Okay. So this is basically a conversation for EVERYONE who would like to join in on the convo.
Basically, anyone.
Anyways...welcome!!!
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!I'm waiting for tonight. It's the Academy Awards and there's a steak & lobster dinner with hey, my name on it.
Time for me to turn in for the night. Have a good night, TV Tropes. :)

Good luck to both you and your friend. I know you can both get through this together.
I had a pretty great moment of validation today. I put in a ton of extra work at school. I volunteer to help people at my school at any given opportunity. I tutor free of charge (My school has a lot of low income students, including me, so we can't always afford tutors). I've contributed to academic papers written by faculty and beta tested all sorts of junk for math and comp sci professors and students. Whenever I don't quite agree with something that's being taught, instead of just ignoring it I bring up my points to the professor, which has led to me being asked to write entire research papers for different departments and being deeply involved in curriculum planning. So today I was looking to apply for this really elite scholarship that's really hard to get, where you need a faculty member to endorse you. So I emailed one of my professors to see if she would endorse me, and she told me that she had already endorsed me weeks ago. She had written my recommendation letter, handled all the paperwork, and even personally went down to the scholarship office to discuss my merits before I had even asked.
I feel absolutely on top of the world
TL;DR: Cail's an overworked Type-A maniac, and it's finally paying off in her favor
