This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

The quote on Combat Stilettos doesn't actually give any indication that the speaker is talking about wearing heels, and has to spell that part out in the attribution line. Would any of these from the quotes page work better?
The following quote from Pregnancy Does Not Work That Way was removed by syckls back in February:
Mrs. Garrison: Don't you tell me what I can and can't do with my body! A woman has a right to choose!
Doctor: No, I mean you're physically unable to have an abortion, because you can't get pregnant.
Mrs. Garrison: But I missed my period.
Doctor: You can't have periods either. You had a sex change, Mr. Garrison, but you don't have ovaries or a womb. You don't produce eggs.
With the following edit reason:
So while this quote was removed due to someone not liking it, I actually agree that the removed page quote is veering towards transphobia. Is it too transphobic to keep? And if not, does it illustrate the quote enough that it could be restored?

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI think it brings a lot of awkward baggage and hasn't aged well (and, well, South Park has always been gleefully offensive). There must be quotes out there which don't rely on that to make the point. Agree with cutting it.
That said, looking at the page, there's surprisingly little that has been troped there, rather than on subtrope pages.

I agree the current quote for Combat Stilettos doesn't work and imo I'm leaning on saying the Teen Titans one is the best.
I don't feel the quote illustrates Pregnancy Does Not Work That Way and should remain removed, regardless if you keep in the mind the episode's transphobia or not. Granted, I don't know how accurate the first part of the edit reason is. Also granted, I'm a plain ol' cis woman.

Since there was consensus to leave the quote for Pregnancy Does Not Work That Way off the page, and no suitable replacement could be found, I will leave the quote off the page.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallBrainwashed and Crazy recently had its quote replaced with a huge Wall of Text. It used to be this, which I think is pretty decent:
Permission to switch it back?
agreed, the old quote is much better. It seems to me the new one barely fits anyway
Alrighty, I came here before for one Better Call Saul page, now I'm here with another - specifically, it's Nightmare Fuel page and it's Awesome Moments page. For NF, how's this one from Lalo Salamanca sound?
Meanwhile, for Awesome, I'm torn between two:
Jimmy McGill: Hey! I just talked you down from a death sentence to six months' probation. I'm the best lawyer ever.
Or, Nacho Varga's last words:
Thoughts for any of them?
Am I the only who looks at the current quote for Preemptive Shipping and doesn't really see the trope demonstrated. Like it supposed to be fans shipping two characters before an upcoming work releases. I don't get that from the current. I feel like this one from the quotes page demonstrates it better.
Full disclosure I added it to the quotes page before I really looked at the current quote and found it lacking. Now if anyone has any better examples or prefers the current that is okay. This could just be me.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThat is more illustrative. However the first sentence is irrelevant and "as far back as September" needs the context of the series release date. Perhaps:

Yeah that version works better on my opinion.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe quote on Same Content, Different Rating doesn't appear to be talking about the trope.
e: It was added in 2016 by Van Hohenheim Of Xerxes with no evident discussion.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Feel free to remove it.
Anymore opinions on the Preemptive Shipping quote.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI feel your suggestion illustrates Preemptive Shipping more than the current and I feel Twiddler's suggestion for it at (x5) helps give it more context.
(x3) I don't feel that illustrates Same Content, Different Rating either, so I'd remove it.
Can you have the same quote on two different quotes pages? If not, where should I put this quote? It's from a LiveJournal review of The Batman Adventures comic "Two-Timer".
For context, there is a panel where Two-Face cups Bruce's face while taunting him about blowing up Gotham◊. I was initially going to put this in Ho Yay given how weird it looks out-of-context, and how the quote acknowledges slash-goggles. But now rethinking it, I'm pretty sure Ho Yay is for stuff that's gay in context, and it might fit better in No Yay, given it's Two-Face, Harvey's friendship with Bruce Wayne has gone down in flames at this point, and the quote finds the subtext squicky.

Sandbox help wanted. From what I know, there are no rules against it. However, it still is disfavored.
Boyfriend-Blocking Dad is about a father who is vehemently opposed to his daughter dating a boy. The quote only indicates that the father is immature, which doesn't even describe half what the trope is about. There's only one quote in the subpage that succinctly demonstrate the trope:
I agree that's a better option than the current quote. The current quote is vague and sounds like it could be about either immaturity or Papa Wolf.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.ComicBook.The Punisher Purgatory has this:
Punisher: I don't want to talk about it.
Apart from the pothole, that's a quote from a different comic, 16 years later, poking fun at the Audience-Alienating Era that Purgatory and its sequel are associated with.
I’m strongly tempted to cut it. Thoughts?
I agree that's a better quote for Boyfriend-Blocking Dad.
Should the quote on Creator Backlash be moved to the in-universe version Old Shame?
Keet cleanupFor Opportunistic Bastard I would like to suggest this exchange from Leverage where a character is self-referential about his own bastard behavior and the protagonist using it to get his own goals:
- Jim Sterling: You know your entire plan depended on me being a self-serving utter bastard.
Nathan Ford: Mm, yeah, that's a stretch.
Without context, it's not clear the second character is being sarcastic. I could get behind it if a [sarcastic] tag were added.
Since Weapon Of Choice was renamed to Weapon-Based Characterization, the page quote, lyrics from the aptly-named Fatboy Slim song "Weapon of Choice" no longer has anything to do with the trope (and even before the change, it was more or less a Title Drop that said little to nothing about what the trope was). My suggestion for a replacement:
As for the old quote, I was hoping it could be moved to the disambiguation page that is the old Weapon Of Choice. Are disambigs allowed to have quotes? If the answer is no, I have no idea where the old quote could go, save the trash can.

What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Okay it's added but without the Disney slam.
