As you may know, the popular virtual reality massively-multiplayer online role-playing game Terrain of Magical Expertise is seemingly responsible for the hospitalisation of five children playing it. While the other three children are currently stable but in comas, one of them, Christopher Niosi, has been declared brain-dead two months ago at the age of fifteen. However, as has been recently revealed, moments before his death, a nearby computer mysteriously had a .wav file appear, ready to be played. The file was an eleven second clip, with the following message:
The voice, having been cut off, was later confirmed to belong to Christopher.
When questioned about the recent accidents, TOME creator John Nestoriak refused to provide the Sun with details, only stating, "Whatever this mess is, it's not coming from our game. Not only is it impossible, we wanted to create a world where players could meet and make friends from accross the world. [...] ...I would never endager children like this."
Christopher's parents also refused to provide comment on his death.
The Sun did get a quote from one of his friends from the game, however — Nathan Adriani, age 15, told the Sun that, "I'm certain he knew what he was doing, whatever it was. And I believe that when the other three awaken from their comas — which they will — they will be able to provide the explanation that Christopher never could. We have to have faith. With things the way they are now, there is really nothing else we can do."
