Do you guys listen to songs with lyrics that are in unfamiliar languages?

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.

I'd be hard-pressed to find songs that I listen to in a familiar language.

Oh yes, a lot. If anything, lyrics in a language I don't understand are a plus, because I won't get turned off if they're completely inane.

Oh, I thought you meant songs we dont understand conceptually, not literally.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.

Funny how many of my cases are BM bands: Ulver (archaic Danish/Norwegian); Oranssi Pazuzu (Finnish); Drudkh (Ukrainian). I guess Boris too, I've been digging Feedbacker lately. Not much else.

I know Hebrew, Russian and English (in descending order of mastery):

  • I don't like most of my own country's music, which is oh so very unpatriotic of me (yes, I don't even like Orphaned Land much).
  • I find the Russian music scene to be quite stale, but started digging Dolphin recently, which is hopefully a sign of me finding more interesting things from AAAH MOTHERLAND in the near future; I pick up on lyrics in Russian much quicker than in English.
  • No need to explain myself with English, hopefully.

I can speak Korean and English. However, because I listen to a lot of anime openings, Japanese is basically my third language. [lol]

Recently started to acquire Brazillian songs.

Continuously reading, studying, and (hopefully) growing.

I rarely listen to music sung in my main language (Portuguese), most songs I like are in English.

However, I do occasionally listen to some stuff in Russian, French, Japanese and Finnish.

I dare you to understand the words of this song.

END OF ZE WORLD

"But I am Le Tired..."

For me that Flash belongs in a pantheon of TOTALLY RANDUM Flash movies, alongside its contemporaries The Demented Cartoon Movie and Arfenhouse. Which probably means that it warrants a trope page.

[up] I suppose that one could nominate Rejected for that pantheon as well, but that's more a "spiritual godfather" than anything.

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.
