The "Slice of Life" Teahouse, a long running establishment which lies in obscurity to the eyes of the public. Or that is what it would have you think. Rather it's the center of all things, the passage to all universes, to all dimensions. It only appears before those it deems worthy of it's tea.

Currently, there were quite a few customers already inside this universal oddity. Some seemed used to this weird anomaly, more than likely regulars of the Teahouse. Others, however, were more confused and disoriented, but leaving wasn't an option at least not until you ordered something from the menu and ate or drank it. Not that it was so bad, considering everything was free anyway.

For those not already in the Teahouse, they would find it appearing in many different locations. Usually somewhere near where they were located. Those individuals who have the Teahouse appear before them will have a strong compelling to enter it, no matter what.

RACHEL
Naturally, the vampire noble was a regular visitor. With little to occupy her time and a somewhat unhealthy consumption of the beverage, it was only natural that the blonde would spend as much time as possible there. Valkenhayn's ability to prepare the drink was peerless but even he was limited in his ability to acquire distinct blends. This teahouse naturally had a far superior ability in that regard.

Anyone from her own world, or at least those familiar with her, would be somewhat surprised to see the vampire seated alone with a steaming cup before her. Not because of the cup but because her familiars were conspicuous in their absence. There was no sign of a black cat hanging around, in any form, and equally little indication that the fat red bat was hiding nearby.

Siiiip. "Ahh, wonderful as always~" Iroh declared, as he tasted his cup of tea.

"Mmmm, truly delightful," he sighed out. He had been coming to this place quite a lot, and currently was sitting at his favorite table in the corner, where he could see the front door. He enjoyed seeing what kinds of people came in. The Teahouse generally chose it's customers well.

"IKA-CHAN!!!!!!!!!" the pscyho brown-haired girl continued to run down the street, her hands flailing back and forth until they were blurs. Her legs were transperent as she moved down the road, chasing the squid girl.

"LEAVE ME ALONE, DE GESO!" Ika yelled, her arms fighting against the air as she ran from the crazy Sanae.

"Stoooopp, I love you!" Sanae yelled, again, continuing her run. She wasn't going to give up and Ika didn't have the heart to slap her shit with those vector tentacles of hers.

"Geso geso gesooo...!" she ran and ran, wait, was that a tea house? SALVATION! The girl burst forward in a frantic sprint. A straight shot to the teahouse, yes, right there! A haven! She gripped the doorknob, opened it up and flung herself in. She used one of her tentacles to slam it shut.

"IKA-CH-"

CRAAAAAAAAAACK

"Agh... agh..." Sanae's face flattened from the impact against the door. "I-ika-chan..." she fell back onto the ground into unconciousness. So much for not hurting her. Ika sighed, smiling in sheer relief.

"Jun, wake up."

"Ngh..."

"Wake up."

"...Dun wanna..."

The little blonde girl shook her head silently and poked his side with her cane. "Wake up, servant, or I shall punish you."

Grudgingly, Jun opened his eyes, a heavily blurred image of red and yellow before him. Fumbling for his glasses, Jun peered at Shinku, annoyed. "What?"

"Come with me, there's an interesting place we must visit."

"...Don't want t-"

Shinku suddenly thrust the cane at his face, stopping short of knocking his head into the wall. Startled, Jun peered at the doll nervously.

"Please? It is important." Shinku requested.

...

After being dragged out of bed by Shinku and throwing his hooded jumper on over the t-shirt he wore to bed, Jun followed her to a mirror in their storage cupboard.

"So why're we going to the N-Field?" Jun asked, stifling a yawn. "Don't tell me someone's gonna start another problem..."

"No, it is much more pleasant." Shinku replied, placing her hand to the glass. It began to ripple, then glow, and the doll stepped back to see the new reflection. It looked... like a somewhat normal place, the image showing the inside of what looked like a cafe.

Jun gave it a sceptical look. "and what's this supposed to be?"

"I saw it in my dream." Shinku replied, her usually calm voice tinted with just a touch of pleasure. "A place where one can have as much tea as they desire!"

"...A tea house." Jun stated in disbelief, then shook his head. "Good night, Shinku."

Once Jun turned to leave, the red-clad doll suddenly whipped her head around sharply, one of her large ponytails flailing with enough force to knock Jun off his feet. He yelped in surprise before being grabbed by the back of his collar and dragged through the mirror.

After a moment of transition, Jun found himself looking at an unfamiliar ceiling, Shinku letting of him.

"What the hell?!" Jun snarled, scrambling to his feet and glaring at the deceptively powerful toy before him. "What was that for?!"

"For daring to defy my orders." Shinku replied simply, walking towards a table, heedless of her surroundings. Growling to himself, Jun glanced over his shoulder, seeing that they had entered via a very reflective window.

