In the same village there stood a tall, hollow suit of armor. It had its arms crossed with an unamused aura about it. "They show no self restraint." commented the human automaton.
He kept to himself from the idiocy before him. All of these demons, people, whatever weren't worth his time or so he thought. He had a job to do and a place to get back to. This display of utter stupidity just came out of nowhere as he was making his way through. This happened and then that happened and now he was forced to wait it out.

"ARE YOU READY TO ROCK AN' ROLL?!?!"
Cricket. Cricket.
"Oh screw you, you damn bourgeois," Lumi cursed at the demons who had promptly ignored her, going about their usual business. She jumped off the crate she had been standing on and kicked a rock in frustration, "Stupid bastards wouldn't know good music if it hit them over the head..."
With her hands in her pocket and her shoulders slouched, the demon rocker trudged down the road a tad bit disheartened at the lack of reaction from the other demons.
"Um... I'm ready to rock and roll! I think."
The young human dressed oddly like a Christmas elf had been startled out of her nap by Lumi's sudden cry, but she liked the sound of what she was yelling about. Besides, she was having a boring dream anyways. For one thing, nothing exploded in it.
"Hey, wait up!" she cried, chasing after the demon. She probably would've been able to walk faster were she not lugging around a rather heavy looking book. "I love that kind of music! That's the kind where they always have huge explosions and pyrotechnics during the live shows, right? Then I love it~♥!"

Alexander gave an irritated look to the girl declaring something about Rock 'n Roll. Thankfully, everyone saw sense to ignore her. As if distracting music would help with his listening in to those guys...
No, wait, some human seemed to be trying to encourage the noise. Just lovely. Alex watched them warily, ready to smash that guitar if there was even so much as a single strum. This had the effect of completely distracting him from the group of demons, as well as all memory of what he'd gleaned from them.
Christina side stepped a lunge from the ghoul, giving him a quizzical look. "Mister, why would you use a technique that not only is far too slow to effectively hit someone, but even attempt it in the first place? That's incredibly mean and uncalled for."
Several demons growled at those words. How did this girl keep on talking as if she had no idea how insulting she was?
"Your body seems far too stiff for that swing of your arm to deal any damage anyway..." Chrissy continued thoughtfully. Glancing over the head of the mob, she saw a giant, armoured thing. Judging by its pose, it was probably capable of movement.
"See, that thing there looks strong. Possibly slower than you, but he probably wouldn't decompose if I whacked him."
The ghoul looked at his angered comrades, gave a nod, and the whole group advanced menacingly.
Huh? Did someone just say they love rock 'n roll? Aha! So they aren't all lame ass bourgeois!
Lumi swiveled around to face the human girl with a huge grin, showing off her demon fangs, "You think you're cool enough to handle the CHAOS that is PUNK ROCKER LUMI?! CAN YOU HANDLE THE ANARCHY, KID?!"
"BECAUSE IF YOU CAN, WE ARE GONNA HAVE A &#@% BLAST!" She then paused, realizing something, "Hey, what the hell was with that censor?"

It seems I've brought attention to myself.
The armor lifted its head to watch the approaching demons. Disgusting, angry creatures they were. If Cain could smell, he'd probably hold his nose. "You may be demons but do you not value your own lives?" he asked the question with a hint of indulgence. If they ran, he wouldn't do anything. If they attacked, he would honestly take pride in wiping them off the face of the planet.
"I ask again, do you value your lives?"
Shae was meeting with Dr. Ambientus, the scientist who had came up with the way to enter the Netherworld, where his beloved Shina had been taken by that fiendish demon. It was easily one of the most frightening things Shae had ever seen. A large form, two horns on the head and wielding a sickle, the very image of a frightening Demon Lord who no doubt worked for the Overlord.
The doctor smiled, "Are you certain you wish to do anything to retrieve your beloved, and defeat the heinous Overlord?"
Shae nodded, no matter what, he was going to become a Hero so that he could protect that which was precious to him and fight for love and justice, "Yes! No matter what, I am determined to protect that which is precious!"
The albino doctor smiled, "It is so refreshing that there are still such promising youths out there...now, what I will do is this: I will cast a spell on you that will guarantee you can survive in the Netherworld and which will protect you from fearsome curses."
Shae nodded, "Thank you, Ambientus. You have done so much for me...if only I could repay you."
Ambientus just kept that smile, "Oh, no worries young master, I find repayment in that gratitude."
He motioned and electricity flew off of his gauntlet covered hands, circling Shae and the young man winced as the electricity entered him, the magic conjoining itself into him. It was a lot more painful than what his reaction would suggest, but if it was required for him to rescue Shina, he would take on even greater pains...
The scientist revealed a Dimension Gate and Shae walked through it, confident and assured it would lead to the correct location for him to bring her back.
He did not really know which game he was in.
He wound up getting left on top of a building near the village center. He looked around, "H-Hey, where am I? This doesn't look like anywhere a Demon Lord would live..."
He looked back just in time to see the Dimension Gate close. "W-Wait, doctor...why'd you close the Gate? Oh, come on..."
And as if to add more insult, he fell off the roof due to poor footing, and landed right nearby the demons. He gulped upon getting back up, "Ulp...I-I'm completely surrounded by demons..." Come on, you're Shae Van Ishvell, the nineteenth in line to become King of Ruvenon Kingdom!
He drew his sword and looked around, but found himself confused...were these demons fighting for some reason?

