What Measure Is a Non-Human? at it's finest.
That being said, he does eventually bring himself to kill Doctor. He hates doing it, but he eventually does it.

One Strip! One Strip!Eh. Neither was that Itsuki dude, even though he just watched Sensui flip his shit because he liked it.
I mean, you'd think he'd point out that if there are good demons and bad demons, there are obviously good humans and bad humans.
Then again, the whole Enma was a brainwashing asshole thing kinda destroys that as well.
One Strip! One Strip! That's a separate issue. Togashi for some reason doesn't seem to have realized that Itsuki was an insane creep or something. And that Sensui is not in the least bit sympathetic.
I would say that Yusuke is totally right to hit Puu for leading Keiko into danger, but getting in danger is the only purpose she even has. He should be praised for giving her a reason to live.
You forget that Gamesmaster was driving said truck.
And before you point out that a kid shouldn't be driving a truck (not that you're wrong) also remember that said kid can make any game true within his territory. He probably used his powers to make the truck way faster than normal (since in driving games, the one driving the heroes vehicle or whatever can go as fast as he wants).
At least that's my assumption. They did have them pass that sports car earlier, which probably is supposed to be a sign of how fast it's going.

One Strip! One Strip!Togashi has actually said Keiko is his least favorite character in the series because she's "a very typical manga character". One has to wonder what his reason was for writing her that way, whether it be his opinion/sensibilities changed later, he felt he had to do it because of genre expectations, etc.

Well he was driving the truck somehow. Why else would they let him do it?
He was using his powers is the most logical explanation.
One Strip! One Strip!Flash Step doesn't always translate to long-distance sprinting, no. Mind, Yusuke was fully intent on catching the truck on foot, but Sensui kicked his attack back at him. Then Sniper intervened.
Hiei is the fast member of the party.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The truck sure didn't seem to be moving faster than a truck normally would. Not even close.
Okay I get that Togashi is trying to dial back the villain threat but it just. doesn't. work. I'm left wondering why Yusuke is in the least bit scared of this truck trying to run him over given that Toguro's punches, which he took to the face, did about a thousand times the damage this truck would do. Even if it is a magic truck that can somehow crash through fully grown trees.
This arc is so bad.

Up until the Demon Tournament, Yu Yu Hakusho was never the kind of series to do the "I'm strong enough to survive X things, so I've now got enough super endurance to tank anything else" bit - it isn't and never had been Dragon Ball Z, which explicitly has characters be immune to damage weaker than the power level they currently have (at least, until Super).
Most of the heroes, especially, have great endurance but are just as vulnerable to harm as the average person, but are portrayed as being able to take a lot more of it. Imo, the series is all the better for it - slows down Power Creep, and avoids a lot of needless escalations that would've really just made things a lot less interesting.

No. Yusuke tanked blows that could demolish a large stadium. People hit each other and made massive craters in the ground and then both fighters continued going. Remember when Yusuke was punched so hard by Toguro that he was thrown through an entire forest blowing up trees in his wake? Then he got two more powerups and that kind of blow did absolutely nothing to him anymore. Toguro flicking air at Yusuke was more damaging than Sniper's silly little dice and pebble attacks and much faster as well.
It's incredibly inconsistent.
Oh well, at least I get to see Kurama murder a small child soon.

Gotta be honest, you feel like you want to hate the show at this point. It's like you forget you're still watching a shonen anime.
And nah man, chapter black is one of Togashi's best. Well I like how dark tournament ended more(ending of chapter Black is probably my only real issue with it) but it's definitely my favorite arc in the series and usually agreed to be one of the better ones in the show. But of course no accounting for taste and what not; after all I think Hx H's chimera ant arc is a bloated, pretentious snoozefest with some good moments ruined by HORRENDOUS pacing, some of the worst character design to come from Togashi yet(cheetah furry with booty shorts FTL) and way too many characters. Yet a lot of fans claim it as one of the best shonen arcs ever and togashi's best work. Personally I think York Shin is HXH's apex, and I feel urban fantasy is where Togashi's style shines most, aspects both York Shin and Chapter Black really played up in comparisons to other arcs.

