Ok, I think it's not a mistery that the Italian translation has slowly grown a lot since his birth two years ago. And we have looots of questions, as we are still (slowly) growing... but only if we are talking about trope pages. We are only just now talking about work pages (we have a few of them, but not enough to count XD) and how to do them, and we want to be on par with the rest of the wiki.

Specifically, I am talking about the namespaces for the various media. Till now we used the It/ namespace, but we observed that now almost every work has a medium namespace. It's obviosly cleaner.

So we were asking ourselves... what should we do? Leaving the It/ namespace is out of the question, it's just postponing work. Our "plan" is to put the It prefix before the medium. For example... The Dresden Files will be ItLetteratura/TheDresdenFiles (as of now it's The Dresden Files).

Then... here comes another issue. As you can see if you clicked on the Italian link of The Dresden Files, on the top of the page there are all the English tabs, like Fridge, and YMMV. We don't... how can I put this... need them. In fact, when (you could say "if") we will have our own tabs, it's going to be a huge mess. Is there a way to "separate" the two versions? Note that this issue is not limited to the work pages, the trope pages have it too, like Uncanny Valley.

On the subject of tabs. Some of them are different, like Darth Wiki or subpages like YMMV. Is there a script to change their colours we can use, or we have to point out which namespace belong to a specific colour scheme? Having our version of the home page of the Darth Wiki as plain white is kind of depressing.

And, ah, our Subjective Tropes aren't "legitimately" subjective, since they are not pointed as such in the respective pages. Actually, we don't really know how this actually works. I mean, the YMMV (and Trivia) warning on top of the tropes' pages appears because they are in the YMMV index, or because they are "marked" as such one by one? Or do we have to put an image in its place?

I know I'v been a huge pain (and I don't even know if this is the right section...) but I have a last question. Why are some links, that should be red because they were not translated yet, displayed as blue? It became oddly ironic when this happened to the equivalent of The Page For Redlinks Exists Now So We Put This Link In Instead XD

Thanks to all if you read this huge wall of text, and excuse if I got something wrong. Bye!

And anyway, pardon my not-that-good English.

I second that.

Come on, guys: we're trying to bring knowledge to our people. We need those improvements!

(Pretty please?) sad

I'm working on two-level namespaces right now. This would enable things like ../It/Literature/GumbyTakesADump. So, hold off on things like ItLiterature, please. It has a bad case of the uglies.

That's wonderful, thanks! And yes, what we "devised" was kind of (and by "kind of" I mean really) ugly, but it was the only workaround we could think of.

And anyway, pardon my not-that-good English.

Well, that's even better than I hoped. This means we will get national icons too, right?

I think it speaks volumes that I was unaware that we even had alternate language equivalents of this site. I was aware that there was a "German Tvtropes", but I assumed that was on another site entirely.

Who exactly is in charge of this whole thing? :|

There's no like, "head" of each language version of the site? Are they okay? I'd think they'd have fallen apart by now if it's just an anarchy over there. Unless you're a polyglot and I don't know it, or somethin'.

^ Well, there's organized efforts going on in the Translation forum. There might be unofficial leaders, but no official ones.

There aren't enough of us to need "heads", official or not. So, yes, it's basically anarchy, but one that works. evil grin
One of us makes a suggestion, we discuss it, and it's done.
We simply follow your policy, that's all. For example, if I realize a trope has been renamed, and if the Italian name is similar, we change it too. After talking about it, obviously.

EDIT: Gosh, I hate writing in this "we mode" tongue

[up][up][up]When the translation started, I basically got it off the ground and acted as an organiser and arbitrator, though I had to cut back significantly due to the rise of real life.
