"Uh..." she said. "I'm just causing trouble. I should have known this wouldn't work. " She said the first part in English while she muttered the second part to herself in Japanese.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.As Hou watched the others interact, he was struck by a strange feeling... One of wanting. He too wanted to talk to the others... But his nature got in the way, ensuring he was too shy to try to talk with others. Glancing back at the others, he then went after the vending machine (after taking along the Black Broom of course). Pulling out a rather adorable looking frog pouch, he popped out a couple of coins and deposited the currency into the vendor.
Pausing as he glanced at the pickings, he chose Bubble Tea. While he was doing so, he was glancing at the others from the corner of his eyes. He rather liked them for being so interesting.
As if by some sort of sixth sense, one of Erin's eyes opened up to a narrow slit and locked on the frog purse that Hou was holding before quirking her mouth and closing it again. I must buy that later. Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.
Tetsuo looks sad. "Hmm? Willie Wonka? Who is... OH you must be referring to my skin. Well I was via...bad luck as you Americains would say told that the ganguro fashion was used by both men and women. Sadly I didn't know they were not telling the truth and my skin still needs to be clean of that."
Oh that idiot. I still need to find something fitting for him. He made me a LAUGHINGSTOCK.
Shizuko looked blankly at the invitation in her inbox. This... can't be right...
"Congratulations! You have won the right to test out a new advance in gaming technology. Digimon: NEO is the first extensive VR MMO ever developed and we here at Bandai would like to invite you to go be a beta tester. In this envelope you will see plane tickets or a phone number. At July 17th on 11 A.M will be the testing. While the tickets have already planned for this, people here in our native country of Japan need to call this number before and state that you're part of the "NEO project" and you'll get a ride for free." Shizuko blinked a couple times. She even rubbed her eyes. Uhm... I guess I'd better start packing...
Now here, Shizuko didn't know how to react to the people around her. This was normally how she acted around people, even ones she knew. She just wasn't the social type. Picking up a magazine, Shizuko did her best to ignore them, and wait patiently. My RP site. Please feel free to join!
Haruka said. "I will be honest with you. I am not a foreigner." she said in Japanese. "Don't tell anyone..."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Tetsuo grins at Haruko going right back into Japanese. He seems to look over her like she is nothing more than a pet dog wanting to be adopted. "And what can you do for me? You obviously must have some reason for lying to us. My convictions are not won over by pleases. I've learned from that. So...what can you do to make this a fair trade?"
May smirked as Olivia pulled off one of her earphones, ignoring the reactions of the others around them. Shifting her weight slightly, she responded to the college student's question with one of her own. "Curious. How do you feel being what appears to be the oldest here?" she asked, giving the older student a lookover.
Rue responded. "I... I guess I can speak English and Japanese. I'm a decent student. I'm pretty much useless besides that." she said.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.—Alistair enthusiastically shook the other fellow's hand, and was about to say something more when he caught wind of the arrogance from the orange-skin kid. He started flapping his hand about his nose, speaking in a stage whisper.—
"Oh, pahdon me, but I think I smell somethin' awful. Whaddya call it, whaddya call, big word, looong word, Oh I know!"
—He gave a derisive smirk right at Tetsuo. —
"Xenophobia. I don't think he lihkes us. Or anyone else, fer that matter."
"He could not know it. For it was not all a joke.""You must be as loose as those who practice ganguro, considering you are effectively trying to coerce something from that girl like that." Erin said aloud, not caring who heard. She still had her eyes closed and body relaxed, as though she didn't believe the man was worthy of respect. "Indecent." She said, kind of hypocritically considering her legs were spread apart like a boxers. Well, at least she wasn't wearing a skirt, but rather black jeans with multiple silver chains attached to the pockets.
Hou at this point was just staring at the group after he heard what happened. Pausing to open his drink and take a sip, he waited to see what happened next. I wish I could be as direct as them...

Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Ryu countined to nibble on the pocky as he saw Tetsuo act like a jerk. It reminded him of some bad experiences at school that caused him to be completely sheltered at home. He began to shudder a bit. He reached his hand into his other pocket to try and get out his phone. "Better safe than sorry." He muttered as he got out his phone. He stared at it, thinking about calling his mom.
