My problem is with Bentley. Bentley comes out and tells Sly how scared he is that they won't be friends and that he'll become evil like Dr. M. Sly comforts him by telling him that'll never happen. Not more then ten minutes later what does he do? Fake amnesia and go screw around with Carmelita.

That's not the point! The point is Bentley was clearly distressed that their friendship would inevitably fall apart like Sly's and Dr.M's. And not more then an hour after Sly reassures him that'll never happen, that they'll be close friends forever, he fakes memory loss and runs off with the woman who's been trying to arrest them for years!

Did you ever see that episode of Chapelle show with Rick James and Charlie Murphy, where Rick James spends about a minute talking about how absurd the idea of him hitting Charlie for no reason is, and then immediately confirms he really did hit him? That's this situation, except that was intentional!

Sly probably made up for it off screen.

It's the fact that he did it at all that fucks up the ending.

but more to the point Panda King isn't as young as he used to be perhaps in the new game he'll pass the torch to Jin King.

This thread keeps reminding me I need to catch up on this series. I've only actually played the first one.

The second one is really good. It's definitely more polished, but I wouldn't call it better. Sly 2 and Sly 1 are so different it's really hard to compare them to each, but they're both great in their own right. 3 feels a bit too much like a mini game collection to me though. It's still good, but not great.

I think 3 had a good balance of the linear platforming of the first game and the more open-ended hub of 2. Can't necessarily say which of the three is my favorite (read: "I like 'em all"), but I wouldn't say that the third game is weaker (at least, overall) than its predecessors.

The third is good but Sailing is such a Scrappy Mechanic it brings the whole game down.

I was actually okay with the sailing bits, seeing as HAT was the first of the series that I could play to completion.

I missed looking for code bottles in Sly 3. It kinda justified looking around the big worlds, but it's omission in Sly 3 made exploring around pointless for the most part. I'm glad the new game's bringing the code bottles back though.

Ah, bottles. Don't know about in 2, but in 1, I had a terrible habit of missing just that one bottle in a number of levels. Even the upgraded binoculars didn't seem to help much sometimes...

I think the only problems I had with clue bottles was the wrecking ball level in Muggshot's world and one of Panda King's levels. I missed a clue bottle or two in others, but I found them in when I replayed the level.

So like, you buy then PS 3 version and get a download code for the Vita version? That would be pretty cool.

This is where the whole transferable (transfarable?) PS 3-PSV thing should be headed. Not buying two copies of tne same game, but getting both copies for the price of one or, at most, one and a half.

You transfer your PS 3 copy to the Vita (same game file)

@ Klark: There's a space between Percent and Completion in your previous post. That's why the link didn't work.

As for the bottles in the first game, my brother had a strategy guide for the first game, so we cheated there, but we banded together (as in I did most of the heavy work and he was my second pair of eyes) to get all the bottles for 2. It was a bit of work, but nothing ultimately too hard.

2's bottles weren't hard, exactly, but searching for individual items in an open environment tends to be prone to Last Lousy Point problems. I found it tedious compared to the first game, and it didn't help that (a) the safe contents weren't plot relevant (even though the rewards were mechanically the same) and (b) lack of replayability made some of the later powers less useful, most notably invisibility.

Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.

I hated how once you beat 2 there was nothing left to do. It seriously irked me that I couldn't go back and replay some of the more fun missions like I could in 1.

Oh yeah, the lack of replayable things in Sly 2 was depressing. It's like, hit 100%, and then just move on to Sly 3. Thankfully they brought back the challenges and replayable missions for 3.
