This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/).
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread
in the Image Pickin' forum.

Making an exception was not the only solution, and IMO that should be avoided if possible. To make it not "all blue", I just took out the Trope Namer pothole. Not "part of the potholing", all of it. Please distinguish between potholes and other kinds of link. AFAIK normal links are fine.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well, if you'll excuse my saying so, I don't think unilaterally making those changes was a good idea, especially after a mod already made the exception you seem to be opposing.
You know, I really thought that having a mod say "It's okay to leave the quote this way" once would be enough, but everything seems muddled up again...
I'm going to holler a mod and see if we can get this settled once and for all, because this is just getting ridiculous.
Regardless.
There has been a mod ruling.
I don't understand why this is still under discussion.
There is literally a mod post to support leaving them.
Just make a note. Link to the post. Move on.
On a related but separate note, the My Name Is Inigo Montoya and You Killed My Father quotes both have gratuitous extra information in parentheses after the source that should be removed. They both contain unnecessary links and are not part of the quote anyway.
EDIT:
This. I got ninja'd.

I think I found the perfect quote for Suicide as Comedy. The current is kind of meh to me, I guess it relies on the context of the work.
Anyway, my suggestion:
->Worsely: I saw a poster saying Suicide — ring the Samaritans. So this very pleasant young fellow came round and I told him I want to kill myself and could he help. He said in a very feeling voice he would certainly try. But does he hell. The bastard's always trying to stop me.

What about the Trope Namer / Title Drop potholes, which were used to create the All Blue Entry while avoiding Linking To An Article Within The Article? Were those (and, for that matter, the All Blue Entry status) also covered by this exception that Madrugada mentioned?

Between Maddy's post
and Septimus' post
, this is thoroughly covered.

A stab at clearer formatting:
Worsely: I saw a poster saying "Suicide — Ring the Samaritans." So this very pleasant young fellow came round, and I told him I want to kill myself and could he help. He said, in a very feeling voice, he would certainly try. But does he? Hell! The bastard's always trying to stop me!
The punctuation makes the different parts of each sentence easier to parse.
Otherwise, I like it. Illustrates the trope and is rather funny.

No no no, the quote is taken from a scholarly edition of the play. No puctuation changes, please. [Serious Business disclaimer

Cool Airship has two quotes, and I'm in favour of dropping the one from . Neo Cortex

Are you saying that Madrugada's post was entirely upheld and we should put everything back the way it was, with the quote being an All Blue Entry? I just want to be sure.
Does anyone have any option to add or change on the duplicate quotes in Love Martyr and Fool for Love?

I feel the Trope Namer potholes were unnecessary and cutting them was a good call; the words are literally in the quote, it doesn't need to link to Trope Namer, since that's obvious. And the parenthetical stuff in the two I mentioned should be cut for reasons unrelated to this discussion. But otherwise they should be left as is with those posts cited.

I also changed Fate Worse than Death's page quote, because the previous one is beyond useless.
Well, it's finally happened. The edit/history/source dropdown is no longer merely invisible, it just doesn't work for me anymore. Can't see the previous quote.
EDIT: Unrelated: The page quote on Third Line, Some Waiting is poorly formatted and, apparently, not an actual quote from anything.

The previous quote is from Blackadder, "A fate worse than a Fate Worse than Death? ...That's pretty bad." Basically it's not saying anything much beyond restating the trope name.
As for the quote in Third Line, Some Waiting... I'm not sure I understand the trope, but the quote is not helping me clarify anything.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Battlestar Galactica (Reimagined), and even I'm not impressed with the "quote", which certainly isn't a quote from the show. I mean, maybe it's one of the subtitles that appears at the beginning of a scene, but even then, it's not indicative. It's just representative of one particular example that isn't even necessarily one of the strongest examples.
If it helps, the general idea of the trope is that it's a C-plot that doesn't get much focus, maybe a little bit of plot advanacement each episode, compared to the main plots that get all the focus. In a 45-minute program that consistently spends 25 minutes on Plot A, 15 minutes on Plot B, and 5 minutes on Plot C, Plot C is the Third Line, Some Waiting. It's usually geographically removed from the main plot.
For instance, in the opening of BSG, the robot Cylons invade the planet of Caprica and the entire remaining human race flees in a ragtag fleet. As the name of the series suggests, there are usually multiple arcs going on in the colonial fleet, usually on the Galactica itself, while the first season also dedicates just a few minutes each episode to check in with Helo and Athena, who are stranded on Cylon-occupied Caprica.
I'm not entirely sure there is a good quote to be had out of that idea, unless it was lampshaded somewhere.

Inter-Service Rivalry has two quotes. The first seems much more direct to the point.
Re: Inter-Service Rivalry: Agreed. The first one is really good.

It sounds like you haven't been following this discussion from the beginning
; you might want to take a look at what's already been said.
Also, even if you did come in late, I'm completely baffled by your assertion that the quote is not all blue. I mean, just look at it!
EDIT: Oh, you went and took out parts of the potholing. It was all blue before, when Madrugada made her official statement about it. I had assumed the ruling meant we would be leaving them alone entirely.