Ugh, doesn't she have an indoor voice? Alex wondered irritably, ignoring the fact that they were currently outside. He continued to glare in the two girl's general direction.
The demon mob had ceased their advance when the armoured figure had approached. Before anyone could really answer, Chrissy cheerfully piped up, "Well, from what I hear, everyone wants to find a button 0r badge or whatever that'll make them an Overlord! That suggests to me that everyone hates their current life style!"
"That's it!" A scaly creature growled, and moved to grab the celestial from behind, when someone fell nearby.
Curiously, everyone watched the boy climb to his feet, weapon drawn.
"...This human seems a tad clumsy and clueless," Chrissy pointed out. "Which will possibly hinder his sword-fighting abilities, or maybe even boost them if the wild flailing is too dangerous to react to."
"A... A blast~♥?" The girl's already cheerful face spread into the most giddy smile imaginable. "I love the sound of that!" She was so full of glee and energy that she was not just bouncing on the spot, but it seemed like she was furiously working some kind of invisible pogo stick.
"...I guess this game has a lower age rating than we thought, huh." She pondered aloud, before thrusting out her non-book holding hand at Lumi with gusto. "I'm Amber! Charmed, huh?"
"H-Hey, I was trained in swordsmanship by the master at arms. Granted, I have never been able to beat him to this day, but...that has to amount to something..."
Wait a minute, he thought, that looked like an angel! He was not doomed!
"Oh, uh, Miss Angel...I am the Hero Shae, and I'm here to rescue my beloved Shina!"
Lumi took the offered hand and shook it vigorously. A tad too vigorously. "The name's Lumiere, but I'm better known as PUNK ROCKER LUMI THE ULTIMATE ROCKER!" Her grin widened as she finally released the other girl's hand, appearing much more energetic now she had made a new friend. One who liked rock 'n roll at that.
However, she couldn't shake this certain feeling...
"...hey do ya get the feeling someone's trying to burn a hole in ya with their eyes?" She asked, glancing as she did so, but seemed to miss spotting the boy glaring at them. Instead of shrugging it off as her imagination, she opted for a different approach. By calling whoever it was out, regardless if it were her imagination or not, "OI, WHATEVER SHITTY BOURGEOIS IS STARING, BETTER COME OUT AND FACE ME LIKE A MAN!"
It was a wonder, why some of the passing demons could do nothing but face palm at the rocker girl.
Cain watched the newcomer fall from the sky and to the ground. Whatever had just happened, it broke the tension that Cain was previously feeling. "And a newcomer arrives." the knight crossed his arms as he watched the scene unfold through his empty helm. This boy was trained in swordsman ship? That girl was an angel? This was becoming a bad joke.
Cain couldn't help bet let out an audible chuckle at the mention of hero.
"Huh, censors must be doing a pretty sloppy job," Amber muttered to herself, shaking Lumi's hand just as vigourously, if not more so. She seemed like a nice person, even if she was a little loud, and it would be so nice to make new friends.
Especially after what happened to her old ones. But at least she'd learned something important from that experience: demons can't outrun a 20 kilometer blast radius.
"It's really nice to meet you, Lumi~♥ And yeah, I sometimes get that feeling. Although not for long, seeing how I usually just toss a few spells around until it goes away, hehe~♥"

