A thread to discuss the Trails Series of video games (known in Japan as the Kiseki series). Adaptations of the games are also on-topic.

applies.
In summary:
- Spoilers for non-episodic works should remain tagged for a minimum of one month after the work's release.
- Spoilers for episodic works (including any DLC) should remain tagged for one month or until the next instalment releases, whichever is shorter.
There hasn't been much good news in months for people who want more Legend Of Heroes VI in English. Xseed has apparently been translating the second installment for PSP, but no release date yet, and they apparently have not had much sales success. Meanwhile, there have been no official statements about releasing the Windows versions in English.
But thanks to this Andriasang article
, I learned that Aeria Games (best known for MMORPGs) plans to release the Trails in the Sky trilogy internationally on smartphones. Some online and social functions will be added to the basic gameplay. No clear indication of what international smartphone platforms just yet.

Honestly knowing Olivert as he is adds to the experience of Sky IMO. Its so much fun knowing who he is with the actions he is up to.
And I do heavily recommend Sky, it is sooooooo good. You can usually find them rather cheap on Steam or GOG.
The OVA is a cliffnotes version of the second game's first uhh 7 chapters. It spoils like everything with zero impact the games had. It also spoils the hell out of the first game.

Alright, it's time to provide security for the parade. But I'm sure with how powerful and efficient the Imperial military is, nothing bad can happen right? This is the greatest country in the world and it's highschoolers are providing reserve security, surely nothing can go wrong.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Well that went to hell fast, I suddenly remembered everything the moment the fountains overflew.
Bro, Patrick thinks he's a main character. HAHAHAHAHAAH!
Can't tell who is dumber, Class VII for just STANDING THERE while G plays his demonic flute, or G for just STANDING THERE instead of getting the hell out of there with the valuable hostages.
Sara: Remember, the safety of the hostages are top priority.
Fie: "Fires lightning near the hostages, and shoots a volley at another hostage taker." K.
And totally not Crow makes his entrance along with his lackeys. I forgot how cool his weapon was. Gonna be honest, I was suprised as hell when Crow turned out to be C. Kid me had this wacky theory that C was actually Chancellor Osborne pulling one hell of a false flag operation.
Speaking of, Class VII formally meets the Chancellor after the debriefing, and the game plays some villain sounding music when he shows up. Dude looks so evil.
So wait, are Osborne and Sara characters from previous games? Anyway so Rean's heart reacts strangely to him. Seems they have some kind of connection.
But I forgot the big event that happened with Osborne, there was something major that happened to him and it involved Vita. Hmmmmm.......
Osborne: Class VII, a word of advice. The cunning warrior attacks neither body nor mind. This C must be educated, instruct him in the matters of loss, make him wish he were dead.
Rean: How?
Osborne: THE HEART SCHWARZER!!!!! First you should attack his heart.
Rean:....
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Sara is new in Cold Steel.
The 'Incidents' she was involved in and reference happened in the background in Sky, the whole thing is played down there so much that the only way to find out what happened before Sara is to read an overview report in Sky 3rd. So its pretty much new information.
Osborne however, yeah he has made previous appearances. Any predictions you might have on those are probably spot on.
So I looked up what games Crossbell was in because it sounded interesting according to the library, and the game sounds like my jam.
It's set mostly in the city of Crossbell, there's all sorts of crime, conspiracies, and detective work apparently.
How do people here feel about that duology?
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I'm curious as to how the bank of Crossbell fits into the plot. Like for some reason, the books in the library got me interested in it, and the fact they fund theme parks sounds suspicious to me.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"The Crossbell duology is REALLY good, it just took forever to get an English release. Thankfully we did get a release and it exceeded Falcom’s expectations as Reverie is both Cold Steel 5 AND Crossbell 3… you really needed to play Crossbell for it.
Zero and the first half Azure takes place concurrently with Cold Steel 1.

Once you're done with Cold Steel (or Cold Steel 2), I definitely recommend going back and playing the Sky trilogy and the Crossbell duology.
Definitely before moving on to Cold Steel 3, at least. That's when it starts turning into the Avengers: Infinity War of the series.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm not sure if I have time for the Sky games but the Crossbell games do sound interesting to me, like I said, I'm intrigued by the ide of an RPG being set mostly in a city full of conspiracies. Plus they are a duology, so that helps it feel less intimidating.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Ah..... how bad is the OVA?
