A thread to discuss the Trails Series of video games (known in Japan as the Kiseki series). Adaptations of the games are also on-topic.
As of May 2024, there is no specific spoiler policy for this thread, which means the the default forum spoiler policy
applies.
In summary:
- Spoilers for non-episodic works should remain tagged for a minimum of one month after the work's release.
- Spoilers for episodic works (including any DLC) should remain tagged for one month or until the next instalment releases, whichever is shorter.
There hasn't been much good news in months for people who want more Legend Of Heroes VI in English. Xseed has apparently been translating the second installment for PSP, but no release date yet, and they apparently have not had much sales success. Meanwhile, there have been no official statements about releasing the Windows versions in English.
But thanks to this Andriasang article
, I learned that Aeria Games (best known for MMORPGs) plans to release the Trails in the Sky trilogy internationally on smartphones. Some online and social functions will be added to the basic gameplay. No clear indication of what international smartphone platforms just yet.

It does not appear to be. The Septian Church is largely portrayed as a benevolent organization - heck, story-wise they're responsible for making a lot of the medicine in the setting - and there's been several party members throughout the series who are affiliated with the Church (like the aforementioned Kevin from Sky III), and even more who are noted or implied to be followers of Septianism (like Gaius, Alisa, and Elliot in Cold Steel).
The main face of the Septian Church in Cold Steel 1 is Sister Rosine, who generally seems to be a friendly and helpful individual.
Admittedly though, the series isn't over yet, so we might still get a plot twist where it turns out that Aidios is evil, but for now I doubt that. (My pet theory is that Aidios was a pre-Collapse woman who was very skilled at building Orbal technology).
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. The Church is for sure multifaceted. Like no technology from any legit company is allowed to be developed without their approval, any working artifacts found they seal away and do not allow any one to study. But counterpoint... tech is pretty out of control as is and most artifacts are extremely extremely dangerous. They also have an army and assassins.
Also anything Ouroboros does, some wings of the Church seem to be doing the same opposing them. However... if Ouroboros turn out to be Well-Intentioned Extremist , which is a possibility...
Ok that's got me thinking on what Ouroboros actually thinks on Aidios.
Weirdly enough, that'd be the second JRPG I've played where the Goddess is just an ordinary human who happened to be particularly skilled with the setting's Magitek from a time lost to history.
My musician pageC'mon, Just listen to Towa's voice. Is that the voice of a girl who would order war crimes?

I hadn't even been aware of that; I played Dragalia Lost, but I never got that far into the story.

Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Meanwhile, I'm sitting here wondering why I didn't recognize she voiced Sophia in Persona 5 Strikers. In retrospect, I can totally hear it.
Cassandra Lee, who voiced Sothis, is Fie and Alfin, while Joe Zieja, the voice of Claude, voices someone who debuts in CSIII.

Yeah, I remember that Fie and Alfin have Sothis and Morgana as their VA.
Yeah Claude's VA voiced one of the Imperial soldiers who acts all deferential to Jusis, it's hilarious.
Oh neat.
Elliot sounds familiar, but I can't place him.

Looking it up, he's... Felix from Three Houses? Huh, that's quite a contrast.

My musician pageJusis is voiced by Ben Diskin, who also did Jakob in Fire Emblem Fates.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Ben Diskin also did Lorenz and Caspar in Three Houses.
He basically has two main voices. His Numbuh One voice and his Numbuh Two voice. Jusis, Lorenz, and Jakob are the former and Caspar is the latter.
Besides him, Abby Trott voices Annette in Three Houses and Noel Seeker in Reverie.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Soooooo....... do any of you think I could get away with lying to people that Elise's feelings for Rean are because she wants to fuck him, but that she's sad that he can't think of himself as not a burden to his family and accept they love him?
It's technically true.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Hard to say. It's one thing to play Alfin's teasing off as a joke, since Alfin actually does have kind of a dirty sense of humor, but it might be harder when all of Class VII interprets Elise's feelings as romantic.
And you'll definitely need to skip her bonding events in IV.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.

One of the books series you can find in every game after Sky SC, Carnelia, is loosely based on Toval and Ein... loosely enough that the Church allowed the book to be published. You don't find out till Cold Steel 1 when you meet the writer Micht, who runs Trisa's Curio shop, and Sara talking about it in his shop about halfway through the game.
Up till Cold Steel 1 his only actual appearance with his real name and all was in a side manga "Ring of Judgement". Said manga never left Japan.
Basically Falcom is doing their usual Book teases with him for future content.
