A type of pony/pixie/fairy from the G1 cartoons.
Ponies with butterfly wings, basically. I think. I don't know jack about earlier generations.
Reaction Image RepositoryThey had a powerful magically-enhanced sonic wing attack that they used to break up the Smooze, but were rather insular. They used a powerful artifact to make their valley habitable.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!
That's exactly what I was thinking. Still next to the forest, but a different section. Do they have a Zecora equivalent as well?

I had considered that possibility as well. Maybe the two groups first interact when Twilight and her foil both visit Zecora at the same time.
If they all went to the same flight school/camp I imagine they wouldn't actually know each other very well. Both Smoke Screen and Check Up are introverts and neither really show a deep interest in competitive flying. They probably know Dash more through reputation then anything else.
I imagine if the three of them did meet, Dash would not recognize them, and Smoke Screen and Check Up would probably say that she reminds them of somepony from school/camp.

Zecora is probably one of Moonbeam's many "contacts". I imagine the rest of the other six will be more suspicious of Zecora then fearful. Most of them would probably assume she just some weird Pony hermit, except Big Rig who in his travels across Equestria has seen several Zebra.

Yes I agree.
@ Zecora ideas.
These are all good. Love them, and I love the idea of Check Up casually dismissing her abilities.
Also, few thoughts:
I had a long had think whilst out and about visiting family and friends...and I think that I've been looking at Moonbeam in the wrong light (HA!).
Maybe...hear me out now...Moonbeam can still be nerdy and adorkable like Twilight...but it's his poor timekeeping and organisational skills and belief in 'wild theorys' that is the contrast. Like Twilight is the student who studys all the time in her tidy room, working to a schedule...he's the one who lays around playing the Xbox all week, room a complete mess, then crams the night before.
And he's a bit of an intrepid reporter...working to expose what he calls the truth...basically, he's a younger (?), male pony version of Jade.

My fanfic outline. RIP Posey
That really doesn't conflict with how we are thinking of him now. . .sort of. Until now we have been kind of playing him up as a straight spy hero with access to all kinds of spy junk (underground base anyone?).
I personally thought it would be better if we don't emphasize that aspect. He can still be crafty, know how to make simple gadgets on the fly, he is very intelligent and knows how to get things and information from others. Actually I liked to imagine that he runs his own little tabloid piece so making him something of an Intrepid Reporter is a good thing. He can certainly be nerdy (he kind of has to be), but I rather he not be Adorkable.
And now, to go with m written descrition of Prince Tidus, I give you a doodle!

I really don't have much to contribute to the foil talk, alas. I'd sort of spent too much time developing my own set, and hadn't paid attention while the communal ones were being made.

Woah,
nice Tidus!

Why did I say Adorkable for.....sorry forget that. But the rest could still stand. A geeky (bespectacled?) reporter as the Princess of the Night's personal champion?

My fanfic outline. RIP PoseyThere are a couple of maps of Equestria, but they vary quite wildly. Given there's no concrete evidence as to where things rte, you pretty much have free rein. Everfree is obviously beside Ponyville, and Manehattan is close by too, as Applejack was able to travel there, but as for everything else...

Don't you try anything, you baked good you.![]()
thank you! Granted he'd rarely look quite that pleased, usually much more ambivalent. I suppose something has simply happened to make him a bit happier today.
True, true!
There's also the fact that it's less than a days walk from Canterlot, as we saw in Best Night Ever. But yeah, we don't have any canon layout of Equestria. Nor of anything outside Equestria, aside from the knowledge that it's only one country.

My fanfic outline. RIP PoseyIf we complie enough information from the episode we should be able to get a rough idea. We know:
- That Everfree is within sight of the Fluttershy's home
- That Fluttershy's home is on the out skirts of Ponyvile
- That Ponyvile is west of Canterlot (The sun rises over Canterlot which is always shown on a mountain behiend Ponyvile so we can assume that way is east)

wait... damn, that throws a wrench into The Colour You Bleed. I had said that west of Canterlot the mountains pretty much drop off into Aloa. IF Ponyville is west, that would mean that the entire valley is west of Canterlot...
Well as long as most of his personality remains the same (Brilliant, but Lazy, makes up plans as he goes along, impulsive), but we make him less like a spy hero and more like an Intrepid Reporter I'm ok with that.

I was honestly thinking something along the lines of a largish coastal town, but I'm not sure.

Look at this...one and a half days...eight pages...well done guys...well done.
Yes that's all good. Smoke Screen, Big Rig and Pig Iron can be the 'fighters'...though what about Scales? Still dangerous?
