Okay. Favorite All Time Albums. This may take awhile
10. Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
9. Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
8. Sung Tongs by Animal Collective
7. Hunky Dory by David Bowie
6. The Beatles by The Beatles
5. Apple O' by Deerhoof
4 Super æ by Boredomes
3. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel
2. Embryonic by The Flaming Lips
1. Soft Bulletin by The Flaming Lips (again)
Suddenly I realize how small of a number 10 is. If I was to make the list again next week, I'd probably think of different albums.
I am a writer, but would prefer to stay anonymous simply out of embarrassment for not having any work published. For I Talk To The Wind, I dunno, it just bores me. I'm surprised so many of you like it.
@Enemy: I'm assuming you like Jethro Tull in that case?
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.Top ten albums at the moment, in no particular order:
Little Earthquakes (Tori Amos)
Funeral (Arcade Fire)
Ys (Joanna Newsom)
Astral Weeks (Van Morrison)
Late Registration (Kanye West)
This Is Happening (LCD Soundsystem)
The Reminder (Feist)
What's Going On (Marvin Gaye)
Beautiful Sleepyhead and the Laughing Yaks (Emily Wells)
Quadrophenia (The Who)
Yep. They've even got some songs that I like enough to have debated putting them in my top 10. But as has already been said, 10 is a really low number. Definitely there'd be at least one Tull song in my list if I posted another 10 favorite songs, or a top-20 list.
Jesus saves. Gretzky steals, he scores!I guess I'll do my top ten albums, too. This is in alphabetical order.

no one will notice that I changed this1994 was sort of the year I started getting really into music. But while writing this I realized what I'd pick from that year now isn't entirely the same stuff that actually caught my attention at the time. So...
Top Ten Albums Of 1994:
- 10. Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand
- 9. Built To Spill - There Is Nothing Wrong With Love
- 8. Soundgarden - Superunknown
- 7. Portishead - Dummy
- 6. Shudder To Think - Pony Express Record
- 5. Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
- Token hip-hop entry because I think this is the only hip-hop I have from that year at all, honestly.
- 4. Ween - Chocolate And Cheese
- 3. Alice In Chains - Jar Of Flies
- Yeah, it was marketed as an EP, but it's over 30 minutes so I'm counting it.
- 2. Blur - Parklife
- 1. Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
What I Probably Would Have Said My Top Ten Albums Of 1994 Were In 1994:
- 10. Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
- 9. Toadies - Rubberneck
- 8. Beck - Mellow Gold
- 7. Korn - Korn
- 6. They Might Be Giants - John Henry
- 5. Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
- 4. Soundgarden - Superunknown
- 3. The Offspring - Smash
- 2. Weezer - The Blue Album
- 1. Green Day - Dookie
I'd still definitely say I like almost everything in that second list - not sure about the Korn and Toadies, which I have not heard in full in probably over a decade.

1994 was an important year for me, although not really musically.
My favorite albums of that year would be:
- Soundgarden - Superunknown
- Kyuss - Sky Valley
- Melvins - Stoner Witch
- Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Top Ten Thrash Metal albums (had to do it eventually)
- Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?

- Overkill - The Years of Decay
- Exodus - Bonded By Blood
- Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
- Heathen - Victims of Deception
- Flotsam & Jetsam - Doomsday for the Deceiver
Ho hum.
no one will notice that I changed thisI started writing a top 10 of songs I think are good but also somewhat creepy. However, after 4 it took me a while to come up with more:
- The Beatles - A day in the life (especially the last ~minute, as I can still hear the very annoying 4 second beep)
- The Beatles - Revolution 9 (although not sure if I actually like it)
- Deep purple - Child in time (awesome and quite weird)
- The Doors - The End
- The Doors - Riders on the storm (I once heard someone say it is a song that makes you want to be in a car on the road during rain... Something told me he didn't really listen to the text)
- Genesis - Mama (although it is one of my favourite Genesis songs)
- Genesis - Domino (again one of my favourites)
- Robert Johnson, for some reason, the whole discography
- Rolling stones - Brown sugar (think it is a great song. Very catchy. I sang along with it until I listened to what I was singing. Now I'm slightly uncomfortable when listening to it.)
- Pink Floyd - Waiting for the worms (because of the Nazi screaming through the song)
Best Albums (Only the first three in that order):
- Pink Floyd - The wall
- Jeff Wayne - Jeff Wayne's musical version of the War of the worlds
- The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band
- B.B. King - Live at the Regal
- James Taylor - Hourglass
- The Doors - The Doors
- Frank Sinatra - In the wee small hours
- Queen - A night at the opera
- Coldplay - Viva la vida
- Adele - 21

Post 23 by Pikafan — You rock for your 1990s country picks. "Dancy's Dream" is awesome.
Top 10 current male country acts, in no order:
- Keith Urban (love the passion and energy in his voice, and he's an ace guitarist/banjoist/whateverist)
- Kenny Chesney (mainstream as he is, Kenny's often quite risky from an artistic standpoint — just listen to "You and Tequila")
- Jason Aldean (hardest rocking guy in the genre right now)
- Eric Church (second hardest rocking guy in the genre right now)
- Jake Owen ("Alone with You" is amazing)
- Luke Bryan (very charismatic vocalist, great melodies — "I Don't Want This Night to End" is in Lydian mode, something I've never heard before)
- David Nail (also a great voice, though his producer sucks)
- Ronnie Dunn ("Cost of Livin" was the best song of 2011 in any genre, IMO)
- Lee Brice (yet another great voice, interesting lyrics)
- James Wesley (highly underrated — "Real" and "Didn't I" were excellent)
I've also got my eye on Kip Moore as a future star with a lot of potential. "Somethin' 'bout a Truck" is probably the first time I've ever heard Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs in a song.
Top 10 Garth Brooks songs, in order:
- That Ol' Wind
- Shameless
- What She's Doing Now
- Two Piña Coladas
- Thicker Than Blood (never understood why this flopped)
- That Summer
- Papa Loved Mama
- More Than a Memory
- Unanswered Prayers
- Friends in Low Places

"I Talk to the Wind" is indeed lovely.
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.
