Being the shoto-scrub I am, Sol from the original game was right up my alley.
I also liked May a lot.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.True, I-no's probably the hardest. She's also the reason I raged hard at a game for the first time in my life. Damn her for being such a powerful boss! *pout*
I'm somewhat proud of myself for taking a look at Bridget in the character selection screen for the first time, and thinking "That's probably a boy." Then I read the info and he really was.

Please don't feed the trolls! The first character I used was Zappa. It took a bit of a while getting used to playing as him though.

During my woefully brief time with XX, I primarily used Ky. I switched to Sol ("GURLFRIEND!") and Chipp ("Sushi!") for a bit, but I clicked the best with Ky.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadSorry for the double post, but some food for thought: Since the Story Mode of AC+ sets up the plot of Overture somewhat, anyone think that it'd make more sense for the next proper Guilty Gear to take place after Overture? I don't mind where in the timeline the next game takes place since I'll just be happy to get a new GG, but I'm not sure how many psuedo-sequels ASW can crank out before the fans get sick of it.
Also, since Blaz Blue is a bit more story-driven than GG, anyone think that the next title will be presented more like how BB is doing it (this includes miscellaneous stuff like Gag Reels and the like; heck, Sol already has a Chibi form due to Daisuke Ishiwatari appearing on BlazBlue Radio)?

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadYes to both. I was expecting the next GG to take place post-Overture anyway. Doing that would also at least shed some light on what the other characters. We'd also get to see how the Overture cast would play in a proper GG (though, I find it somewhat obvious that Raven would play like Nu, if his boss battle in Overture is any indication).
Speaking of Overture, when Ky used the Thunderseal to save Dizzy, did he use up all of it's power permanently, or did he it (and its powers) back?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterI recall Ky sacrificing the Thunderseal completely to freeze Dizzy in time. Don't quote me on that, though. (goes back to watching a playthrough of Overture)
Another idea: Reuben Langdon as the announcer in a future GG.
And here's some GAHN FURAYME! courtesy of the man himself (around the 1:48 mark).

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadSlayer from GGX 2#reload. I love gentlemanly, badass vampires.
Personally, my guess is that GG 3 will be a retelling of Overture in order to include the characters from earlier on. I don't see certain characters making a comeback though, granted I'm seeing them using HD sprites like with Blaz Blue....
Doesn't hurt that "Haven't You Got Eyes In Your Head?" is one of the best themes ever. People say 'Gluttony Fang' is pure sex is audio form, but they obviously haven't listened to this.
It can't exactly be GG3 if it's a retelling of 2, unless they dropped a Ret-Canon bomb. I figure the story will jump ahead to a point where Dizzy is saved so that she can return as a playable character.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The Mad"Haven't Got Eyes In Your Head" and "Get Down To Business" are the best tracks in Guilty Gear (aside from Still In The Dark of course), and that's saying something.
It's very likely that That Man will be playable in GG 3, maybe as a final boss?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterI think that might be jumping the gun a bit. There are still a lot of unanswered questions (outside of the Tangled Family Tree the protagonists possibly have going on), such as the location and powers of the remaining Jinki and what exactly happened to the others during those five years between XX and Overture. Not to mention that That Man really wasn't trying during his fight with Sol (then again, neither was Sol, despite using his Gear Form) and That Man tells Raven at the end of Overture that millions of Valentine clones are being produced each day.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI know I'm a bit late on this, but Chipp was my first character. Somehow, the thought of an albino drug dealer-turned-ninja fascinated me. Still does.
And since this thread could use a pick me up, how were you introduced to Guilty Gear?
Since I don't want to type up an origin story, I'll just say that A certain scene in MK:AFS2 and a couple select BGM's in Ethrenta Beta piqued my interest in the game. I also remember watching some random tournament videos (even though I still had no idea what the game was) and being blown away by the sprite work.

Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.Stumbled across it at a Blockbuster. Instant rental. That week went by so fast, though... Sadly, I've had no luck finding a copy of AC+.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI have an Xbox, so I can't play AC+. Or Isuka.
Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.X and XX are as canon as anything else, it's just that the games take place weeks after the events of each other (overall, little over a month passes between the original game and AC+). Overture could perhaps been seen as the first true sequel, seeing as it jumps ahead five years.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI thought Overture was supposed to fix one of the problems that Guilty Gear X introduced into the Guilty Gear storyline, in that all of the tournament participants of the original tournament, except the winner, was supposed to have died. Justice was only supposed to appear because everybody except the winner died. X completely contradicts that canon.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here. They most likely retconned that fact early on. Removing X and XX from canon and making Overture a direct sequel to the original game only would muck up... pretty much everything. They could be considered side-stories to an extent, but I see nothing to suggest that those titles are non-canon.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadWell, that was the impression I got. I never played Overture(need a 360), but I also heard the Sol was the only person of the original Guilty Gear cast(aside from the non-playables) who was in Overture. If he's the only survivor of the tournament, that'll make sense.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.I found a bit, although it's not really about how he feels about the game:
DI: Well, we were involved directly with the series up through Guilty Gear XX #Reload, which were the 2D fighting games we'd been wanting to make. At that point we felt like we'd done what we'd set out to, and were wondering what step the series should take next.
Until that time, I'd been playing games at the arcade and on my PS 2, but when I started playing games on the PC, I discovered how fascinating FPS and RTS games could be.
For me it was like "Wow. There are these entirely other venues for making competitive games that are really interesting." So when it came time to move forward, we thought we should try to take a totally new approach and move in a new direction.
DI: Right, that was Guilty Gear 2: Overture.
Do you want to make other 3D games?
DI: Well, there are all kinds of things that I'd like to make. Guilty Gear 2 got its start because I wanted to make something new and something that may appeal to the world market.
The very first Guilty Gear came about because I really liked Street Fighter and wanted to make a game like that. With Guilty Gear 2, I wanted to make a game that would then inspire other people in that same kind of way.
So we tried to make the visuals from a more modern perspective, but the results didn't earn a lot of acclaim from the Japanese audience; it made me realize that they definitely preferred the more anime-like look.
Something tells me that the game could have gotten more appeal if it wasn't Guilty Gear.
Then again, what the fuck do I know?
Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.God, even when he's being interviewed, he echos XD
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Ky was in overture and the fact Dizzy is around places GGX as canon, which contradicts the "everyone except Sol/Ky dies" in GG 1.
I still wanted to see the remaining outrages. I remember a lot of theories on what the remaining 5 were(I think there were 8 in all) with some being that I-no's guitar was one, Axl's kusurigama being another, and Paracelsus one as well.
I notice the outrages are something of a precursor to the Nox Nyctores.
