Grunt was cackling with joy. "HAHAHAHAHA!! A good fight at last!" With that, the Krogan began firing his massive shotgun. The weapon, more resembling a massive brick than anything else, recoiled against his shoulder. Superheated particles of thermite accelerated to relativistic speeds. The spread of the shots was huge, but so was the creature he was aiming at.
Meanwhile, Garrus and Tali also were firing their weapons, although unlike their comrade they were slowly backing up as they did so. It seemed the turian's intuition had been correct. Things weren't good.
Ejecting his heatsink, Garrus activated his own ammunition mod. Armor piercing rounds screamed down the hallway. The M-15 Vindicator in his hand screamed. Meanwhile, Tali felt the plasma shotgun in her hands hum, as it charged it's superconductor to full power, before unleashing it's electrified projectiles, burning into plasma upon impact with the enemy's flesh.
Garrus shouted to his squadmate. "Grunt, see if we can knock 'em back!" The turian clicked a button on his rifle at the same time as the Krogan. "Concussive shot, ready!"
Two large projectiles hit the leading monstrocity with a combined force of 1050 newtons, enough to send a human flying.
"Open fire," said one of the stormtroopers, while Praji was visibly blanching as he realised just what was happening. The commander drew his holdout blaster and sent a few tentative shots down the hallway as he retreated behind the others, whereas the stormtroopers began to sustain a steady rate of fire while jockeying for more defensible positions, sending a shower of red bolts flashing down the hallway as they did so. Vader, for his part, raised his lightsaber into a ready stance to intercept any strikes sent his or his men's way, and - assuming there was anything he could take hold of using the Force - he began telekinetically tossing objects toward the Tyranids at quite some clip.
None of the Imperials were quite sure what they were facing, but hopefully the Dark Lord of the Sith and the withering amounts of fire they were laying down would offset their uncertainty.
Locking you up on radar since '09The first line of the smaller things took the impacts of the projectile weapons but didn't seem to be as effected as they should have, being driven on by something. Sure, they cut down the smaller ones but they kept crawling forwards, using whatever limbs they had left. It was the rocket from the Rebel and the Plasma Lancer projectiles which stopped the initial charge. At least long enough for the dual concussion rounds from Grunt and Garrus to smash into their lines.
Vader's efforts tore the loose doors from where they had been lying on the floor, sending them flying over the heads of everyone else. The doors collided with the bigger bugs, actually cutting one clean in half from the force, and stunning the rest. For what seemed like ten seconds the entire bunch slowed down...
Aries bellowed,
“Fall back! Back! There's too many!” Her weapon was only annoying them as far as she could tell, but she kept firing. The marines with her empty magazines and ejected them, replacing them with fresh ones as fast as they could. She could barely make out the massive amounts behind the horde they were current shooting, but those with night vision would clearly see the entire corridor as far as their night vision reach was filled with the monsters.
Under their feet, only the very aware would notice a few metal plates buckling, as if something was pushing up underneath them as they fell back.
Signum, despite noticing the sound under her feet, did not turn and flee immediately, though she gestured for Fate to do the same, and hastily performed a watered-down version of the strongest attack that she could use whilst Unisoned. A pillar of flame formed a sword in the knight's hands, one that turned into a vast wave of flame as she swung it at the Tyranids—then turned and fled. Since she could fly, it was likely enough to catch up to the people that had left before her.
The Vanguard* ejected the empty shell from his weapon and loaded a new one into its maw.
"She's right - retreat! Retreat!" shouted Akran, figuring that the time for stealth was well past.
The soldiers obeyed, sending a last volley of blaster fire toward the advancing Tyranids before retreating after the Typhon's marines.
The Vanguard, meanwhile, calmly peered into his weapon's sights. He launched another missile toward his enemies and turned around too, ejecting the empty shell as he did so.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home. The Marines had added their own fire. One Marine stayed close enough for one of the... things to get up to the the point of maximum effectiveness, then delivered twelve-gauge gauss justice from the Anvil before turning around and Overdriving his way out of there, leaving the other two Marines and the grunt to cover his ass. The grunt, in the meanwhile, fired another charge pack their way.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."Metaknight and four Axe Knights suddenly found themselves in a small room. The Axe Knights look about in confusion for a bit, while Metaknight assessed the surroundings. Quiet, door isn't locked. [[blue:"Knights, stand sharp. Follow my lead, we are going to figure out what is going on here. Metaknight opened the door and moved out, taking his knights quickly but carefully down the long corridor checking every nook and cranny for information or hostiles.
As they heard gunfire and other weapons being fired off after a long period of finding nothing, They found themselves looking down a corridor straight into the movements of a large number of grotesque looking creatures charging.. something. Metaknight quickly motioned a stern command and the group ducked away from the corridor and view of the enemy. Then Metaknight peeked out to see how many were passing but they just kept going. "That is too many for us to handle, lets go that way and try to find what those are chasing." The group charged down their own alternate path. Metaknight's cape turned into a pair of bat wings and he winged ahead and scouted for his troops.

