At one point, the band considered hiring the then-unknown Elton John to be the album's singer, but decided against it
What could have been...
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.I’d say Larks’ Tongues in Aspic is my fave album of theirs. For songs, I’m going to be predictable and say “Starless.”
They also auditioned Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) and Jon Anderson (Yes) in 1970. Anderson actually sang on one track of their Lizard album, offering you a true taste of What Could Have Been.

Super-necro because they're one of my all-time favorite bands, and they've recently announced plans to tour late this year!
For those who don't already know, it looks like the lineup will be:
- Robert Fripp: guitar
- Jakko Jakszyk: vocals
- Mel Collins: saxophone
- Tony Levin: bass
- Pat Mastelotto: percussion
- Gavin Harrison: percussion
- Bill Rieflin: percussion
Hope I'm not Tempting Fate by posting this...
Also, my favorite Crimson song is probably Starless, although Easy Money comes close. Favorite album is Larks' Tongues in Aspic, hands down.
How dare you disrupt the sanctity of my soliloquy?Toss up between In the Court of the Crimson King and Lark's Tongues In Aspic for me. Favorite song(s)- Epitaph, 21st Century Schizoid Man or I Talk to the Wind. Toss up between those. Or maybe Pictures of a City, Cirkus or Lizard (because I actually like Yes, mostly, though the whole song is interestingly structured). Actually, they have many.
Epitaph is probly my all time favorite song by them, actually...

Oh cool a KC thread :)
My favorite album of theirs, hands down, has to be Discipline. Followed by Starless and Bible Black.
Apart from Starless & Bible Black and a couple of others though (Larks' Tongues anyone?), I'm strongly partial to their eighties run, but I know not a lot of people are. It's just the three albums I listen to the most to be honest (Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair), and it's also my favorite lineup (I mean come on, Fripp, Belew, Bruford AND Levin ? friggin dream time right there, although to be fair lot of KC lineups could qualify).

You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here.

Seems to be a popular band around here. Which is your favourite album and song?
Red and Starless for me.
