"Stealing Magic When Malunall And Arane Both Said They Were Going To Give It To Humans"?<__________________________<

While I find the advancements I'm seeing interesting, I feel I should note that unless I'm counting wrong, my last turn was the end of the fifth round of the second age.

Admittedly, any three players could decide that we're not moving on (until round ten ends), but I thought I'd point it out as nothing was mentioned about it.

I'm cool with the second age continuing.

A NEUTRAL GOOD CTHULHU KNOCKOFF.

Also um tiny little detail—I think icesteel is just magical ice, from what Snowy's told me, which makes it...more(?) plausible to have an entire city-spanning wall built out of it than it does to have one built out of Godsteel. Fluff-wise, maybe it'd be better if the wall's made out of stone, and Avian engineering skill allows them to efficiently integrate limited amounts of Godsteel into the supports?

Besides, Arane raises the Icesteel right out of the ground. I think what Chubert just proposed is more plausible.

Honestly, I had been planning on the Plant Control before the flying plants! evil grin The idea's roughly the same type as the Loess' Sand Control, just with plants.

As for the voting - I'll vote to stay in second age another round.

I kind of want one more turn in age 2, after this one; this is for purely selfish reasons.

Also, I DID edit the previous turn so that rather being a solid godsteel wall, it's instead a wall that's reinforced with godsteel and has a godsteel plating on the outside. Should effectively have the same result against most attacks while still being more reasonable in how much metal would be required to obtain it.

Uh, confirmation: the military academy means that the Helms Deep army is better than anybody who doesn't have another military academy (everybody) AND doesn't have advancements—namely, the Handalen, Halfra, Halflians, and Zombies.

Also, we need to clean up the index again. The Halfians and Halfra aren't cityless; they've got Calicfex, and there's a six floating around on the map.

The halfbreeds are currently cityless, actually. Malunall ran out of juice making them and commanding Jeff, so right now they mostly hang in Prowessia and Verloren.

Shit, reading comp. But, um, anyways, you can plop down a race anywhere you like, so they don't have to be cityless if you don't want them to be cityless.

Codex made a good enough point, I having fucked up reading comprehension when not seeing the zombies rise as -1 align, so we'll keep the halfbreeds homeless until the zombies become good/neutral.

I'm updating the map before I do my turn. Should I give the half-breeds a 6 and throw it down next to Verloren and Prowessia?

Question: would 2 points be an acceptable price to modify the Wrwym to being Handalen/Ent half breeds? Or would it require the full 4?

Um, I don't understand the question. They're...not Ent/Handalen hybrids, so I'm not sure how you modify them, save some cosmic causal retcon...

Also, if anybody wants to start Age 3 at any time, just bring it up in here; if there's a majority, then we switch next round, unless it's brought up before my post, in which case I'll wait to see if there is not a majority.

I know... it just seems that if Cwper was to make a Handalen/Ent cross what she'd get is a Wrwym. Doesn't matter, making cross-breeds for everything shouldn't be a goal in-and-of-itself anyway. So Ent crosses are unlikely.

That said, now I can't help imagining a Dragon/Ent cross.

Edit: I'm up for moving forward, but I'm also happy to stay in Age 2.

Note dragons mate with anything and everything.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I don't see why races couldn't share a city. I mean, just about everything has a seperate entry for modifying a race or modifying a city. My thinking is that the city's alignment would be an average of the races present (with ties going in the direction the person creating the city or moving the race in decides) plus the number of Purify/Corrupt City actions taken on that city.

It could result in a +5 city with a -3 race present, but then it's possible to do that (if we really wanted to) with a single race being present - and if there are a group of +4, +2 and -3 races it makes sense that it could be adjusted easier (needing only +4 to reach a +5 city rather than +8).

I, um, do not see why it matters. The system you propose seems fairly convoluted and unnecessary. So far, we haven't even used purify city, I don't think...

Anyways, I'm pretty sure this is how it works: if you want the specific people in the city to be nice, you purify it. If there's a -1 race in a +1 city, deal with it fluff-wise however you like. Maybe they hide in the shadows. Maybe they're affected by the city and grow to a +1 alignment. Maybe they largely flee from the city, but a few remain behind. Guys, alignment is in here to enrich the fluff; there is no need to delve into it really far mechanics-wise. The only seriously important mechanics issue is conflict.

I realize I probably just misread, but I was thinking that Taco was thinking that the Zombies and the half-breeds couldn't share a city because of the Zombies being evil (a second read made me think that maybe it was just that he wanted them not to).

So I was just using the alignment mechanic differences as an example of a mechanic supporting them being able to. I suppose a simpler version is for the city's alignment to be the same as the race in charge, having thought about it. Increases opportunity for conflict too.

(and I have rolled - a 9, and should have a post up within 4 hours of this post if nothing major comes up. If I don't, go ahead and continue - I'll just say that I'll take my points and take no action)
