Some cocky hotshot in a trenchcoat. He walks right up to me with it and asks for cash. Even if I was willing to pay actual money, he was asking for what would have bought me a small country. I had him escorted out, but he told me he already knew someone who would pay what he asked. He'd just wanted to see if I could match it. That was interesting. I had a tracer hidden on him. You can imagine my surprise when he leaves this time period entirely.
Time traveller. Makes sense.
A vortex manipulator. Tightly controlled. Only Time Agents get legal access to them.
Okay, I'll take it down to nine. Nine good?
-All kinds of random earth artefacts can be found there, Cass. You name it, it has it-
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? The magnetic handcuffs will lock down just about anything to anyone. The electromagnets can only be disabled by a specific signal from this doohickey here. And the sonic disruptor will affect any creature sensitive to its frequencies. A good distraction.
-Bluh, pause-
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?Okay, you're clearly no fool. I'll take it down to eight. How's eight?
Legitimate Time Agents don't come around here and pawn off ill-gotten gains. He's rogue, most likely. Or just stole the manipulator. Fortunately, my tracker traced exactly where he went. I was thinking of sending somebody after him to find out who his mysterious buyer is.
The engine and the camera? Depends what you got to trade. Make me an offer.
-There's an old silver necklace underneath a torn up teddy bear, Cassie-
-There doesn't seem to be anything to suit a dragoness, except maybe a few snacks from the endangered animal stand-
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?-Laser knives get!-
- -8 regular knives-
You give me those coordinates, I can find out.
Why the sudden interest in Time Lord artefacts, Doctor? You seemed content to leave them be before.
I have a lot riding on this particular one.
Well, anyone would be stupid to refuse the help of the Doctor. Very well.
-He takes a data slate and shows the Doctor the coordinates, who downloads them to the screwdriver-
A pleasure doing business with you again, Doctor.
Depends on the setting. You can set it to a mild intensity and high frequency and piss off the neighbour's dog. Or you can turn the intensity up and leave it as a nasty surprise to any human dumb enough to stumble into a trap. Quite... distracting.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?

Okay, then that's twelve of your knives.
-He's clearly taking you for a spin, Biker-
-Haggle the fuck out of him-
-Earth tech get!-
I don't have it. But I know who does.
