This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking For An Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I agree with Primis.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!That's the exact quote on the main Title Drop page, though. Shouldn't they be using different quotes?
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. On the basis that Doctor Who is the main page quote, I am against any use of Doctor Who for the live-action subpage. The next quote on the page is from The Weakest Link, and that works for me: — "You are The Weakest Link. Goodbye." — Host
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Whoops, that's my bad. I thought we were discussing the main page quote, so when I saw enough people liked the Doctor Who one, I changed it over. This was the original:
Narrator: Hey! That's the name of the show!
Should I change it back?
Since nobody was actually discussing changing that one, I would imagine yes.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Someone changed the quote on Humans Are the Real Monsters. Not only is the new one "anonymous" (which usually means the troper just made it up), it's a bit... overly intelligent, if that makes sense. Like it's trying too hard. We've got a long quotes page to choose from, surely we can find something better.

Other options from the quotes page:
I prefer the Newt one. Other thoughts?
The quotation seems to come from Extra Credits. I don't have the time to go down the rabbit hole here, but I just watched the "radical isolation" video and that's not the origin. Maybe by "anonymous" the person meant that they didn't want to do the grunt work. I definitely don't want to do the work for them, though, so I'd rather vote for Newt Scamander's quote as it's shorter than the previous and does a good job imo.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyAny other opinions? We need more than two votes.
Newt's quote could work.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIf we're talking quotes, may I suggest this quote, which by happenstance comes from the exact same episode of the same show as my previous suggestion in this thread:
The page quote for What Do You Mean, It's for Kids? was added by frequent ban-evader Johnnyfog, any suggestion as to which quote from the quote page would work as a substitute?
ANT Pogo: Yeah. "Cute show for little girls about a sailor-suited pretty soldier of love and justice who in reality is a ditzy middle-schooler and OH GOD OH FUCK WHAT WAS THAT WHAT DID I JUST SEE OH GOD!"
Any of these would probably do. Jawbreakers on sale for 99ยข
Troper Italian Republic made a unilateral quote change on It Makes Sense in Context. The original quote:
This was changed to:
The troper in question ignored a note requesting no changes without consulting this thread.
But, more to the point, I think that the change was a clear step down. What does anyone else think?
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Yeah it's clearly much less evocative of a bizarre situation that would make no sense to people who stumble across it removed from its source material than the replaced quote.
It feels like shoving in a Star Wars meme for the sake of having a Star Wars meme somewhere.
"I have the high ground" makes sense without context. It's completely worse. Undo.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCame across VideoGame.Yakuza, which has two quotes. The second one can probably go; anyone else?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm not super fond of the first quote either, but it's definitely better than the second. Are there any other alternatives?
Found this quote on the Yakuza wiki:
That Sailor Moon related quote for What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?.
I don't think it fits, because it's not saying what's the surprising bit. Fits Noodle Incident more, or something else about lack of context...
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Looks a lot better.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNot about a stock title, but a repetitive one. Would fit "Double, Double" Title a lot better?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576That's definitely a better fit for "Double, Double" Title.
I think Tropers/Malady's suggestion is good as well.

Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
Either of those is an improvement. I prefer the first one, I think it flows better.