Jun sat opposite of Shinku at their chosen table. "Okay, we're here. Now what?"

"We enjoy tea, of course." Shinku replied, having to stand in order to have more than her head reach over the table.

Lee Sin strode into the Teahouse doors, somewhat wary. He could shake off the dizziness easily enough, having been struck by much more intense slowing spells, but the fact that this teahouse had appeared in the middle of his monastery...

He silently sat down at a table, tapping on it exactly once, and listening to the vibration. He nodded, making note of how the sound rebounded, and softly ordered a simple Oolong Tea.

Gintoki pushed open the doors and strolled in slowly, his walked carried the weight of a man who wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere. He was picking at his nose up until the point where he reached the counter, where he stood apart from the line looking up at the menu.

That was a new teahouse! Nanoha, of course, was interested in seeing what it was like. She hadn't seen any sign of it the day before... but... maybe she had missed it? She wasn't around this area yesterday... in any case, today was Sunday, Fate and her were totally free, and this teahouse looked nice. Clearly, there was but only one conclusion that this would lead to, and this was very clear in Nanoha's mind.

"Fate-chan, let's go see that new teahouse!"

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

The squid girl walked through out the tea-house, looking at an old man, a silver haired guy, a gothic girl sipping tea. This place sure knew how to gather up the weirdos, of course that wasn't including herself. "Alright, what to do, de geso." she eyed the menu and then took a seat nearby. Well, she might as well eat something since she came here. She had some money on her, so she could pay for a small meal!

"Mmmmm..." she picked up a menu with her hands, examining it thoroughly. Her eyes shift from side to side, taking in the information. "Shrimp, de geso!" she put the menu down and smacked the table with both hands. "Shrimp, de geso!" she demanded again, hitting her hands off the wooden table.

Wait... the squid girl picked up the menu with her tentacles. They didn't carry shrimp, why would a tea house have shrimp? "Geso..." her face fell flat against the table in defeat. "Aha!" she pulled her head up, looking over the menu one last time. "Lemon tea, de geso." again she was disappointed, but she ordered something!

"...Shinku?"

"What is it?"

"We're in the N-Field, right?" Jun asked suspiciously.

"I would assume so."

"Right..." The reclusive boy swung an arm to indicate the rest of the shop. "Then why are all these people here?!"

Shinku gave the other customers a cursory glance. "I would not know."

"Don't you find this strange at all?" Jun hissed, grabbing a menu and propping it open to hide his face from the rest of the shop. "Only you cursed dolls and that Laplace guy should be able to enter N-fields!"

"Then, obviously, someone allowed them access." Shinku said dismissively.

"Who?! And why are you so accepting about this?!" Jun growled in exasperation.

"Because tea-houses should not be a place to worry, and no one here is hostile." Shinku pointed out patiently. "Now, if you're quite finished with pointless queries, would you be so kind as to order my tea?"

Jun stared at the doll in disbelief. Shinku was aggravating to be around sometimes, but she should be worried that this N-Field was populated by all these random people! Hell, one of them had tentacles!

Agiri Goshiki

Agiri cheerfully walked into this teahouse, looking for tea. That's what it's for, after all.

"Oh my," Agiri said slowly in a carefree voice. "There are many people here. I wonder if they are interested in what I have."

Syouko Osanai

Syouko sat at a table, uncharacteristically alone. She had came to this teahouse a few times before. The first time was when Kohaku dragged her here. The second was when she was brought here by Nami in what she supposed was a date. And the time after that was when she invited Yasumi to come with her. She had to admit, Yasumi's embarrassed face was quite cute on that day. In any case, it eventually became a habit for her to come at least once every week when she had free time from the strenuous work of being Captain of the kendo club. Usually she was always with someone when she came here, be it Natsu-neesan or that annoying Migiwa. There was very few times she was at the tea house alone. Today just happened to be one of those days.

Rin Natsume

"Stupid Aniki..." she murmured as she walked down the street of her city. Stupid, annoying Kyousuke, he just had to give her a mission to find some rare tea for a stupid tea ceremony just because he felt like having one. Why couldn't he have sent Riki-kun or that idiot Masato? He knew how badly she was around crowds. There's no way she would be able to work up the courage to ask about the tea he wanted.

It was then that she spotted the teahouse. Wait, wasn't that lot vacant before? Did they build it overnight?

Well, it was a teahouse, it should be the perfect place to shop for tea! So, Rin walked in, quite proud of herself for coming one step closer to completing her mission.

That feeling didn't last long because as soon as she noticed the crowded assortment of what she assumed to be cosplayers...

She instantly went for the door, only to realize she couldn't open it. Naturally, as any scared cat would do, Rin promptly did the next best thing and ducked for the nearest hiding spot.

