Definitely delete it from Troubled Abuser, in my opinion. Never mind the duplication, it's just a bad quote for that trope.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

Agreed. Either one of the ones on the quote page would be a better alternative. I prefer the first one, because it's shorter.

I found one day in school a boy of medium size ill-treating a smaller boy. I expostulated, but he replied: 'The bigs hit me, so I hit the babies; that's fair.' In these words he epitomized the history of the human race.

Homer: He said I was an accident, he didn't wanna have me.
Marge: You didn't want to have Bart.
Homer: Yeah but you're not supposed to tell the child.
Marge: You tell Bart all the time, you told him this morning.
Homer: [flustered] But when I do it it's cute!

The quote in Troubled Abuser is removed for now. I still think the alternative quotes in the subpage describes The Chain of Harm more than Troubled Abuser though, and I'm actually wondering if it should be moved over to the other trope instead.

The first is about someone hurting a weaker/lesser being because they are hurt by stronger people whom they can't fight back against. The latter is a broader trope where someone becomes abusive because they've had a hard life that may or may not involve being abused themselves.

The quote on Kung Fu-Proof Mook could use a change.

Jaba The Hutt is not a mook. He's more of an example of Contractual Boss Immunity. He happens to be immune to the mind trick simply because Luke's rescue of Han would go too easily if he weren't.

Jaba The Hutt is more of an example of Contractual Boss Immunity.
No, CBI is a gameplay trope that violates story sequences. Examples of creatures immune to the Jedi Mind Trick are listed on Kung Fu-Proof Mook. It doesn't seem to be a subtrope of mook.

The quote of Ultimate Marvel is based on the Kids Versus Adults trope, which was hardly used. Genetic Engineering Is the New Nuke and Beware the Superman are more frequent tropes there, in all of their comics, and it is almost the imprint's trademark theme. So I propose this other one instead:

"Crime is becoming super-crime. Terrorism is becoming super-terrorism. Even the fattest, most stupid politician on Capitol Hill realizes that Son of Star Wars is going to be useless against the kind of problems America's really facing out there."

Unkempt Beauty currently has this quote:

"Go upstairs, take off your makeup
Fold your clothes neatly away."
Jethro Tull, "Fire At Midnight"

Which, to me, doesn't sound like this trope in the slightest and instead is either instructions to a dad after refusing to let his daughter out or just a particularly woman ending her night.

I'm assuming from context it's about a woman not needing makeup or... clothes to be sexy but I feel like I'm meeting the quote more than halfway here.

What about this chestnut from Firefly:

I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in... engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

[up]I've been ninja'd. I just came here with the Unkempt Beauty quote in mind as well.

Sadly, we can't use the Firefly quote because it's being used as the Wrench Wench quote.

I've been racking my brains to try and think of a replacement, but am coming up blank right now.

Ah, nutz.

How about this from the quotes page:

I hope that you don't take it wrong

I had a thought. It's a character called Taiba from The Belgariad, who is considered extremely beautiful even though she doesn't doll herself up, no matter what state she's in. Here's a couple of quotes about her:

"The woman was lying beside a small pool of water. She was dressed only in scanty rags, and she was very dirty. Her hair was a lustrous black, but badly tangled, and her face had a resigned, hopeless look on it. She had wide cheekbones, full lips, and huge, violet eyes framed with sooty black lashes. The few pitiful rags she wore exposed a great deal of her pale skin. Relg drew in a sharp breath and immediately turned his back."
Enchanter's End Game, The Belgariad

"The cloak slipped from her shoulders as she turned, and the few rags she had for clothing scarcely concealed her nakedness. Despite her tangled hair and the dirty smudges on her limbs, there was a lush, inviting ripeness about her."
Castle of Wizardry, The Belgariad

"The Marag woman, once she had bathed and been given decent clothes to wear, had surprised them all. She was no longer the hopeless, dirty slave woman they had found in the caves beneath Rak Cthol. Her figure was full and her skin very pale. She moved with a kind of unconscious grace, and King Cho-Hag's clansmen looked after her as she passed, their lips pursed speculatively."

[tup] For the song lyrics.

The current quote for Gender Bender is not what gender bender is (not sure what it is, actually. Best I can think of is a one-way body swap.) Best quote on the quotes page was this one, though I did have to remove the potholes:
Yaz: Hold on there please madam, I need you to do as I say, this could be a potential crime sce-
The Doctor: Why are you calling me "madam"?
Yaz: Because... you're... a woman?
The Doctor: Am I?! ...does it suit me?
Yaz: What?
The Doctor: Oh yeah! I remember! Sorry, half an hour ago I was a white-haired Scotsman.

The Doctor Who one is definitely better. I'd prefer one a little shorter, but it's not too long.

There is a conversation in gen:LOCK where a gender-fluid character discusses the fact they've shifted between presenting as male and female a number of times (science is advanced enough in this show for complete and recurring transformations to be possible). The total conversation is too long, but it can be boiled down to this, and it's a bit shorter than the Doctor Who one:

Kazu: You're male?
Valentina: Sometimes. Not now. Perhaps again soon. I sense the pressure coming on again in a way I haven't in a long time.
Kazu: What were you born as?
Valentina: You'll never know.

Speaking of, may I replace the quote in Suddenly Sexuality from the one in the Quotes subpage? The current fail to indicate that the character in question is "suddenly" a lesbian.

Unexplained Recovery and Back from the Dead have the same page quote. I feel the latter should be changed to something else.

The Rosers were red. The Drownies are blue. I know What the Thunder Said. Do you?

Honestly, I don't like it for either one. For Unexplained Recovery, there's the classic:

Sir Bevedere: What makes you think she is a witch?
Peasant: Well she turned me into a newt!
Sir Bevedere: ...A newt?
[beat]
Peasant: I got better.

Something similar:

K: But how?! You were supposed to be deeeeeeead!
Nabeshin: I was, but Kumi-Kumi fixed me up with her needles!
Kumi-Kumi: I'm an acupuncturist!
K: BUT SHE WAS DEAD TOO!
Nabeshin: That's beside the point.

And a bit of a more direct lampshade:

Mad Jack: Didn't you die a while back?
Angus Dagnabbit: Aye. I got better.
Mad Jack: You were DEAD! How do you get better from being DEAD, you Scottish twit?!?!

For Back from the Dead, there are a couple Bible examples:

"Lord my God, let this boy's life return to him!"
Elijah, 1 Kings 17:21

"Lazarus, come out!"

Newt is the only one that isn't another example of Back from the Dead. The Lazarus quote is terrible, because it relies too much on familiarity with the work. I'll support Monty Python for Unexplained Recovery and Mad Jack for BFTD.

Unexplained Recovery is a subtrope of Back from the Dead, so any quote about it would necessarily be an example of both.

I'd gotten them mixed up, that means "She turned me into a newt" doesn't count as Unexplained Recovery because they didn't die.
