This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/).
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread
in the Image Pickin' forum.

I don't think either of those quotes work for someone who isn't familiar with the show (like me). The first quote is completely without context, and the use of 'it' exacerbates this problem further. Who? What? Object? Person? Creature? What is it?
The second quote at least makes it clear that the subject is a Pokemon, but the quote comes across as saying people have a belief it brings disaster until they engage with it and realise the truth. In which case, it's not an example of Cassandra Did It. If it is, the quote does not convey that.
I can't currently think of any alternatives beyond this one (I'm using the official Viz translation for this):
Kurotsuchi: If I had waited for authorization and it escalated into a situation beyond urgent... that is something I couldn't take responsibility for.
Yamamoto: If your Research and Development Department had reported and managed it more promptly... this situation may have been avoidable.
Kurotsuchi: That is not true. I foresaw and suggested this situation the moment Uryu Ishida, the Quincy, infiltrated the Soul Society as a Ryoka. It was you who disregarded that as being absurd.
But I'm not a hundred percent sure about that quote either, and I can't think of anything else.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I think the first Pokemon quote suggested by Orbiting works. As someone who isn't familiar with the game/Pokemon in question, I understood it right away. It could use a mention of the Pokemon's name, though. For example:
Either of those works, I'd lean towards the second.
Any suggestions for a replacement for Student–Master Team? Only thing I've found is the following:
This page quote was added unilaterally to Too Powerful to Live:
- He must stand trial.
He has control of the Senate and the Courts. He is too dangerous to be left alive!— Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu talking about Palpatine, Revenge of the Sith
Besides bad formatting I suspect it's misuse as: 1. They fail to kill them and I believe this trope requires they die. 2. They are referring to political power when I believe the trope is more about physical/magical powers.
Thoughts?

Works for me.
Yeah, that's not describing Too Powerful to Live- its not something the characters in-universe feel, its a reason writers need to kill off some characters: if they don't, the characters would logically dominate the whole story due to how strong they are. None of that is conveyed by the quote.
Yeah, that's probably best for now.
Adding "Absol" to the first quote is meaningless. It's combined with "it", which doesn't explain who or what Absol is supposed to be.
I think you've got more knowledge of Pokemon than I have, given that you at least know some Pokemon names. I don't even have that level of knowledge. I know there's a small boy that has a squeaky yellow blob called Pikachu, which somehow became a phenomenon outside the work and has turned up all over the place as a result, and that the phrase "gotta catch them all" comes from this work. That's it. That's the total sum of my Pokemon knowledge. That's why the quotes are ZCE to me.
I agree with the Student–Master Team quote, and the problems with the current Too Powerful to Live quote.

I really don't think it's hard to at least infer that Absol is an entity capable of perceiving things and responding to what it perceives. from those sentences. Your argument kind of comes across as a "Red Paint" Argument.
Maybe the entry from Shield?
I prefer the original quote because the "appears" makes it clearer that it's being at the scene of the crime that gets people suspicious. Whether we use "it" or "Absol" does not matter to me.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Historical Hero Upgrade has two quotes, both from the same person. Which one is better?
Neither of them work on their own: one is from the fictionalized version of the person, contrasted with a quote from the real person. I say both should be removed and we use a different quote. These 2 from the quotes page seem promising:
Make up some corny shit about me chopping cherry trees
It's hard to control a people if their founder's a thug
So they'll teach that I was all prayers, puppies and hugs!
Robbed travellers at gunpoint; money, watches, anything!
My horse it wasn't called Black Bess, although that's what you've read,
Was no romantic hero, shot not one, but two men dead!
The legend that surrounds me misses out the crucial part,
I was a ruthless killer with a ruthless killer's heart!"
We kinda lost discussion on No One Gets Left Behind. The current quote illustrates the title, but not the trope.
Maybe this from the quotes page?
The quote in The Nth Doctor doesn't seem to illustrate it or even have anything to do with recasting. Most quotes in the Quotes page have the same problem. I added this quote (with potholes) to the Quotes page some time ago:
But I'm not confident about it since 1) it's my own translation of an Indonesian quote rather than an official one, and 2) maybe it's better if the page quote talks about in-universe explanation in general rather than only the "plastic surgery" explanation. Is there any better quote or is it okay to use mine?
"Your father was an average fighter, Kal-El, but he was a brilliant scientist!"The quote for Shall I Repeat That? has nothing to do with dialogue prompts that ask to be repeated, except via very loosely alluding to a work that has it.
My musician page
Agreed, that quote fits more with Annoying Video Game Helper than anything else. Cut. There's not any real good replacements in the quotes page. The trope page says that Jumanji: The Next Level plays with this, so maybe something from there would work? I've never seen it, but maybe someone who knows it better than think of something.
The quote for Disney Owns This Trope is blatantly not an example of this trope. It's more of an example of Clumsy Copyright Censorship. Here are some possibilities for a replacement.
Lawyer: Go ahead, but don't use A-flat or G-natural. Those notes are owned by Disney.
Homer: [groans]
Lawyer: That's A-flat.
Homer: [groans in a higher pitch.]
Lawyer: That's better.
Ted Hoffman: Yeah?
J. Jonah Jameson: Call the patent office, copyright the name "Green Goblin". I want a quarter every time somebody says it!

I like either the Spider-Man or Stephen Colbert ones.

It's definitely better than the current quote; I'm cool with putting it in.
Hate at First Sight's quote is overly long in my opinion; I think it can be shortened to when they both first exclaim they hate each other.
Elphaba: I felt the moment / I laid eyes on you
Galinda: My pulse is rushing
Elphaba: My head is reeling
Galinda: My face is flushing
Both: What is this feeling? / Fervid as a flame, / Does it have a name? / Yeeessssss! / Loathing! / Unadulterated loathing.

You do realise that I'm talking about my own confusion with the quote, yes? I really don't have a problem with the consensus being against me, but I do think that accusing me of being irrational just because I was more confused than other people on the thread is rather inappropriate.

Would either of these work as a quote for Cassandra Did It?