"Woah, that was weird. Commander? . . . Commander Metaknight is missing. Get Steve up here! Attention crew, Red Alert! Hostile situation." Then the tech officer turned to look at his radar and consider the situation, communicating with the other ships which also apparently experienced whatever phenomenon that was. He'd soon discovered, from the sensor information, that they were moved somehow.

Nanoha was still rather exhausted from the events immediately prior to their teleportation. Hoping the others were doing well, she sat by Vivio and stroked the little girl's hair gently, as she slept. She seemed okay... that, at least, was good. Soon enough, she was sure, they'd be getting out of here and she'd be able to take care of her better.
Vita, meanwhile, spent her time exploring the Saint's Cradle. Her injuries had completely healed, even the wound in her chest was sealed completely. For now, she simply wandered the vast, golden halls, in search of anything that looked useful or of note.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."The Imperials began falling back in an orderly but quick fashion, keeping an eye on the bugs in front of them as they spread out in an attempt to limit the effects of any ranged strikes on them.
Darth Vader caught the heat signature of... something under the floor, though he could not ascertain what exactly it was. "There is something beneath us," he said in a matter of fact manner as he shifted out of the way of the signature. He did not know what it was, but it was probably going to be difficult to kill. Such things always were, in his long experience.
Locking you up on radar since '09The wall of Flame Signum threw up halted the monsters charge for several seconds, before the entire mass plunged into and on it, covering the flames with their bodies so their fellows could crawl over them unharmed. The flames had held the beasts long enough for the Rebel's rockets and the others fire to tear into the beasts, making more corpses and obstacles for them to have to crawl over.
“Go, go go!”
Aries was pulling back as she ran right over the point Vader had pointed out. In all the noise of the constant gunfire she hadn't been able to hear him, and thus was unprepared when something erupted out of the floor and on top of her.
“The Things got the XO!” Bellowed one of the marines in horror. He couldn't risk firing his rifle at this angle, it would hit his commanding officer.
She found herself pinned by a six legged monstrosity, a serpent like beast that was at least 16 feet long, that snapped at her head with its jaws. Each of its legs ended in a scythe like blade and the thing stank to high heaven. She jerked her head sideways just in time to avoid the bite aimed at her cranium. She raised her pistol to the things head but the bullet she fired only dented the outer armor the monster had.
“Get this fracker off me!”
Those retreating the furthest would be able to make out a doorway in the distance with soft orange light inside, as if it was a much larger room.
One of the Marines immediately ran up to the bug pinning the CO. Yelling, "TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE!", he rammed the barrel of the Scimitar into the bug, then opened fire.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp.""We've got bugs!" shouted one of the Rebels.
"I'm on it!" said Akran. He shouldered his sniper rifle, peering through its sights, then pulled the trigger, sending a beam of orange laser toward the ugly beast's head.
The Vanguard, meanwhile, loaded another rocket into his launcher. He turned around, and, running backwards, fired it toward the advancing Tyranids.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home."HAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Grunt was clearly enjoying himself. As the density of targets in the room increased, he had switched from his shotgun, to the heavy machine gun that he was currently using like an assault rifle. The Krogan's immense strength held the gun steady as he blazed away at the advancing foes. The Krogan was at the very back of the group, only as far away from the flames as he had to be (which was not far).
Meanwhile, Garrus saw a member of one of the other crews caught. Without thinking, the turian looked down his sights and pulled his trigger. The gun's barrel rose slightly as a three round burst of explosive tipped tungsten carbide rounds launched toward the creature at extreme velocities.
Archangel didn't miss.
It was a mix of things that dealt with the serpent on top of Aries. Maybe it was the soldier jamming his rifle into the thing and holding down the trigger, the energy beam from the one Rebel soldier, or Garrus' sniper rifle round blowing the entire head off the beast and covering her in its fluids.
Ether way, she was pissed.
One of the last remaining marines pulled her to her feet and brushed some of the debris off her. Leaving the corpse behind her, Aries pulled into a run.
The leading marines got to the door first and ran inside. It was a hanger of some sort, being very open and had actual working lights. Best of all: No Bugs.
They moved to each side of the doorway, aiming their rifles through back towards the horde but not firing as they didn't want to hit the others.
“Come on!”
There was a set of controls next to the door, but they were more focused on the impending bug rush.

