Oh, right, there were two endings. Just checked. I had only heard about the one where he died. Well, I hope it wasn't canon then.

I think the one where he doesn't die is canon, considering...(ending spoilers)In the one where he does die, he dies protecting his president-guy. In the one where he doesn't die, he recruits Chipp and they manage to protect the president-guy from the same attack without either dying.

It's possible, seeing how much AC+'s story sets up Overture (for example, Ky and Dizzy's endings having them grow closer together, one of Sol's having Ky make him promise to see him again before they go their separate ways, etc.), but I don't think they'd outright off Potemkin like that.

@ MB: Well, I guess it depends on how old May and Bridget actually are. The next game would have to be set at least five years after GG1, and both appear to be adolescents, so I'd assume that they would have gone through puberty by then. But yeah, it'd be hilarious if Bridget still looked like a female after all of this time.

@ Meophist: I'm curious. Why would there be a replacement for Order-Sol in the first place? Story-wise, he's Sol in the past and you only bump into him because I-No sends you back in time to create a time paradox in order to try to kill the current Sol. Gameplay-wise, he's more or less Sol from the first game, but with incomplete versions of some of his moves, a charge ability that buffs the properties of other specials and overdrives, and what would appear to be some elements from Sol's EX incarnation.

I think Order-Sol is pretty unique, gameplay wise. From what I remember, EX Sol is similar to how Sol played in the original game, but Order-Sol's rather different. I'm just saying that it's possible that Sol in the next game may take some attributes from Order-Sol since Order-Sol seems rather popular and it'll be difficult to justify him story-wise in the next game. Alternatively, they may make EX Sol more similar to Order-Sol.

Making EX Sol closer to Order-Sol would probably work the best, seeing as Sol's Gear suppressant headband is starting to malfunction since he's growing more powerful, not to mention that he actually used his Gear form to fight That Man in Overture. That being said, I don't see any reason why regular Sol can't adapt a few tricks from... himself.

Right, that's something I was thinking. Also, Order-Sol seemed to be him from when he was less... restrained. If he's going to be losing control, I can see some of his Order-Sol moves returning.

On another note, I think it's possible Testament won't return if they are willing to cut characters. He kinda served his purpose in the story and isn't really needed anymore(unless something happened in Overture).

Well, Testament's ending in AC+ involved him either a) dying along with his burning forest or b) returning to the same forest and deciding to protect it until the time comes that he'd need to leave it again. Given that Dizzy is his Only Friend (although he is gradually becoming more accepting of humans to a point), I'm sure there's some way you could put him back into the plot. Him hearing news of the Gears disappearing and Dizzy being frozen in time is bound to be enough to get Testament up and running.

It sounds like it'll just be a rehash of XX's plot, really. I mean, he's basically gone from hating humans to not thinking humans are totally evil to hating humans again to not thinking humans are totally evil again. The problem isn't putting him into the plot, but finding something interesting for him to do.

That is indeed a problem, but hey, certain people simply don't have dynamic character arcs. All I'm saying is that, unless the character is dead or incapacitated in some way that would render them unavailable in the next game, they shouldn't be cut, especially not a character with such a unique playstyle. That's bound to not go well with certain fans.

This wouldn't really be as much of a problem if Guilty Gear wasn't so story-focused(at least compared to other fighting games). If they want to keep his playing style though, they can always attach it to a new character, I guess. Some fans would be against that, of course, but at least the playstyle will remain.

Either way, I just find Testament rather boring as a character. He played his role rather well in the first couple of games, but then he didn't really have anywhere else to go. Pretty much everybody else seems to have some purpose except for him.

Even if the story cuts out characters, they could still be available in non-story modes. Or even have 'what-if' story lines. Kliff and Justice were in one of the X/XX games that I have, and Justice at least had a short story mode thing.

After all, Kliff and Order-Sol's stories in AC+ take place before the first GG.

I think Justice also had a story in that time period. That said, I don't think it's quite something they can do too often.

On that note, I did like Crow from Accent Core. "JUUUUUUUUUSTIIIIIIICE!!!!!"
Thought that was amusing.

Yeah, it was something that got me suspicious about Overture. You'd have thought that Testament'd react to Dizzy's ordeal. I don't think ASW would phase out Overture or try to retcon it, considering Ishiwatari himself likes it, but who knows.

So... what's everybody's opinion of A.B.A.? I have trouble activating her Deadly Upgrade form, but I kind of like her design.

I like her, even if I wasn't that good at playing her in Isuka. Wish I had AC to try her out though. I hate the manual turn around option in Isuka. But all things considered, I think she has an interesting design and background.

Been forever since I could play AC, but I remember not really understanding how her weapon worked. And sucked with her anyway.

... I don't think there's anybody in that game I feel comfortable with, in fact...

A.B.A is probably the only female fighting game character that I actually bother to play.

As far as female characters in this series, I prefer to use Jam, Dizzy, and Millia Rage (A.K.A. Proto Litchi).

I've been trying using her without her Deadly Upgrade form and she's surprisingly usable. Her forward-Heavy Slash is strong and has nice area of effect, I've been able to hit with the back of it a few times.

I liked it. After my brother and I got used to pressing a button to turn around, we managed to figure out some tricks to abuse it. My brother liked attacking from the other side as Dizzy, while I liked summoning whales from the other side as May. Also, putting up our custom Robo-Ky Mk. II against each other was fun. We each had rather unique builds.
