NO! You NEVER say what is going to happen to your past self!
In theory, yes, we could potentially avoid having gone through all this bullshit if we tell ourselves to look out, help us, or get a move on sooner. However, one of two things could happen.
One: our current memories change due to the alteration of events we cause by interacting with ourselves. The events leading up to this also change, or we might even be done with things at this point! Reality rewrites itself because we interfered with events that already happened.
Or two: we create a completely new timeline where the shit we went through never happened. At that point, our past selves do things differently, but shit never changes for us. Reality doesn't bother to rewrite itself for us. We become paradoxes. We never happened because our past selves never did the things we did. And the universe doesn't like paradoxes. It will eat us for breakfast and conspire for any remaining crumbs to be swiftly dealt with and be out of its hair.
Number one happens in theory, but I've seen examples of number two way too much, and I would rather we not become a product of it.
So in short, if you see your past self, do everything you can to stay out of sight and don't tell them anything.
-Heads outside and looks around-
...and then everything I said was completely useless because WE'RE PARKED IN THE SAME FUCKING SPOT! PAST US HAS ALREADY VACATED THE PREMISES!