"What was that?!" Alex snarled, stomping towards the loud-mouth. Brandishing his sword menacingly, the young demon glared furiously the woman. "Did you just insult me? You better take that back!"
Alex gripped his sword tightly, ready to strike. "Afterwards, go away! You're annoying!"
"A hero? You seem a little weak to be one," Chrissy commented thoughtfully. "I kinda doubt you could even take one of these people on!"
With a collective cry of frustration, a demon charged at her from within the crowd. Seeing the approach, Chrissy watched him expectantly, only to block the scratch aimed at her and punch him to the ground.
Waving her slightly pained fist, Chrissy glanced back at the human. "And they don't even know how to attack at once and overwhelm us! Anyway, you say you have a girlfriend that needs rescuing?"
A bright, cheerful smile from the angel. "Well, no idea where is is! Sorry~"
The crowd, having quite enough of the angel's arrogance, advanced upon her and the human, who was likely to be an unfortunate casualty in the imminent beating.
"Oh.. uh... yeah it's nice to meet you to-" The sudden appearance of the younger demon made her stop mid tracks on what sh was about to say. Clenching her fist, she addressed the boy in her usual way too loud voice, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING ANNOYING, YOU DAMN BRATTY PIPSQUEAK?!"
She then turned back to the witch, "Sorry Amber, I have to spank this kids here, then we can get back to having our blast," Rolling up her sleeves, she stomped towards the boy, "Come on shrimp, prepare for your daily dose of ass whoppin'"
Cain continued to watch the event from the sidelines. A hero came out of nowhere, the celestial was edging the demons on and they reacted just how he thought they would. Violence. He couldn't blame them, honestly, the girl wouldn't shut up. "Mmmmmm..." the knight unfolded his arms and walked forward. With one swing of his arm a long chain thrust forward and through the air. It quickly closed the gap between himself and one of the demons. The tip of the sharp blade aimed to pierce the neck of one of the idiot demons.
Shae sulked, So much for thinking the angel could help, but it looks like we'll need to fight to get out of this mess.
That, and she basically picked apart his so called hero title.
He readied his sword and struck at one of the attacking demons with his sword twice, a double attack.
He could not afford to fall here, not when Shina was still out there and in danger from that Demon Lord. Weak as I may be, I will never give up on achieving my goal!
"Hmmmm." Said a a not that endowed women with a black fedora hat wearing a brown Pancho around her body
(ooc- think this or the male gunner
◊)
One could see her left hand out of the pancho, her hand rubbing her chin, her blood red eyes closed, as she felt a small breeze.
This demon woman with brown hair and somewhat pointy ears stopped in the middle of the walkway, watching the angel child and human get involved with these demons.
It was as if fate themselves brought them and the others she noticed nearby to this simple village.
Well, that and the hint that someone found a clue to the overlord's emblem here. After all, that was why this young adult in the fedora and pancho was here now.
She noticed the fight about to brew, and herd some trashtalk that she instantly ignored as her mind went on. A little crack on her mouth formed when she thought there two infront of her might be the protagonists and each other's future love interests. Having a angel as your saving angel. Now wouldn't that be ironic.
She reached her hand back into her little bag around her waist that was neatly concealed by the pancho (she'd be damned if a high level thief stole it) and began to rummage through for a weapon. That battle, while easy seemed like fun. She didn't really understand why they were about to fight and who was the good guy here (Though, usually the angels are the good guys...normally), but hell.
This was Ren's vacation adventure to become this land's overlord. Why not jump in?

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."Bratty?!" Alex growled with fury. "I'll show you 'bratty', you tone deaf, stupid, annoying-"
Someone walked between them at that moment, completely oblivious to their presence. Alex blinked, temporarily thrown off by this woman, before his irritation returned. Pointing his blade at the woman, Alex said in a harsh tone, "You! Move, or I'll kick your ass as well!"
"Aw, there sin't even a strong opponent within this crowd..." Chrissy lamented, before raising her blade and dashing forward.
Four demons found themselves falling to her blade, a victim of her rush attack. With a high, graceful backflip, the angel returned to her previous position at the human's side.
"Stick with me, human guy, and I'll carve a path through these mooks~" Chrissy cheerfully announced. It was going to be overkill. Not only was she obviously superior to the demon mob, the armour dude was joining in, and the human could maybe take on or two on.
Hell, a few of the demons had already backed off. This wasn't even a challenge.
She finally noticed the little pint of a demon next to her.
"How rude." She responded. "You can fight with your girlfriend over there as much as you want but threatening random people isn't something a child should do. It's quite dangerous...you never know who you're picking a fight with."
Weapon found. It's no Memento, but far more fun. Now will she need it is another.
"I was going to move, but I don't think I will now. I'm planting my feet right here." she said crossing her arms under her pancho and placed her feet once again firmly on the ground.