That's not even remotely true. If you can take one of Toguro's punches, you can take massive impacts with minimal damage. And several characters show the ability to completely shrug off weaker attacks.
YYH really isn't as different from DBZ or other shonen as people try it make it out.
I think Chapter Black is probably the worst arc (discounting the manga just straight up falling apart at the end), at least once it completely turns to shit during Yusuke vs Sensui. But the attempt to do something different after the previous arcs' power creep is just poorly done, most enemies either aren't a credible threat or need to possess stupidly broken powers to do so.
Coupled with the really inconsistent characterizations and Yusuke's pointless moral dilemma with the Doctor ("Don't worry Yusuke, the Doctor is alive which lets you seem like you made a tough decision but with no consequences whatsoever!")
Also, as to forgetting it's a shonen anime - I feel like many of the fans try to make it seem as different from Shonen anime as they can, when it's really not. And even among shonen anime, these flaws are still flaws.
I'd still consider myself a fan of these series but goddamn it is has even more holes in it than my career path.

I don't want to hate the show, I'm just disappointed by it. It's worse than I remembered. Frankly, this whole time I've been comparing it to other shounen manga and, while I know this is going to upset some people, I find myself rating it lower than Naruto. At least up until the point I stopped reading, anyway, after which it really went to shit from what I hear. Though to be fair I may be forgetting some of the really terrible pre ninja war stuff.
That said, I haven't gotten to my favorite arc yet. I remember liking the demon world arc quite a bit.
By the way, I should note that I didn't hate the dark tournament, I just thought it was too long and that Toguro was boring.

I never got the impression YYH was super different than most shonen, in fact I'm not sure where this sentiment is from(maybe it's more recent) as it was compared a lot to DBZ and such back when it aired, it's pretty darn shonen-ny. HXH is the one that does a bunch of subversions. and such. I picture YYH as Togashi playing the genre straight, and HXH as him turning it on its head.
I initially thought Chapter Black was among the worst arcs when I was younger and didn't really appreciate it until I rewatched the series earlier last year. Then it became my favorite one. The last fight itself isn't even bad all the way, just the way it concludes which is pretty asspullish and kind of hurts Yusuke's character at the same time. Though really I question the taste of anyone who serious thinks Rondo arc is better <_<
Okay calling Rando its own arc changes things, i like groupimg the pre-dark tourney stuff together because comparing short arcs to longer arcs is hard as they're so dissimilar
The YYH/DBZ comparisons are often used to show how un-DBZ/Shonen YYH is. For the record i wouldnt call Hx H extremely different either
As someone who regularly compares YYH and DBZ, I have never done it to show how YYH isn't shounen as all hell. I bring it up merely to show how i feel YYH has more depth and substance to it than the average trash that constitutes battle shounen.
I hate Goku, I hate Luffy, I hate Naruto, I hate Ichigo. Shounen is littered with MC's I despise and I like their series despite them, not because of them. But with Yusuke...he is legit my favorite part of YYH. He's just a fantastic character who I can believe people follow. because he isn't an Idiot Hero. I guess Ichigo isn't one either but Yusuke also has a cool character arc of getting over his juvenile and punk mindset and becoming a genuine hero.
A decent bit of this is no doubt down to presentation. Funimation and Justin Cook helped make Yusuke Urameshi a real person to me and not just a one-dimensional anime guy.

Juri is hotter than Koto and better dressed. Koto is a better announcer though, especially since she was kind of snarky. But Idk Juri looks better and is cuter. Man hard to choose...
I actually hated that Karasu won that. It was a nice twist but I still get salty over it.
Now I don't like Younger Toguro as much as some other people since I think he looks slightly corny(there's a such thing as too much muscle and his treeman-looking final form looks flat out silly) but he does a mighty fine job as the final boss of that arc. He feels powerful, he gives a pretty cool fight(I disagree it was boring), and his battle had a lot of meaning both in regards to Yusuke's growth and his own growth as a character. He's a villain I can respect even if I'm rooting against him.
When I was younger I hated Toguro but being older I like them as villains a lot more. Sensui too.
lol remember when Genkai called the beautiful shizuka a fruitcake? Mean as it was it was such a juvenile insult that it wrapped around and became funny.
