-narrows his eyes at Jack-
My client is a "he", your honor.
Ahem, ladies and gentlemen, I tell you that my client, Yu Narukami, deserves not to be jailed for his offense of... -sweat drop- sinking a section of Atlantis... again. On the grounds that he did not commit the action on purpose. Mr. Narukami is a good man that would not purposefully seek to sink what we would all consider the discovery of a lifetime.
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanMr. Narukami has confided to me that, at the time, he was unaware that his actions would trigger its fall and that he his endlessly sorry for it. That aside, nothing more, your Honor.
gawwwwd it feels like Lifty & Shifty Vs Splendid Squirrel all over again (where I still know nothing about what the Lawyer is supposed to do in an American court of law)
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's mean-rises-
We've all heard the legends. Legends of a technologically advanced civilization, lost to the crashing waves of the sea. And now, we know that not only did it survive, it thrived! And through years of backbreaking work they finally reconnected with the world they seperated from so long ago! And what was their reward for trying to share culture, invention, and philosophy? To be struck down back into the sea! By a TEENAGE BOY, nonetheless! Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, are we honestly going to let years of progress lost in an instant go unpunished, simply because the vile perpetrator who caused all this feels BAD about it now that he's been caught!?
Nothing further, your honor. -Has his seat-

My client did not just immediately feel bad for his actions after he was caught. He would have sooner explained himself and turned himself in had he not been threatened with death by the authority that was on the scene at the time of the action!

-to ballif- thank ye
-points with gavel- you! with the pointy hair!