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.So a small village in the middle of nowhere. Not the kind of story begining Geoff AKA "TK Thunderboy" was hoping for, but if what he heard was true this was first lead to the ultimate prize. Besides, there was sort of a classic feel to it, like a strange gunslinger walking into the duest roads of a western town. Though in those movies the populous wasn't full of demons, but that wasn't the point. This was his chance for enternal glory, there wasn't any turning around now.
As he wandered through the streets he saw that there was a scuffle going on in the town center, several demons surrounding a armored man, a kid with the sword and what Thunderboy assumed was a celestrial. The halo was a huge tip off. It certainly didn't seem like a fair fight, and jumpping in to save the three would get him quite a lot of attention. He readied to rush in when he saw the celestrail run through several of the demons in a single stroke. Well that knocked the fun out of it. Leaving the three to their own devices, Geoff looked over something else to interest in.
Not to far away from the fight he saw a smaller group about ready to duke it out. Time to strike! Alex and Ren may have heard the whine of servos increase as a 8-foot battle suit walked up close, it's armor a mix of yellow, gunmetal grey, and black with a opaque dome where the head on a humanoid would be. It's most noticible characteristic, besides being a fricking metalic suit, was the two tesla coils sprouting out from it's back. "Now what seems to be the problem?" a cocky voice asked through the machine's voicecom.
Sometimes I even amaze myself. Currently: Nice and sneaky like"Girlfriend?! You callin' me a shotacon?!" Lumi asked, outraged that this girl would even think she'd consider dating a brat like this, "I AM NOT THIS SHITTY BOURGEOIS' GIRLFRIEND!"
"I'm kickin' your ass first, then I'll kick the half pints ass!" The demon girl had pulled back her fist, but stopped beofre she could try anything, noticing the newcomer, "...what the hell is that?"
Ren turned around to see to her delight, a (kinda) giant robot behind her.
"A giant mecha" Ren said answering a question not addressed to her. " It's just what this series needs. And you forgot to link the trope"
"A lover's quarl, or at least so I though." Ren said turning to the (sorta) giant mecha. " Appearently they don't know eachother, but I think they want to fight."
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."...Yeah, you don't know who you're messing with..." Alexander growled, his face twitching with fury. An insolent woman, who dared claim that annoying idiot was his girlfriend?! Oh, that was just low. And she had the nerve to just remain there?
"Well, enjoy your death!" Alex shrugged. He wouldn't mind one combo with the annoying girl - she was next anyway. But something else had to arrive for some reason.
Alex turned to face the mechanical creature, clearly unamused. "Seriously, why are the worst characters crowding around me?"

Within the Netherworld, things were happening.
To elaborate slightly, with the untimely assassination of Overlord Bob Mc Guff'n XXIX, no one was left to rule in that particular realm. Now all sorts of demons - as well as the occasional human and celestial being, somehow - found themselves hunting for some emblem no one had really heard of before. Not that it stopped everybody clamouring for the thing in order to rule the Netherworld and possibly to feel kind of important.
But since its location was unknown, it could anywhere in the Netherworld. Within the forests, shielded by the ice of the arctic areas, or even inside your own cookie jar for all anyone knew. It was going to be one hell of a search.
One could only imagine the chaos that could possibly ensue from this scenario...
Within the village centre, a fight was brewing.
A crowd of villagers circled two opponents. One, a particularly angry ghoul, and the other an angel with an odd, crystalline sword.
Supported by the crowd, Angry Ghoul lurched menacingly towards the innocently smiling celestial girl, her halo-tied ribbons fluttering in the slight breeze.
If the cries and shouts were anything to go by, this girl had been insulting everyone she crossed paths with. Not that she was actually aware that declaring the village as 'lamentably full of weaklings and sinners' was kind of rude for a first impression. She was also apparently under the impression that she had stumbled across a social gathering, or maybe the entire village was here to welcome her?
Elsewhere, away from the inevitable battle was a small group of generic demons, huddled together and totally unaware that a young, child-like boy in silver armour was listening in. Apparently this group - like the six others scattered around the village - had found a lead on the emblem, and were 'secretly' discussing what would be needed for an expedition to this dangerous location.
Obviously, said young-looking boy was going to beat them to the location with his totally superior sword skills and stuff.
