You flatter us so. But better by whose reckoning? Intelligence? Strength? Neither of those make a man. In this city there are men who willingly lay down their lives for the sake of their people. For the right of man to exist and thrive. Of course they are flawed. Of course there are those among them that are craven, that hurt the weak and submit to darkness. Perhaps some do deserve to die. We are but men. But through our struggles, we can strive to defeat all those who would lay us low, damn them. I am Turambar, and I say that man can master his own fate!
If fighting here is stupidity then I am a proud fool.
I would sooner die then let you genocide the people of this land.

"I don't think you quite understand what you've been told. This is not genocide. They are our brothers, our sisters. We have given them gifts. We have uplifted their entire civilization. If it wasn't for my influence, they would still be animalistic tribes killing each other for pretty flowers.
"You can decry this as genocide, but you're wrong. I don't want them to abandon their culture, because that would be abandoning our culture. Every facet of their lives comes from me. Why do you think I hate them? I don't. I love them as my children.
"It's not a collection of an investment. It's a coming of age. A rite of passage. It is never painless. You don't need to think that I'm right. Just don't throw yourselves away fighting an inexorable force. I would much rather have you be my equals than be dead.
"Stand aside. I have the power to let you go back to your homes."

-The boot stops inches from the crystal-
....Huh?
-He puts his foot down and looks back up-
...So, you can talk! And who am I speaking to?