"I don't want to judge." Rue said. "It's just his way of making a deal."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Tetsuo grins. And the time is now. But what is this xenophobia...We haven't learned that in language class yet... No matter.
Tetsuo goes right back into speaking slowly. "Well Alistair...I can tell you one thing. Unlike Rue here, I don't lie. Who's really the awful one here? Me...or the one who lies to every stranger she meets? At least I'm honest in my thoughts."
He turns to Erin going right back into Japanese. "I am not propositioning her. I am making sure she...secures her loyalties. Last time I trusted someone I got stuck with this Ganguro fashion. And that's one of many moments I've been betrayed. Am I not allowed to ask for a promise more than "Pretty please"? But that time has passed. She can't do anything for me. So why do anything for her?"
Rue sighed. "It's Ok... I'm not fooling anyone. It really is my fault."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."It's really my fault. You guys can leave him alone." she said quietly in both languages.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Joel's smile quickly changed to a slight frown at Sila's attitude towards him. Or what he could make of it, anyway. A slightly uncomfortable handshake and a blunt, one-word statement was hardly enough to get an accurate description of such things. But from what he could tell, the bespectacled boy was either suspicious or grumpy from the long and tiring trip. He wasn't prepared to rule out either option. "Nice to meet you too." He muttered, turning away from the Canadian to watch the orange-skinned Japanese boy make an ass of himself.
He shot the arrogant guy an angry glare before plopping back down in his chair. The orange dude seemed to take a lot of pride in his appearance. Just as well. The more he flaunted those fancy clothes and such, the sooner he'd find himself without them.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probably"Really?" Silas replied in the same tone, staring at Tetsuo out the corner of his eye as he spoke. "Frankly, I never would have guessed that, Alistair. And here I thought he was just some prick who's spent just a bit too much time in a tanning booth."
A faint smile tugged at the edge of his mouth then, but even though he was enjoying this joke a core of mild anger simmered beneath his human as he watched Tetsuo interact with that girl, Rue; he couldn't understand a word that they were saying, but their tones and body language indicated that it wasn't anything pleasant. To Silas, it almost seemed as though the orange-skinned youth was trying to extort something from the girl.
At his side, Silas' right hand trembled slightly as his fingers curled into a fist. He may not have been able to speak Japanese, but the Canadian teen knew a bully when he saw one, and his already-low opinion of Tetsuo dropped another notch; had this been taking place at his old school, he might have wiped that smug grin off the jerk's face with a sound knuckle-dusting. But it was not, and though he was sorely tempted to give Tetsuo a piece of his mind in the most direct and unequivocal manner possible Silas reined himself in; he was a stranger in a strange land, after all, and the last thing he needed was to make himself come off like some kind of deranged and violent thug. There was a time and place for these things, and this was neither.
Ah, so her uninvited guest was one of those types. Well, Olivia was not going to give the girl the satisfaction of rising to her bait.
"Bored, to be perfectly frank," she replied. "After all, if watching the rest of you butt heads like this is all I have to look forward to, it's going to get old fairly quickly."
And without further ado she slid her headphone back on and looked away, a clear indication that she considered the conversation to be over—finished.
The Danse Macabre CodexShizuko looked up from her magazine, these people were starting to REALLY get loud. It was really hard to ignore them, but frankly, Shizuko thought it best not to get involved.
My RP site. Please feel free to join!Rue looked at Silas and said. "Please no fighting. He hasn't done much wrong. It's my fault. Really. Just calm down." she said becoming quieter with every word.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.May took in Olivia's reaction with a frown. Humping to herself as the older girl turned to ignore her, she made her way back to the vending machines. Drawing out a handful of coins, she extracted two packets of Strawberry favored Pocky from the machine. Satisfied, she plopped back into a chair, snatching up one of the manga on the table as she flipped through it.

Patrick looked Tetsuo over. The orange skin reminded him of a children's book his family had sitting on the shelf upstairs. And the grating responses to the other contestants' conversations didn't help keep this down.
"And I'd heard a lot of things about Japan, and 'Home of Willie Wonka's workforce' wasn't one of 'em. Leave the Yank alone, unless you can get 'im a tour of the factory."
...and that's terrible.
