I keep reading these posts super late but Phi's hair is amazing Duff. Don't deny it. It's like, straight out of the 90's.

I didn't know FFVII was on Steam.

I might get it.

But that might mean, I don't get the feast I'm planning at the end of this week.

Things which have outlived their usefulness:

1. Daylight Savings Time
2. The US penny
3. Summer vacations greater than 1 month

1. Daylight Savings Time
2. The US penny

Fixed that for you.

Speaking of which, almost got fired over a senior paper. I'll probably have to quit after this week anyway. If I don't get fired first.

Yeesh, fired over a senior paper? That doesn't sound good.

I still maintain my third point - 2+ months away from school atrophies what was learned the previous year and eats into the coming year because teachers have to spend time reteaching the previous year's stuff. I'd rather see those days off spread more evenly throughout the year.

I hold that this wouldn't be a problem if we had better teachers. I tend to not remember anything from the textbook-worksheet-shut-up-and-memorise-it-codemonkey teachers, but the stuff I have from actually competent ones tends to stick.

After having Mr. Stallard, my government teacher, I can safely say he's probably the best teacher I've ever had in my entire life (I don't even like government and I still enjoyed myself and actually learned a lot), and that in retrospect, I had an appalling number of terrible teachers. Including this one that just assigned book things and then sat at her desk to eat. As a result our backpacks weighed fifty pounds (and we were all in fifth grade, mind you), and we were all bored to tears.

I don't remember a damn thing I learned in fifth grade.

Teachers relating to history are mostly the best ones from my experience, they seem like the most fun and interesting ones.

Hi guys! We talkin' bout shitty teachers?

Well, during my first year in Polytechnic, me and my buddies were learning to use Flash. Our teacher was decent, he walked us through stuff, gave us lots of stuff to work with, and overall gave us a decent idea of how to work with Flash.

That is, until he dropped from the face of the earth halfway through the curriculum, and we got a new teacher.

New teacher guy assumed we knew the whole curriculum already, and just left us to our devices to work on our final Flash projects. When we told him we didn't know what to do, he gave us the codes and files for later parts of the curriculum.

And didn't teach us how to uuuuuussse theeeeeeeeem.

My friend blames that event for our general ineptness at coding.
