John K. probably used the artwork to build his hidey-hole from the world.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I personally think John K. is arrogant and kind of an asshole. Despite this, he is hilarious and my favorite cartoonist ever. I can separate the bad he's done and the good. He's also a huge influence.
I'm glad I finally know what happened, but this is the most rage I've felt in months.
In 8th grade I used to search Google News EVERY SINGLE DAY at the same time (ass burger schedule keeping stuff) on "Spumco" and "John K" in order to get news.
I was so excited..
I'm going with the Nostalgia Critic's new potential meme, "fucking people" on this one. I don't know what movie the clip is from, which sucks.
signature lineI see nothing wrong with the layout shown (and the sketch of the girl in the next to last page looks almost exactly like a friend of mine). Too much white? You mean like many other non-fiction coffee table books?
I wouldn't mind having a copy.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I think that Mr. Kricfalusi was being too picky as usual. The reason he got fired from Nickelodeon was arguably because of his strive for perfection. He was also too arrogant to work with Dreamworks, who contacted him specifically to direct a movie.
The layouts look fine to me as well, but we have to remember he's John K. He thinks the Genie from Aladdin looks too "bland".
signature lineI think that if we readers had NO IDEA about the Hell involved in the production of this book, the layout would've been FINE. But as Amid makes clear, they wanted a completely different approach to how it looked. This was not it, the director and designer were being complete assholes about it, and now we won't get any book.

Another reason why we tropers should hate Executive Meddling. Even though I'm not big into Spumco(except for Mighty Mouse before John founded the studio) I've always wondered why there wasn't an art book of Spumco. It would have been nice to see one released for the 20th anniversary for Ren and Stimpy.