Waitresses

"Good afternoon, welcome to the Slice of Life," One waitress standing by the door said in greeting to the newcomers, "Please take a seat and look at the fine assortment of teas and desserts we have on our menu. No need to worry about not having money, everything here is free."

Meanwhile, a waitress near Ika quickly jotted down her order, "Lemon tea coming right up, Ma'am."

Many would notice that all the waitresses looked oddly identical to eachother. Were they possibly quintuplets? Clones? No one really knew the answer to this.

"Thank you, de geso!" she said with a smile, happy that her order was taken. Shortly after she looked off and examined the customers. Yeah, they were still the same old, strange people she had seen just a couple of seconds before. A strange old man caught her attention nearby.

He sat far off, but he had a good view of the front door. Ika scooted herself out of the seat and stood up, making her way toward the man known as Iroh. "Uh... hello, how are you doing, de geso?" she blue-eyed girl greeted him with a smile.

Kang struck the floor with his tail, frustrated. He was marching with his soldiers, searching for a place to settle in now that the continuation of their race was assured, when he felt the familiar tug of magical teleportation. By the Dark Queen, who wanted him so badly to go so far and magically snatch him from his troops?

Well, it seemed like it was a tea-house, or something similar; one of those fancy establishments rich Palathans used to frequent, and surely no place for a Bozak Draconian combat engineer... And the seats were crafted for humans, not his kind, so they were bound to uncomfortable. Still, he'd better make the most out of this weird situation, he supposed, so he took a menu from one of the waitresses, and, the claws of one hand clicking against his scaled cheek, proceeded to browse it.

Poor Kang. He did not know any of the beverages and deserts offered. Shaking his head, he called to one of the waitresses, "Hey, you! Do you have any spirits here?"

"Shinku..." Jun whispered. "There's a bunch of monsters starting to show up!"

"There are also various girls and a few men., The doll pointed out calmly, before raising her arm. "Waitress! Two cups of green tea, if you would be so kind."

Jun groaned and let his head fall onto the table. Shinku was being far more of a nuisance than usual. Did she really think drinking tea from a mysterious tea house that shouldn't exist was more important than why there was a mysterious tea house that shouldn't exist?!

"Relax." Shinku advised, staring at the young boy with her wide, blue eyes. "There is no hostility here. Take the time to enjoy yourself. Learning to talk to others may be a good idea as well, if you're planning to go back to school."

Jun didn't move, although what Shinku said made sense. Well, the mingling part, anyway. He may be getting better at leaving his room, but attending school again was still a challenge...but these people all looked weird, or probably secretly were. Flattening the menu onto the table, Jun peered at the various customers.

"A family business, I wonder?" Shinku said to herself, glancing at each of the maids.

"I've never been in a teahouse," Fate said quietly, moving in close to Nanoha's side as she headed through the door. There... there were a lot of people there! There was a girl in fancy clothing that had the same hairstyle as her, another girl in fancy clothing with a similar hairstyle, and... a reptile? That was strange, weren't humans the only inhabitants of Earth? And weren't all intelligent species at least superficially human?

Nanoha blinked.

"Ehhhh?"

That was a big... lizard... thing. Most of the people here were human, but big lizard things weren't. Why was there a big lizard thing? Those didn't live on earth... And that girl's hair was really weird! It was all blue, and not hair-like...

But the teahouse looked nice. "There's some strange people here... But let's find a seat, Fate-chan."

Sometimes it felt good to get out of the old uniform.

Not that Kohaku needed much of an excuse for that, seeing her hobbies. But still, it was nice to just leave that stuffy old kimono at the mansion every once in a while and wear something a bit more casual. This was her day off, after all. She couldn't just wear her work clothes on her day off, could she?

"N-nee-san... This is... Embarrassing..."

And neither could Hisui-chan, of course~ As it turned out, her sister didn't have any clothes other than several copies of her maid uniform, her swimsuit and that yukata she wore during the festival, but that was okay. Their sizes were almost exactly the same, so she just let her borrow some of her clothes. They really did look like twins now, wearing almost exactly the same outfit aside from colouration and, of course, Kohaku's ribbon. And their eyes, of course.

"Come on, come on! Hisui-chan, we're going to have fun today, ufu~!" the older twin giggled as she dragged her sister across town, looking for somewhere to spend the day. "Ah, look! A cute little teahouse, Hisui-chan~! Let's go, let's go~!"

Hisui wasn't exactly reluctant to go to the teahouse; after all, such places tended to be quiet, out of the way establishments where she wouldn't have to be around many people. It was a lot better than some of the alternatives her sister might have dragged her off to, so she may as well settle for it if she had to go out. To be honest, she'd much rather be back at the mansion, doing some housework... Maybe Shiki-sama might come and help her, as much as she'd insist he shouldn't. It was her job, after all. He was the master of the house, and she was a servant. He shouldn't be helping her do the housewo-

"Table for two please~!" The amber-eyed twin's voice rang out as she entered the teahouse. As she waited to be seated, she quickly eyed the current clientelle.

