First of all, let it be said that the bloody lettering in that trailer is inexcusably cheesy.
Mitchell was certainly the main link between the "newbie" supernatural characters and the underworld establishment, and his flashback scenes were interesting, but maybe they'll be able to compensate for those things with one or more new characters. And at least he got a proper send-off. *
Now, those other characters... that's unfortunate. But I'm still looking forward to it!
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."
Yeah. An intriguing start to the series. And I did not see George's death coming at all. (Not that that's the last we'll see of him, I'm sure.)
The hamburger-shirted vampire amused me to no end... I hope he comes back.

So, I'm really bothered that Eve seems to think that just killing baby!Eve will prevent the human/vampire war. The Old Ones aren't just going to go away.

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Same here. I could see it having an impact on the main trio that might change things a tiny bit, but that's all (unless her double-werewolf blood splashes on the Old Ones and kills them?).
I've really been enjoying the lighter moments of this season, though, especially Hal's minor freak-out in the café ("And I had a shield! A red one!"). I don't even miss the old characters.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."
I agree about Hal's freak out. I love the new characters, especially Hal's and Tom's interactions. Hell, I even miss Leon. I do miss Nina and George but I never liked Mitchel. Hal's darker (I mean his past and I can't quite forgive the things he's done) but he's more entertaining.
It's interesting that you would point out that Hal is "darker" than Mitchell, because you're right — you just wouldn't know it from their respective behaviours. Mitchell had fewer crimes to his name, and from flashbacks, it seemed like many of them were done as Herrick's henchman, but because his "conversion" was relatively recent (and constantly challenged by stressful contact with other vampires), he was almost always angsty and/or aggressive — in other words, "dark." This was understandable, if kind of hard to watch towards the end, and it was kind of a relief to see him go (with a peaceful smile, no less). In contrast, Hal has a much bloodier history and has led more vampires to do harm on his behalf, but he has had half a century of isolation and emotional support to calm down and recognize the triggers to avoid. He has more distance from his past, so while he's definitely obsessed with it, he's less volatile and self-pitying. Because of these different starting points, the fact that he's starting to fall apart is interesting in a different way than it was for Mitchell. And yes, he and Tom are awesome together.
By the way, have you seen Hal's prequel
? It cements Leo as one of the most badass characters in the whole series.

Rawrz?Well, yeah, but I think it's what on screen that counts more emotionally. If we're counting everything that happened off-screen there's no good reason that we should like either of them. Technically, we shouldn't really like Annie either, given her murder of a perfectly harmless sixty-year-old.
Edit: For a loose definition of "we".

“These eyes have looked upon pharaohs and the son of the carpenter, and now they must look at you, proudly showing its idea like a child with a handful of excrement.”
Absolutely fucking steals the show.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.I really enjoyed that. I did wonder if there was a lot cut out of this episode — Milo just disappears, for one thing, and there's very little indication of exactly what the Old Ones are doing, standing around in a big metal shed for several days. I mean, well I understand why they had to, but it's still problematic. Maybe they could have cut something out of the extensive look at the catalogues that ended the episode. I'm not sure if I'm as enthralled with the stinger as I could be at this point. Perhaps I'm jaded. I mean, if we have Alex Ghostbusting into Portnam Down I'll be pleased. Heavy duty black ops stuff could be fun too, but I'd be more interested in something in the vein of Moffat's Jekyll, instead of something like The Initiative (from Buffy) or Torchwood.
The Cutler stuff was my favourite, though. Gattis made a fantastic enemy, but I was more emotionally involved in Cutler's arc. Did anyone get the sense that his death originally capped the end of Part 7 instead of this one? I feel like it would have been a more effective capper to the previous episode than the one we got, and the lengthy fade-out we got suggested something weird in the editing room.
Edit: Just rewatched the sequence where Milo and Tom fight. Milo must have gone over the railings and into the water, since he's in one shot, and then suddenly vanished in the next. Presumably shot was cut, or never filmed due to time or budgetary constraints.

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I liked Gatiss too, and I like that the prophecy made sense in the end, with the death of the child being a necessary condition of the Old Ones' destruction rather than its direct cause, and only during that one window of opportunity. So even Eve almost screwed it up by sending killers after the baby, and urging Annie to let Cutler kill her. But then again, if the prophecy was always about Annie's choice in the warehouse, then those people were never truly capable of harming the baby... Aargh, my head hurts. Stupid destiny.
Does anyone know if a fifth season has been confirmed?
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And even if it is broke, just ignore it and maybe it'll be sort of OK — like the environment."Although it has only been renewed for 6 episodes as opposed to 8, so take that as you will. If it was the last series I would think Being Human would have had a good run, and that perhaps the idea of a Werewolf, a Vampire and a Ghost sharing a house has reached its natural conclusion. That said, I still have confidence in the new cast after this series. Not to mention that other British shows have proved that you can have successful large scale changes in cast (such as Spooks and of course, Doctor Who). I look forward to next year, and the (mis)adventures of Tom, Hal and Alex.
I'm gonna miss Annie though. I think I managed to ignore George and Mitchell's absence this series thanks to Tom and Hal's brilliance. But now that all the old guard are gone, coupled with the fact that they were no longer based in Cardiff, makes me feel like Being Human as we knew it is well and truly over...

"Who says Kamille is a girl's name? I'M A MAN!!!"Oh that was great.
Well, a little unstructured and maybe cheap looking, but great. They've really not been advertising this at all though, so I think is to be the end.
So tune in, buckle up, and enjoy the fuck out of the last five hours of the show.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.Well, they're on the Isle Of Barry (sp?) now, which is in Wales and a stone's throw from Cardiff. They even went there to film the Museum sequences last season, and the Toby Whithouse cameo this season was filmed in the same location that Doctor Who used when it was still filmed in Cardiff.
Also, the show's been cancelled. Only five episodes left. :'(
I guess that's why all the characters were being fired from their jobs in the first premier. "It's part of a larger initiative called PVU, Placing Value Upermost". That felt like something that happened to Whithouse, really.

Season Four's starting soon, and the trailer's here.
Seem's we've lost not just Mitchel, but also Lee Ingleby's Old One villain and Nina. She's probably dead, judging by that trailer. presumably due to major scheduling conflicts. Sad, but I don't mind too much.
I am really excited for the new season, though. The new actors look cool (Arthur Weasley with crazy eyes!) and I've always liked Toby Whithouse's writing. Lots of confidence there.
I do think the show's winding down — we'll probably only get one more season out of it, at maximum — and if it's a choice between this or The Fades... I dunno. Anxiety.
