The quote on Metatron is quite specific to the universe of His Dark Materials. I'd suggest this replacement:

"Metatron acts as the Voice of God. Any documented occasion when some yahoo claims that God has spoken to them, they're speaking to me. Or they're talking to themselves."
Metatron, Dogma

The quote on Good with Numbers is unclear. Maybe change to this:

"I've always said to myself that if a little pocket calculator can do it, why shouldn't I?"

The quote on Smells Sexy is as follows:

"You vampires. Did anybody ever tell you the whole smelling people thing's a little gross?"

I don't think it demonstrates the trope at all and is completely ZCE about why any sniffing is taking place.

There's no quotes page, and I've gone through both the examples on the page and spot checked some of the wicks, but I can't find a decent example to replace it. Can we just pull it until a better example is found (unless anyone can think of a good replacement, of course)?

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.

[up][up] Some quotes from Brisingr:

[…] Nasuada noticed that a certain odor surrounded him: a salty musk reminiscent of dry juniper wood, oiled leather, and smoke. It was such a strong smell, and so obviously masculine, Nasuada felt her skin go hot and cold and crawl with anticipation, and she blushed and was glad it would not show.
— Chapter 11: Bloodwolf

A fresh cloud of his musk drifted over Nasuada, and even though she was hard with anger, her joints weakened and she was assailed by thoughts of bowers draped in silk, goblets of cherry wine, and the mournful dwarf songs she had often heard echoing through the empty halls of Tronjheim. Distracted, she said, "I would Eragon or Arya were here, for they could have looked at your minds without fear of losing their sanity."
Again she succumbed to the wanton attraction of Blödhgarm's odor, imagining what it would feel like to run her hands through his mane.
— Chapter 11

Blödhgarm's musk surrounded him like a cloud, thick and heady, a warm, smoky scent that contained hints of crushed juniper berries and that set Saphira's nostrils to tingling. All the women in the Varden seem to have fallen in love with him, she said. They stalk him wherever he goes, desperate to talk with him but too shy to utter so much as a squeak when he looks at them.
— Chapter 14: Amid the Restless Crowd

One-Steve Limit is No Straight Examples, Please!, but I don't think that should mean that the page quote should be about the aversion. Especially since we have Significant Name Overlap and other tropes for characters sharing names. In fact, most of the quotes in the subpage are aversions of the trope, which should probably be moved. Here's a few quotes that at least lampshades the actual One-Steve Limit and not describe its aversion:

I told you I have two rules, Uncle G. No more than 40 or 50 vans, and only ONE Steve allowed!
Pizza Steve when Uncle Grandpa brings Steven Universe in his RV, "Say Uncle" crossover

Principal Skinner: Bart, I'm flabbergasted. Surely you knew as you were writing your own name in forty-foot-high letters on the field, that you would be caught.
Bart: Maybe it was one of the other Barts, sir—
Principal Skinner: THERE ARE NO OTHER BARTS!!!
The Simpsons, episode "Principal Charming"

Memes.Metal Gear: the quote has a labelnote saying that's his actual dialogue and it had a "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer pothole added to it in February. obviously that needs to go (fucking what does it take to get these people to stop doing shit like this??) but the whole labelnote seems unnecessary to me. should the whole thing be cut or just the dumbass pothole?

[up]I think that can actually be replaced with a Sincerity Mode pothole since "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer is misused. However, I feel it might be for the best to flat-out cut that label note.

[up]x4- One-Steve Limit: I vote for the first quote, as it more explicitly captures the quote.

[up][up] We shouldn't be using Sincerity Mode potholes in that way on the wiki either. We can generally delete any "promise we're not making this up" interjections anywhere on the wiki.

Just noticed the current page quote for Conditioned to Accept Horror

"You get used to it."
The Priestess, Goblin Slayer

I get that this makes sense in context, but on its own it doesn't really mean anything

I think we can keep it if a few preceding lines are added (unless that conversation is about something else entirely).

[up](x4) I didn't see anything on its main page stating that, it just says it's used to clarify that something that may not seem genuine is genuine.

[up](x3) I agree the quote doesn't work by itself.

Some quotes from Brisingr:

I'd say the first or second one would be best. The third one does mention his scent and that a lot of women are attracted to him, but doesn't quite link the two together. The other two quotes do.

The first one has the virtue of being more compact than the second.... but I hesitate to favour it because it uses "and" so much. [lol]

Re One-Steve Limit: I personally prefer the second myself (I think it helps that the name used is not actually "Steve"), but any more input before I change it?

Re Conditioned to Accept Horror has a few good clearer alternatives:

"Three more kids died tonight.
——ly surprised. Locals barely care.
——ness as usual.
"
Journal, Sleepless Domain

"This boy was brought up in a time of blood and dying and never questioned a bit of it."
Josey Wales, The Outlaw Josey Wales

He seemed a sullen, patient child; hardened, perhaps, to ill-treatment: he would stand Hindley's blows without winking or shedding a tear, and my pinches moved him only to draw in a breath and open his eyes as if he had hurt himself by accident and nobody was to blame.

[up][up]I actually feel the third is the best, though I feel the second works too. If you do choose the final one, however, you'll need to remove the Big Brother Bully pothole.

I agree that the third one is the best of those three, but im not completely sold on it.

What about this one?

"Hey," I begin, nodding up at the sky. "What's that red thing?"
He takes another swallow of water from his bottle, following my gaze. Then he makes a sad face. "Souls," he answers quietly. "Human souls. They… uh, came spraying out of Rei's neck during Instrumentality."
I nod silently. It seems like this should shock or horrify me, but now that just kind of seems… par for the course.