The rest of the Marines were through the hole. The single grunt had reset his energy repeater and was beginning to refire, and the Ripsaw-carrying Marine tore into the horde with supressing fire.
"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp.""I think now would be a good time to get those doors shut!" Jimbo, the Marine squad's support gunner, yelled once they were into the hangar.
"Not yet; We're not leaving people out there." Mayer shouted back, as he put another burst from his sub-machine gun into the horde.

"Yup. That tasted purple."Garrus and Tali piled through the door way, firing above their comrade at the creatures creeping on the ceilings. Sniper rifle and heavy pistol fire was not the most efficient system, but it was what they had.
"Grunt, come on!" cried Garrus, as he headshotted a creature right before it dropped right behind the krogan.
The Krogan's slow retreat sped up as the Krogan acknowledged his squadmate. A wise battle master knew when to egress, in order to appear again and strike. No one had ever called Urdnot Grunt wise, but he certainly knew that dying here would accomplish nothing. The tankbred's retreat was not hasty, but it was not slow either.
Meanwhile Tali was working her magic on the control panel. She was unfamiliar with the local systems, but the language on it was surprisingly similar to Earth english. She wasn't sure what it meant by "litany of closing", and she was pretty sure there was something wrong with her translators from the frequent references to incense, but she had figured out how to close it.
" Hurry!" she said, her suit giving her voice a synthesized edge that was offset by the shear worry in her tone.
Meta Knight and his small crew continued to bound forward and finally found a corridor with an adjoining corridor that didn't have the creatures at the end, for a moment. Then the creatures started rushing through, and there was no other way forward except this way. "Knights, we are going to break through this advancing line, go!"
Meta Knight rushed forward on his wings with his men sprinting to follow. His sword glowed a deep purple color as Meta Knight readied the perfect attack to get through here. He started spinning on his wings, fast, and faster. Then his spinning was surrounded by a tornado of energy lashing out. He met with the rushing Tyranids and broke into the swarm, slamming into the ones nearest. But as he stopped the things were on him in an instance, as he slashed several small bits bit into his back, and as he dealt with those a big one smashed into him.
But Meta Knights crew came up too, and started throwing their axes. Each brought their axe up and flung it hard, the axe whirling and looking more like a disc than an axe, cutting into the fight. As the Axe cut through, it would boomerang back to the thrower though, if it didn't the axe disappeared and an axe appeared in the Knight's hand. Meta Knight slashed a couple more and brought his sword up into the air, glowing again. The four axe knights moved into the corridor and tried to get behind Meta Knight, but two were speared by the largest of the Tyranids close by and was quickly pulled in. Meta Knight Brought his sword down and summoned two tornadoes, centered on the same point on the ground. While that did its work to stall the swarm Meta Knight and the remaining Axe Knights carved their way forward and to what it was they were chasing.
Meta Knight stayed up in the air flapping his bat wings. "So we meet again." Those things aren't weak, that could have gone worse had I waited to go in. The two remaining Axe Knights turned around, walking backwards to keep throwing their Axes at the enemy.

Cornelia dove through the doorway along with a couple of Marines. Her entire team was now in the hanger room and she looked back she saw the round form of Metaknight and his followers actually attacking the horde of the bugs.
“Hey!” She bellowed, waving,
“Get in here!” She turned to the helmeted alien which had been working the control panel,
“When they're through, shut it!” A couple of her Marines went prone near the entrance to fire through to cover the round Knight and his buddies.
Seeing that they didn't have much time, Meta Knight looped up and back in the air, sheathing his sword. The Tryanids got closer and within striking distance, the Axes showing little effect overall. Taking the hands of both his remaining crewmen, who continued to throw axes, he lifted them up and sped forward to the hanger and through the door.. He set them down as he flew into the hangar, wings out to reduce speed and doing a quick loop to turn around. The Axe Knights threw their last axes at the oncoming horde as the door shut.
"I knew I recognized you from in there. Meta Knight, Commander of the Halberd." Meta Knight looked around the Hangar. "What is the plan here?"

"All right, weapons free. Only shoot what you can hit though!" Captain Mayer shouted over everyone else's weapons fire, and the group opened up, sending armour-piercing ammunition scything down the corridor.
