting [adjective] regularly".

[up] Yes exactly! I think given what we typically mean as "Hollywood" — that Hollywood is creating standards that don't apply in real life — does not apply here, which is causing the confusion. What the trope Hollywood Dateless actually means is that within the work the character has dated several people but is treated as dateless, making it more of an Informed Attribute. Tropers are wrongly assuming it means that "a person who in real life would likely find it easy to find a date are finding it hard to date w/n the work's universe," b/c that is typically what Hollywood Style trope signifies. Like I would think of Hollywood Dateless as Chris Evans in Ghosted (2023). So it's not a Chairs problem, though it may be a YMMV like Hollywood Homely.

I don't think it's YMMV because it's about something objective in the text (how often they're shown getting dates) versus a subjective matter of appearance (being attractive, skinny, or fat). Which kind of gives more of an argument for not using "Hollywood" though Hollywood Old also fits the former since age is objective.

This is all something to be checked via TRS though.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

The quote on Self-Made Man does very little beyond stating the trope name. From the quotes/ subpage, I like these two the best:

Herb: Why did I ever hire you Harvard deadheads?!
Board Member: Because you went there, sir?
Herb: Yeah, but mommy and daddy didn't pay my way! I had to work my way through washing your dishes and scrubbing your toilets!
Board Member: Oh yeah, now I remember you.

I added the quote the quote for Hailee Steinfeld after finding it in here.

"I've definitely had some tough shoots. I'd say everything that I've done has had some sort of challenge that I've had to overcome. But it's the most satisfying feeling once you have and that's what I love about acting, sort of signing on to it knowing that it's going to be challenging."

I still like it but I think I the site I found it on mixed up the first sentence and the question (the question was "Have there been any particularly tough shoots?") and I am sorry about that. It actually goes like this according to the actual interview:

"I’ve definitely had some tough experiences since True Grit. I'd say everything that I've done has had some sort of challenge that I've had to overcome. But it's the most satisfying feeling once you have and that's what I love about acting, sort of signing on to it knowing that it's going to be challenging."

Or if we don't want the first sentence:

"I'd say everything that I've done has had some sort of challenge that I've had to overcome. But it's the most satisfying feeling once you have and that's what I love about acting, sort of signing on to it knowing that it's going to be challenging."

I apologize for this mistake. Thoughts?

Proposing this quote for Emergency Refuelling. It's better as a longer quote (though it might be too long) but I think the episode title does a good job of conveying the context behind it.
