Rumors abound of a new Pig Destroyer album. Yes please!
Apparently they switched a drummer, which is a shame because the previous one ripped. The new one is from Misery Index, though, so it can't be all that bad.
Drudkh are also out with a new album. Apparently they've decided to stop imitating Alcest.
And Deftones are working on something too. Fuck man, if this isn't the year for music, I don't know what it is.

The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Best backstory ever.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.I've reworked my list. Holy shit guys.
I don't know if I'll manage to listen to all of this, but I might as well try, right?
Also that alleged Pole album is actually the third EP/single(?) in an ongoing series. Removed from list, but he's still long overdue checking out for me.

New Magnetic Fie—
Goddamnit, why did no-one tell me this?
I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception. The new Veil Of Maya album is amazing. Whereas [id] was basically a more polished, refined Common Man's Collapse, the new album takes both albums, pumps up the intensity and adds a whole new timbral dimension through stuff like clean guitar layers, synths, choral parts and the like. Also Brandon Butler still manages to make the vast majority of harsh vocalists out there sound like cheap hardcore frontmen.
Has anyone here heard Kishi Bashi's 151a? It's surprisingly excellent. He's opening for of Montreal on this tour (and he's a member of the touring band) and his album is like a Jonsi/of Montreal/Vampire Weekend combination. I highly recommend it.

http://www.last.fm/user/TRILLHOUSE_I just finished listening through all of RHP's albums. One of the best bands, probably.
Excited for that new album!
http://www.last.fm/user/TRILLHOUSE_I guess Rush's Clockwork Angels will be a concept piece of some sort.
Could be interesting.
no one will notice that I changed thisThere'll be a new :wumpscut: album April 6th.
Sounds interesting from the preview, a much more stripped down sound.
The cover art is NSFW though (*In a very Fan Disservice-y way*) so I can't link.
Not that there are any other :w: fans here to care. :P
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.New Fear Factory album is called The Industrialist. So if it's a concept album, it will be about a mogul? Could turn out well, if they actually bother writing music for the first time since Obsolete.
And apparently both Chimaira guitarists left the band, the less significant of whom replaces Byron Stroud on bass. Uh...
In other news, Daft Punk's new album is slated for 2013; it will be produced by Danger Mouse and they're collaborating with two 70s pop music personalities. Something tells me that next up it will be touted as a genre busting masterpiece and turn out to be a schizophrenic piece of shit, not unlike Here Lies Love and Lulu. But 2013, so yeah.
Oh, and Codeine reunited. If it's not gonna be like the Slint reunion, an album reinventing their previous style could be very nice. Their albums are getting reissued, currently as a huge ass 6LP/3CD box set. Wish I had the kind of income that would allow me to spend $80 on physical releases by bands I'm merely interested in.

So, Goldie decided to get back in the studio to make the 100th Metalheadz release, a single called Freedom. Surprising no-one, it's another Timeless rehash.
Not saying it's bad, but it's not fresh by any means. :/
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Hot damn, Thayer Sarrano
is putting out a new album this month.
Big news, Mentallo & The Fixer have suddenly sprung to life again, with a 4 disk box set of rarities and a new CD out later this year.

New Negură Bunget!
