The dingoes are multiplying...
I wonder if he's a migrant too.
So, I willingly to pay for DLC as long as it worth, if not, then I just dont buy it, simple as that, Industry is not gonna change it, not for now
Reminder: The topic is XCOM: Enemy Unknown, not your fellow posters.
...so how about that XCOM?
I imagine this is going to pull a lot of enthusiasm from the shooter at this point.
. . .in what way was Bioshock even aimed at the "dubebro" target market?
Anyway, I don't actually have a prediction for this, as while Firaxis is a good solid company, this entire move just seems so bizarre. It doesn't smell right.
Look at the full cover.◊ I absolutely cannot wait for the day where they'll annouce it's a cover-based TPS and the "strategy game" part means you can give orders to a teammate or something.
Hey, that cover captures the heart of the XCOM games pretty well actually. Dead civilian, property damage, creepy lighting, sectoid in the sights of a high-tech trooper biding his time to squeeze off a shot. That's... Exactly what happens in those games. I think Firaxis are as excited by this as we are.

...and I thought deuxhero-level drama can't be reached again...
Moving on, the cover looks pretty cool...
@Glowsquid: You're saying like cover is a bad thing...sure in FPS it's overdone TBS the concept is pretty important...at least it's not total protection...(can do something like in D&D with reduced hit percentage)
Why is everybody so pessimistic about this game's development all of a sudden? Drawing conclusions from a single piece of concept art from a magazine cover? Waiting for things to go slightly wrong just so you can hate on it? Does it have something to do with XCOM's development history that I'm unaware of?* never played an XCOM game ever, likes strategy games though
When you rebooted a beloved franchise, there will always be someone who cries Ruined Forever...it's unavoidable...just look at the rucks when Deus Ex Human Revolution was announced...
But Human Revolution is not a reboot?
I was only around for the last half of that farce.
It revived the series from a several year long hiatus?
Kid Icarus doesn't get even close to this level of scrutiny or forum drama. Then again it's probably because everybody's a squishy Nintendo fan.
Okay, just all revival...sorry I used a wrong term...but still, that's just how it happens...the "hardcore fans" will cry Ruined Forever on everything at even just small changes happened...it's just like that...
^Another thing is that there's really none of the original dev team, which several thinks is a very bad idea...and Nintendo is Nintendo...the fans are like that...(I think)

Nostalgia Filter is in full effect. There's been no shortage of XCOM games, sequels, spiritual successors, fan projects, reboots, etcetera. I imagine every time fans wait with baited breath to see if this time it'll re-capture what it was about XCOM that made it so great (What was that again? I forget...)
Not many of them do, because there's no competing with the memory of XCOM.
I'm wondering if the world needs YAXR. (Yet Another Xcom Reboot) Maybe these guys need to stop and see if they can give us a satisfying Squad Based Tactical Combat Simulator, nestled in a Strategic Resource Management Game, in the first place. Before tying it to the IP.
Theres also that Kid Icarus only had one sequel on gameboy Its kind of matter of being Cult game, ANY sequel is good.(and there WERE people complaining, its just that Kid Icarus is EVEN more Obscure game =P)
