...Apparently there's a new Ulver album coming May 5th? After they've already released one in 2011? I guess this is the unreleased '60s psychedelia covers album...

He ate simple vegetarian food and also undertook long fasts as means of both self-purification and social protest. Things to think about in the age of the wolf. Childhood's End is near. Sixteen Sixties songs. Its arrival will end all war, help form a world government and turn the planet into a near-utopia. Doublethink. Every man and woman is a star.

I remember sometime between Shadows of the Sun and Wars of the Roses they mentioned on MySpace that they were doing a cover album of old psychedelic songs. I assume that's what this is.

Somehow you know that the time is right.

[up][up] The thought of new Godspeed material coming out this year makes me feel like exploding and imploding at the same time, and I mean that in the best possible way.

So Mike Portnoy's only good post-DT venture have released their album. Sounds fantastic, a sorta poppy prog outfit (and I can't say no to a band with Neal Morse in it). I need to get a hold of the full-length at some point.

I don't think Storm Corrosion has been mentioned in this thread yet. Upcoming Mikael Akerfeldt/Steven Wilson collaboration, coming out in April or May, IIRC.

Every man and woman is a star.

Ooh, fun, Crowley reference.

P.S. If you know a little bit about esoteric philosophy, the Ulver description becomes a lot less "whatisthisidonteven."

P.P.S. That doesn't make it any less pretentious, though. But it's definitely eye-catching, in whatever case.

I can't hear the guitars, but it's probably in the style of pre-Unspoken King Cryptopsy. I haven't listened to that one yet, but the new one can't possibly be as big a disappointment.
