Wow.
First - I love Arkham as the mastermind. :D
Second - "Oh, I know you're there. I'm just looking for supplies."
Second - wait, if Andrea isn't the Phantasm then who is?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI've been watching these, and he nails the Joker.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseNew episode is up! Very Inception-y vibe.
"Urge to thump... rising." -FighteerThat episode was brilliant. :D I was actually reminded more of American McGee's Alice, but perverting the story of introspective recovery into introspective corruption, but I guess since Inception is also a Nolan film it is the obvious comparison. X)
I was reading through the tropes page, and something occurred to me based on one of the entries about references to Joker in the comics. Specifically, "One Bad Day" - comicsJoker says it's what he and Batman had in common that spurred both of them to go From Nobody to Nightmare. But blogsJoker, like his inspiration in The Dark Knight, is just an evil bastard with no Freudian Excuse, and so he comments that one bad day is the difference between them - Batman had one and he didn't, yet here they both are anyway.
This set me thinking about everyone else who has had One Bad Day in this series. Jeremiah Arkham. Harlene Kopski. Ted Bayer. Ted the Bum is interesting - he's the only one on this list whose bad day Joker was not directly responsible for. And, the more I think about it, the more interesting he is - he's involuntarily distanced from his family, he keeps showing exceptional skill at an increasingly absurd number of tasks, he's lost everything he cares about to the point of suicide ideation... and Joker has decided to teach him to see the funny side of life. With all of these traits together, he really seems to be developing into a fascinating character foil for Batman - who is responsible for at least part of his Bad Day. Therefore:
Whatever happens to the original Joker by the end of the series, his legacy will live on - not only through Harleen's complete metamorphosis but also through Ted the Bum becoming a new Joker.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableOh, crap!
I forgot about these!
\*slaps self*
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else...Well shit.
I forgot about these!
Also, Oh, Crap!. I'd be really surprised if they actually killed Lex Luthor already, but...
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableSo, whatever happened to this series? There were stories about episodes being filmed and awaiting editing/release at some point, but it seems like the whole thing just kind of... stopped.
Is there some news I'm missing, or has it really gone the way of so many other good fanseries?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. There hasn't been any news at all. People even gave them money but they just...stopped. No news on their Twitter or their Facebook. It's pretty dead.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? After a three year hiatus: its back
"Urge to thump... rising." -FighteerAwwww you beat me to it!
