This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Oh, I didn't even realise that's what the image was. Not aware of that video game.
But on the subject of duplicate quotes and images, anyone had any thoughts on Emergency Transformation that I posted about on the last page?
I moved the quote from Re-Cut to Enhanced on DVD since I thought it described that trope better, and added the Knuckles quote to You Go, Girl!.

Keet cleanupThe quote on Gutterballs is so long that it pushes the text out of sight.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, that's way too long.
Keet cleanupI feel like The Juggernaut should have this quote somewhere on its page, either under an entry, on the quotes page or even the page quote, any one's good:
Spider-Man: Oh, is that why they call you the Juggernaut? I totally get it now.
Re: Gutterballs
Yeah, that's excessive. Just...axe the whole dialog, methinks.
Technically there are two quotes; the first line's not part of the dialog.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportSo, basically just leave the first line?
Yeah. It's not part of the dialog, so should be fine on its own.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportVictim-Blaming has a "page quote" that's two paragraphs long, which is probably too much.
The page quote on VideoGame.Fable was potholed to Blatant Lies. I removed the link, since it just seemed like bashing and there's not supposed to be any links in a quote anyway.
No objections here.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportReluctant Psycho has (part of) the same page quote as Ascended Demon.
Honestly, I'm not sure it fits Reluctant Psycho at all. Pull it?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. No Sense of Humor's page quote is a better fit for Late to the Punchline, which currently has a wall of text for a quote.
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less. The other problem with that wall of text is that it doesn't really fit. The quote describes when people lack context for humour, while Late to the Punchline describes not making the connection between the two different pieces of information.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. The page quote in Strangled by the Red String seems to have been changed from this:
The Nostalgia Critic: Your heart belongs to another? Who? Kitana? That chick you've known for less than an hour? How does she own your heart? True, you just met this other woman, but give her a few minutes and you'll have known her just as long.
- — The Nostalgia Critic reviewing Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
to this:
Asuna: Hi!
Kirito: You wanna get married?
Asuna: OK!
Kirito: You wanna have sex?
Asuna: OK!
I don't recall any discussion for this, nor was there any edit reason for the change.
I suppose a scene/dialogue that depicts the trope in action is better than someone directly lampshading it, but it's still not kosher to make the changes unilaterally, right?
I think I prefer the first one. The second one doesn't show exactly how the romance is screwed up. It's an inaccurate parody anyway; Kirito and Asuna fell in love over the course of two years.
I have absolutely no idea what the quote on Hey, You! is supposed to mean. My favorite replacement would be the Scrubs one.
Debbie: "Debbie"'s actually my name!
Kelso: Then out of fairness to the others you will be "Slagathor". Daves, Debbies, Slagathor, I will be in my office; if you need anything feel free to bother Dorian.
The page quote on Never Work with Children or Animals is, in its entirety, the trope name.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Looking at the quotes page, I'm debating between Agony Booth's quote or a part of Tom Baker's quote for the replacement.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportFrom Eight Deadly Words:
I removed the Metaphorgotten pothole since policy is not to put tropes in page quotes. This is the fourth time someone added this pothole, even ignoring the commented out not to add potholes. Since it seems tropers can't help but pothole, maybe we need a different quote.
Policy is still against potholing tropes in page quotes, right?
Yes, we still avoid potholes in page quotes.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.On Gray-and-Grey Morality someone replaced this:
with this:
No edit reason was given and i don't think it was discussed here. And frankly, the Angel quote seems to have very little to do with the trope itself and aside from colors involved, doesn't seem to show anything about it.
As for the Strangled by the Red String, personally, i'd prefer the SAO one over the original. The quote for Nostalgia Critic seems more like a complainig, and the trope seems like a complaint magnet already. plus SAO one really does seem like a better demonstation. It's not really an accurate parody, yes, but we're not discussingwhether or not it's an example. Heck, Black-and-White Morality quote comes from a series that is anything but, and no one seems to complain, because as a demonstration of a trope it works well.

The FVIII quote is way better for Gray-and-Grey Morality.
The Nostalgia Critic quote for Strangled by the Red String is a bit complainy, but it certainly gets the point across better than the SAO quote.
Generally the page image and quote don't come from the same source.
