She put her hat back on, it was kind of a pain trying to get her hair in it. She would have tied it back in a ponytail first but...well, the less she looked like she did on the job, the better.
Burn up, hurricane of justice! As he was wandering down the street, avoiding the occasional kick (the beggar disguise had some disadvantages) Lakan caught sight of a familiar masked man in one of the market's middling-quality shoe stores.
Dragging himself to the shop with a distinctive old man's hobble, he eventually sidled up to the famed wrestler, apparently engaged in conversation with a young woman. Feigning extreme timidity, he reached out with a shaking, palsied hand and tapped El Jabali on the back.
"Spare a hext for an old man with a bad hip, great luchador?? Please, I have twelve constantly screaming gran' chilgren to feed." He said in his best pitiful old man voice, making sure that the dirt was properly smeared on his face.

Emi hopped off her bed, and hurried out the door. She waved to the inkeeper as she left, then headed out the door, back onto the street. So, the market district. She knew there was a pretty nice clothing shop there.
And she knew a nice and shady route to get there, too.
"So, what kinda clothes are you going to get?" Emi asked Alex, taking her money out of her bag to divide it up for the two of them.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
She contemplated Emi's question for a moment. Honestly, she didn't know much about fancy clothes. She'd had some formal dresses when she was much younger, but she wouldn't be caught dead wearing anything like that nowadays.
"Hmm, I don't know." she replied, "I guess I'll see what catches my eye when we get there."

Burn up, hurricane of justice!"Alright," Emi replied, with a cheerful smile, "I don't really know what I'm going to get either, so we'll both be looking for something new!"
She handed Alex her portion of the money, and continued onward towards the market district. The shop she was heading for was 'Bjorhogohossen's'. It was a fairly large shop owned by a... Emi wasn't exactly sure what he was. But the people he hired made good clothes.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
She continued following Emi.
Burn up, hurricane of justice! In a few minutes (you can walk quite quickly if your legs are the length of a short man), Thormund had dropped the supplies home and told Hilda he'd probably be back to help make dinner. He wondered whether to change himself out of armor, but he decided against it: Those same guards he'd challenged before might want to backstab an unarmored giant, better to stay equipped for the day.
In a short while, he was at the commercial district again: It didn't take much to find Jabali, not with the two dragon ladies around. "S'up, man?", he said.
You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Meanwhile, a mercenary hired to guard the much talked about party was currently residing at their residence. She doubted that any infamous brutes or extremely tricky rogues would arrive, only minor criminals that aren't too bright, as she believed the word would have spread that she was hired to watch over the celebration.
Her title was quite famous, even to those outside the bounty hunting community, "The Bounty Reaper". Her former master Martha said the title was an intimidation ploy, with how close it was to the grim reaper. Thinking back, it was sort of hard to relate Martha to the grim reaper, she usually gave off a relaxed atmosphere rather than a forboding one.
She looked at her equipment, her wands were fully charged, her crossbow was in fine condition and her bolts were plenty in supply. Even if the job was likely to go slow, it was better to be safe and sorry.
Looking in the mirror to see what replaced her eyes, she didn't cry. Not just because she lost the ability when her eyeballs were removed but because it never really bothered her, they could be easily covered with some goggles and were a good tool for intimidation.
After tomorrow's over I think I'll be good with money. I need to find a job that would be adventurous...it's been so slow recently...

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Chandri knew his containment apell wouldn't last forever so he took the bag, placed it in the center of the permanent circle in his lab, raised the protections then released the spell. With luck the guardian could be reasoned and/or bargained with. if not hopefully it wouldn't be too powerful to dismiss. If that didn't work hopefully the lab wouldn't get too smashed up. He hated when that happened.
@daltar: sorry I didn't get back to the game sooner to deal with it. Got disconnected and just got reconnected a little whiel ago
Trump delenda estThe dragon girl really wasn't paying much attention to her surroundings. She walked where the others walked, she didn't acknowledge those around her. Wagner WAS known to be a sort of air-head.
"Huh?" Wagner blinked, realizing she was now in a building. A shoe store, at that.
"O-oh.. um..." she stuttered nervously. She really didn't know what to say, what to do, or what kind of shoes she even wanted. This place was new to her and so were the stores.
"Umm..." the girl looked to a row of shoes to the side. She took a step forward as her white tail reared up from under her dress. "Stay!" Wagner commanded as the tail resceded back under the cover of her garment.
"Oiii..." one would wonder why she acted the way she did.

"Ah, yes, sir!" El Jabali said, tossing a coin to the beggar. "Use it to buy some food. Now, I have a friens to help."
He turned to the giant. "Ah, Thormund! El Jabali had been thinking about you recently! Have you considered El Jabali's prizefight offering? It would certainly help cover the costs to make sure these ladies here are settled! Weapons, armor, housing and such."
It wasn't long before the two reached the bustling market district. Emi winced, it was too sunny! She could feel her skin tingling already... she retreated to an overhanging roof to escape the direct sunlight.
"It's too sunny," she complained. She scanned the shop-fronts... "Ah... Do you see a sign for the shop? I don't want to go until I know I can just run to it..."
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Bless you great El Jabali" Lakan said before limping away. The dragon-girls were in that store as well, from what he could see from the display window. But with El Jabali nearby, bothering them even in a friendly manner would probably end badly.
As he wandered down the market street, making sure to thank the passers-by for the stones they tossed his way, he began to hear disturbing news.
The Wensteilwells were holding a party tomorrow evening and all of the city's most illustrious residents were invited to attend, no expense was being spared to hire the greatest entertainment in the city and-
"and yet I am not invited? They claim to have the greatest entertainers in the city and yet they ignore me, Lakan Ting, greatest thespian in Hercine!?"
This injustice would not go unpunished. By the end of their little garden party, all of the city's well-to-do would remember him.
"Huh?" Wagner pulled her head up, looking straight at Amairei. The other dragon girl found some shoes? Great, now she didn't have to go through the fuss of looking for them herself.
"You did? Great!" she said with a smile, making her way over to her new friend. "Umm..." her attention went from the other girl to the shoes. Brown ones, black ones, nothing she liked. "Umm..." a finger found itself gripping onto her lip. She tugged on the bottom of her mouth in impatience. What was her problem?
"Why yes, they are friends who are girls, Thormund." El Jabali explained, "They are both very new to the city, and El Jabali thought he would get them introduced to this grand city! And as for that issue with hand-to-hand, I see minimal problems. El Jabali is so short, and you are so tall, you have an inherent advantage here!"
"No, no, those brown shoes are fine. I just want to get out of here and look for my dad." she said without hesitation. She bent down to grab the brown shoes that Amarai had pointed out. She walked away to find a good place to sit down to put the shoes on. With one kick the damaged shoe flew off. A second kick and her other shoe went flying.
"Alright." she quickly placed one foot through each shoe. The dragon girl stood up and stretched her arms into the air, smiling with a job well done.
"I think these are fine!"

That's not it, nope, uh uh...
"Ah! Is that it?" she asked, pointing to a shop.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!

"So, the party's tomorrow, and I've got some money to spend," Emi said, her grin returning in full force. "What do you say we go out and buy some nice clothes to crash it in?"
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