Huh, plenty of cosplayers... I think I like this place already, ufu~

My sword is an extension of me. If I want it to cut diamonds, it shall cut. Dimensions, the heavens, illusions. All shall be scattered by my blade. One with the sword... This train of thought was passing through a young girl's head as she walked upon what appeared to be an enormous isle of interlocked dragonic fossils floating in the sky. Before her, Lizardmen patrolled the area, attempting to keep alchemists off of their territory. Unfortunately, she needed to obtain some ingredients for her alchemy, so invade she must.

Slashing a hole through the dimensional rift with a sword longer than she was tall, a blue haired girl in an ornate red school uniform leapt through, intending to strike from behind. Unfortunately, chance had made it one of the few occasions where she reached a high enough level to severe through multiple dimensions before ending up inside the mysterious establishment. Blinking in surprise, the girl turned this way and that, looking like a spooked small animal. Kinda like a squirrel caught in a car's headlight. She must rather looked somewhat out of place as she held a longsword in her small hands and shivered in embarrassment.

Then a blue haired... it was hair right? Girl that had been here for a little bit walked up to him.

Waitresses and The Prideful Kitten Who Doesn't Take Easily To Others

"Coming right up, Ma'am," The waitress nearest Shinku replied to her order. This waitress, unlike the others, had a blue uniform. In fact, all the waitresses seemed to be color coded.

A waitress in green, walked up to the reptile man with a smile, "Sorry sir, this establishment does not serve any alcoholic beverages. We do, however, have a fine assortment of teas. May I recommend today's special?"

Finally, a third waitress in a pink uniform who was the one standing near the door greeting newcomers, spoke up to Kohaku and Hisui, "Welcome to the Slice of Life, please follow me and I'll take you to your seats.

The pink waitress walked over to what appeared to be a vacant table. However, the table seemed to have had a small, petite brown haired girl hiding under it. And as soon as she saw others approaching...

"Fukaaaaaaaaaa," Rin hissed at them, something that made the small human girl look even more cat-like than usual.

"Oh my, oh my," The waitress was a little taken a back by the girl's behavior. She watched as the brunette slunk further back until she was out from under the table and now currently hiding behind one of the decorative ferns. Rin watched them with wariness clear in her eyes. She seemed almost like a kitten in a new home, scared and shy, "Poor thing must be frightened."

Syouko Osanai

Syouko watched as many more new people came in. It seemed like tha place had quite the crowd today. She wondered what the occasion was, if there was even one. Now she was kinda regretting not bringing along Nami or Yasumi or possibly Natsu-neesan. With all these new faces here, it would have been nice to have at least one familiar person with her.

Kang put his elbow on the table and his long, scaled chin on his fist. "Tea?" he rasped. "What do you think that I am, a pampered Palanthan noble? Do you even know who I am?" he asked.
He thumped his tail on the floor again and opened his wings wide. Truth to be told, the effect was mildly comic, for he still leaned on the table. "Oh, well, since I'm not wasting any iron here, I'll take one of those... specials," he said at last. "And get me the closest thing to raw meat you have," he added.

"Um... What is this place?" Anna asked, squirming a bit and refusing to put away the sword. "There's no place like this on Al-Revis..." "Thank you," Shinku replied gracefully. "And also, if it isn't too much trouble, do you have a cushion or two I could borrow?"
Given Shinku's size, she was pretty much forced to stand on the chair to extend a hand towards the table's centre. A slight disadvantage with her size, but it was no problem.

Jun smirked despite his anxiety. It was always amusing to see someone like the bossy and proud 5th Rozen Maiden Doll to require help for things suited for people of normal height. Hence why doors had to be kept open in his house, for the benefit of all the dolls that live in his house.

A sharp whack to the face, courtesy of Shinku's ponytail, brought Jun back to reality.

"That smile will scare the other customers," Shinku warned, no doubt realising what had amused the boy.

"And your attitude won't?" Jun retorted, folding his arms.

"I am a refined and elegant lady. What is there to fear about me?" Shinku asked innocently, with not a hint of sarcasm.

The fact you're a talking doll masquerading as a little girl? Jun thought, but didn't vocalise.

"Putting this aside for now," Shinku continued, waving an arm in the general direction of a lost girl with a sword. "Perhaps you should put her mind at ease?"

Jun gave her a blank look.

"Tell her where she is, and that there is no danger here?" Shinku ventured.

"And why should I?" Jun grumbled, giving her a nervous look. The ensuing argument mostly consisted of Shinku calmly pointing out Jun's personality and social problems that needed to be overcome, while Jun tried to shut her voice out and reply with 'but she's probably dangerous' and 'she won't trust me anyway'. Possibly noticeable.
