In the Poundland store I surprisingly saw several DV Ds for mostly obscurer Cartoon Network shows. Mike, Lu & Og, Time Squad, Megas Xl R, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, Juniper Lee, Class of 3000 as well as KND and Out of Jimmy's Ass. They have Content Partners and Eurodiscs logos and a Cartoon Network copyright notice. They were three episode DV Ds. They may of been more cheaply produced and literally had that rubbish bag smell (maybe the bag itself). They were Multi-Region. I got Mike Lu and Og and Time Squad and (keep in mind I haven't tried the latter yet) the former actually works.

I'm getting the idea these may be bootlegs. The Mike, Lu and Og DVD cover doesn't look legit and the DVD company's website doesn't seem to acknowledge their existence (Warner Bros. isn't even listed as a company partner).

How are the DVD transfers?

I've got three of these: Mike Lu & Og, Out Of Jimmy's Head and Sheep In The Big City. (I have not watched everything on them yet, but had some look at each.)

Quality seems OK, probably the same as they would be on TV (and for the record, they are PAL format). There is a slight problem with the aspect ratio though: they are 4:3 videos flagged as 16:9, so they will be stretched across (either live with that, or change your display settings).

Also, on the episode of Oo J'sH I looked at, the video used seems to have come from an Italian copy: it has a show title at the very start of the opening ("Jimmy fuori di testa"), an episode title, and an extra credits card for the localization. The rest of the episode (titles, audio and credits) are the original English.

I don't mean to sound like these are huge problems; just little odd things. But being poundshop discs, I'd say get them if you like any of the shows they've got.

There was a DVD of whats a probably horrible Video brinquedo knock off of Monsters Inc., and/or (?) Monsters Vs Aliens that may of been the same kind of DVD. Also that animated film where humans turned into fish. If they're bootlegs than what dos that make the CN copyright notice (show, characters, logo copyright of CN or something) and a different (illegal to copy this dvd) notice. The DVD tranfers seem decent. Didn't see Sheep. Should I still get these? Is it legal?
